Currently I have an obsession with random stripes blankets & I'm working on one that has various pinks, beige & white. I'll try to post a picture later (at work currently). But...I just came across this random stripes generator & thought I'd share. I can't wait to start another blanket! So many possibilities. I spent an hour just putting color combos together.

Love everyone's work - beautiful. Congrats pjaye on finishing your project. It's wonderful. I'm doing Attic24's cosy stripe blanket in fits and starts, currently about to start colour change 72 of 90 so on the final push. I love the colours and am looking forward to bringing it along on summer picnics. 90 color changes?!?!? What was I thinking??? Wondering how long it will take my yarn to make it's way across the pond!

Since I have completed most of Lily Pond and my gauge was the same as Janie Crowfoot's, I assumed that I would be able to use her recommended hooks on Frida's Flowers and didn't do my test swatches - bad me! Evidently the Stylecraft Life DK works up at a very different gauge than the Stylecraft Classic Cotton the pattern was developed with. The first block I made ended up being over an inch too small. So, I went up a hook size and tried again. This time is was 3/4" too small. I then went up another hook size - so a full 1 mm larger for all three hooks - and ended up with a block that was only 1/4" under gauge. Since all the blocks of this blanket are the same size - unlike Lily Pond - I'm going to live with it being a little smaller, as I wouldn't like the fabric any looser. So, here is block 1 - 3 more full blocks and 4 half blocks to go. It should go a little quicker now that I don't have to keep ripping out.

Just made this... www.ravelry.com/projects/karmayarn/dangling-conversationGood Karma was at a local farmers market so I made it with that exact yarn. Mine is in a heap awaiting blocking! Working on an infinity scarf in seed stitch in some gradient yarn I got by another vender at the farmers market now. Is that your project? It's beautiful so either good work or good pattern choice If not you, did you add the beads? I've only done it once and it was sooo time consuming but a beautiful touch. Well worth it for my SeaSilk project! Not my work, but I made it in that color scheme. I didn't add the beads, I was too impatient...no beads on hand so that would have slowed me down and I wanted to get started. And now for something completely different... The start of my Attic 24 ripple blanket using the 'cosy' colours. I am making mine bigger than the original pattern because I want it for the end of my double bed, therefore I also got another 4 balls that I am incorporating into the stripes as well. Don't look too closely because the light violet colour is out of sync, but I didn't notice for a few rows. Decided not to undo it because the ripple effect isn't really affected...but now I've got the pattern in my head it's pretty easy.
Love the colors in this!!

I am addicted to this thread. I love to look at everyone's work too. Though I feel sorta guilty because i don't really knit or crochet. Maybe a random loom 'knit' project for the holidays. I have all of my mother's hooks though so maybe someday I'll try to pick it up.

I am trying to recover from a whirlwind March: running The Crochet Express blog tour in honor of National Crochet Month, launching the Get Squared Retreats (crochet garment-making), and running a vendor booth at Stitches South in Nashville this past weekend. Now I have to finish taxes before I can even think about starting a new project.

The pattern shows up better on this one I think, That wrap is so pretty! Is it for you or a gift for someone? I was looking at poncho patterns last night, I need to remember though, that's why I stopped knitting, I like to make the garments, but I don't like to wear them. So if I start posting about making something to wear...someone speak up and stop me...lol. 90 color changes?!?!? What was I thinking??? They aren't so bad, I've been sewing them in as I go and I'm at row 11 and no ends left Love the colors in this!! That's why I had to go with buying a colour pack. I know if I picked my own colours my natural inclination would be to go much more muted/soft and I really wanted something bright for a change - so a preselected pack of colours was the way to go. Even as I'm working it though I keep having doubts (OMG that orange is so bright etc.) but I know I'll love the finished product so I'm ignoring my inner voice and forging ahead!

flute4peace it's a pattern from this book Modern Crocheted Shawls There are several other shawls in it that I plan to make. If you didn't want to buy the book, this is very similar and on my to do list Sunday ShawlI made it for myself just to wear around the apartment in the evenings, maybe in the garden. I'm trying not to make anymore blankets this year, I really don't need anymore!

There is the extra benefit that your lap is cozy while you work. Hope your wool turns up very soon.

I'm sitting here analyzing it row by row because I like yours better. The colors are a bit different, too, did you change colors?
Maybe you should just send me yours lol.

pjaye, I love your granny square afghan! If I read your posts correctly, you said you did all the centers, then the next round, then the next round, etc. Did you weave in the ends on all of the centers before crocheting the next round? Weaving in ends is my least favorite part of crochet/knitting.

Well I finished my granny square afghan/blanket (never know what to call it)...and it's now hanging over the back of my sofa and that cat is definitely enjoying it! Amazingly Angelique managed to stay off it while I took these photos:
I'm really happy with how it turned out and it was a good project to get my crochet skills back up. I really like the look of crocheting the squares together rather than sewing then, I think it's a nicer effect...not my idea, I found it while looking for inspiration online and decided to use it.
Now that's finished I've made a start on my Attic 24 ripple afghan - I'll take a photo tomorrow. I've done 7 colours so far and I really like using the Stylecraft yarn. I know lainey mentioned having "squeaking" issues, but it hasn't happened to me so far.
Great to see everyone's work! That is beautiful. Grey is my all time favorite color. I hate making granny square blankets cause I hate, hate, hate sewing them together. Where did you find the pattern to crochet them together??? TIA.

I'm using the leftover yarn from dd's afghan and making a lap blanket. I'm SO tired of this yarn!! I ordered the yarn for the Cosy Stripe blanket that jennyap is making! This is very pretty. What is the pattern called? TIA.

Here is my current random stripes blanket. I hope to be done in a month. I did this one all single crochet, so it is taking a bit longer. .
