Anaheim sounds terrific. I went to Pleasanton, we did not have a BG booth...I would have LOVED it...but we did have an Echo Park booth. Which I went NUTS over. Finally had to stop myself after 3 trips.
Last year I took the L&G Pocket pages and have to say I was disappointed. It was like a layout class...did not learn any interesting tips. And the giveaways just did not thrill me.
I used to LOVE the Faber Castille techniques classes. I am at the point where I am not interested in duplicating someone else's layout...but am looking to learn new techniques.
I was thinking of skipping Santa Clara, but if BG could be there....

I was there on Saturday. I must say that it is much smaller than the days of it being held in Orange County. The crop was huge and packed. I found a ton of MME and the Nuvo drops to make my own enamel dots. I found one booth- Nicole Peterson, I think, that was more like an LSS and scored some Pink Fresh Felicity 12x12 to go with all of the embellishments I ordered from Scrapbook.com. I also got some dots at the Echo Park booth. The Basic Grey stuff was pretty picked over. Empty tubs. I was really looking for more LSS style booths to buy the newer stuff. I miss having one to shop at in North San Diego County. There is an LSS in North SD County, in Escondido - The Making Place. Their stuff is mostly not my style, but may be yours. And even if not, they still have all the "basics" that work for any style of paper crafting.

I was ther on Friday and Saturday. Took three classes. Layest and Greatest Tools. It was OK. The BEST class was Watercolors the Art Impressions Way. LOVED this soooooo much! Also took the Heartfelt Creations Mum class, very pretty. Shopping was good! I personally thought the make and takes were blahhhhh, didn't do any. Had a lot of fun! Tricia

It's good to know that while it may not be like years past, the Anaheim expo is still alive and kicking. I hope to be there next year. I was kind of glad they did it later in the year, this year. Hope they do that again next year.
Or maybe I'll go to Ontario, how is that one?

triciadoll, your watercolor projects are so pretty! That workshop caught my eye, too. I didn't do any Make and Takes either, except for the freebie. FurryP, I went to Anaheim and Ontario last year and thought they were pretty similar. Ontario was the first place I ever took any workshops. I did the Make and Take night at both. They promise the projects are different, and they were. I will most likely do Ontario again this year. papersilly, lucky you, meeting Peas. It seems like a lot of the Peas from the old board aren't here, but there are still lots of new ones.

I am home recuperating from surgery and wasn't feeling well enough to go . Planning on attending the Ontario one in the fall. I was thinking about Ontario, too. I haven't been there before and we no longer have one coming to San Diego.

Thanks for the reviews and photos! I'm looking forward to my first one in June in Orlando! Haven't been to a convention since the last CKC in Jacksonville a few years ago, so excited!!

I went too! This was my second time going and I thought the quality of stuff was better. I hope to be more prepared next time so I can take a class or do the crop.
Did anyone do the big crop? I looked like tons of ladies over there working away. How was it?

The ladies I met there have all been very welcoming and nice. I hope to do the crop nights at the Ontario Expo in the fall. They all looked like they were having fun.

You CA gals should plan to meetup at the Ontario crop. Seriously! And then post a picture of everyone hanging out! I highly recommend the Friday and/or Saturday crops. They are FUN. Very organized, tons of prizes given away, fun atmosphere, great lighting (at least at the one in Atlanta) plenty of space to work, nice people, etc.

oaksong What ink pads did they recommend in your Thinking about Inking class? I thought about taking it. Was there an ink that was best with water coloring?

oaksong What ink pads did they recommend in your Thinking about Inking class? I thought about taking it. Was there an ink that was best with water coloring? The inks we looked at were Dye, Pigment, Hybrid, Distress, StazOn, and Versamark. They were each developed for different uses. It looks like the best type for watercolor would be Hybrid Ink. The brand we got a sample of was My Favorite Things. It made a beautiful crisp image and layers well with other colors without getting muddy. I haven't worked with any of the inks since the class, except for Distress. You might also find some threads about inks on the Stamping Board.

Thanks for all the reviews of the classes! Now I am kicking myself for not at least taking one of them. I wasn't planning on it but I might need to make a trip to the Ontario Expo!
