Is it bread that is the outside "crust"? What kind of bread is it?

another vote for this!! we had them when i was a kid and have looked at mountain equipment co-op, canadian tire, all over the place to find them but no luck. when i tell the 21 year old they are called pie irons, i get a blank stare. when i try to explain them... blank stare continues..... perhaps i should ask if they have pudgy pie iron??

Sweet ones can be done with raison bread with apple etc inside.
