I still have a LSS in a nearby town that hosts crops. But I just can't talk myself into trying to go. I have never, ever been to a crop or a retreat. Of course, the older I get, the less social I get

I've only ever gone to one crop, years ago.
I was really put off because the two ladies that sat near me kept borrowing my stamps and stuff, and I didn't know how to handle it (I was younger and nicer back then. Now I'm pretty sure I would have a mouthful to say if that happened).
Now I consider myself a lone scrapper.

I get more done at a crop than anywhere else. But it has to be a one with a group of people that lasts over several days. Just me and the BFF in her basement? I don't know why I bother to take my stuff. LOL I'm not going to even unpack it.
I organized my craft area with an eye toward how I could just pull paper drawers, boxes, etc. for crops. I have it all down to a science and it all fits into two rolling carts. If I can't get it from my car to the table all in one trip, I don't take it.

I love going and the group i go with we've known each other over 15yrs. so we all had our children together and husband bashing etc..... so it's so fun to catch up and celebrate our lives and the changes and have great friends we can talk about anything lol. The packing have it down and it's so worth it I am the quiet one and they still love me and it' s fun to see new and other's style .

I love going to crops. I don't seem to get things done at home. I have a tote bag that I keep basics in that I bring with me to crops or work out of at home. Often, I just do the basics on a layout at a crop and finish - embellish, title, journal - at home.
Since our only LSS is not so LOCAL, I don't get there often. The crops are fun there. They are themed, we get a group photos and a one page layout to go with the photo. They have Mardi Gras, hats, Christmas pj's , and hawaiian themes.
I am very lucky, I found a friend to scrap with about 15 minutes from home and I go to her house pretty much every Tuesday after work! I carry about 5 shoulder tote bags with me. I never know what I am going to want to work on.

It is a royal pain to pack that stuff and haul it to the car..then into the crop, unpack it, arrange it and then REpack it, haul it TO the car, to the house, unpack...etc.
BUT, that said, I SO LOVE THOSE RETREAT CROPS...and will always go to those. Day crops don't interest me as the above is too taxing on my poor back to just do it for a few hours. (and I take WAY too much stuff!)

For the most part I love 'em too. There are pros & cons, of course. A big con is the unpacking. Packing isn't too bad due to the anticipation of the fun I'm going to have, but putting it all away when I get home? Yuck. A big pro for me is that I always find it satisfying to see how many of *us* there are in the world. Scrapping alone I tend to feel like I'm the last lonely scrapper and then I go to a crop and I feel a nice sense of community.
And then at the larger ones, there's the shopping . . .

I love crops. I love the social aspect of it. I never really got a lot done, but I liked being around people that shared my hobby and being able to just talk about it. look at other peoples work. I really like crops that are held in a store.

I've never been to a crop. I have a feeling a would spend more time chit chatting rather than working. besides, I can't possibly tote all the supplies I would need in just one rolling bag. I much prefer to have it ALL available to me in my craft room. besides, I don't need the temptation of shopping in the store while I'm supposed to be cropping.

I really enjoy going to crops. I always learn a lot about new products or apps from the other scrappers. I really like socializing while I scrap.
I have a group of friends that get together at a lake house once a year and then I go meet my pea friends at Kaitlyn's Crop every year.

I really enjoy retreat crops. I am friends with a lady that owns 3 retreat houses west of Minneapolis. She hosts crops about 4 times a year, so I can go and enjoy the wonderful houses without the headache of trying to get 10+ people together to make it affordable. I like day crops but never seem to get much done. All the close LSS have closed, so my friends and I get together at our homes to crop, but mostly I go to talk and eat! DH likes it when I host because the house gets cleaned and there is lots of good food.

I recently reconnected w/a scrappy pal and her brother has a house near the beach that they let us use in the off season - for free. It's got 5 bedrooms, is on the canal & has a huge table - and it's Formica, so we can't ruin it! We've been 3 times since October and can't wait to get back there in September. It is heavenly. I'm the same w/day crops. There aren't very many near me. I stumbled upon one held at a church and the ladies are lovely, but it's over an hour away for me. Too much driving, and I never get that much accomplished. My husband is happy when I'm scrapping because then I'm not working on my 'Honey Do' list!

I do. Have been going to crops at a LSS, and got to know a great group of ladies. getting ready to go was not the problem, the biggest paid was putting stuff in the car, at home it is mostly packed up because I don't have a place to spread it out.
but the lss is closing and I don't live that close to where it was so not sure where I will go now.

I must say I have mixed feelings about crops. I love when I get there and chat with everyone and see what everyone is working on etc etc. However I always ask myself if it was worth all the packing up and unpacking. I think I may get more done if I just stayed home.

I agree the packing to go is the fun part, the putting away not so much. I have gone through numerous ways to pack/unpack and finally figured out some storage options that made putting away much easier for me. But it also depends on what you are taking in the first place. I actually think it takes me less time to put away then to pack.

I used to go to a weekly crop with a group of ladies and I did enjoy the time being with others and getting ideas and feed back but I really hated packing and lugging my stuff every week. I always would need something I had not packed and it was hard for me to prep for it as I usually scrap whatever comes to me as I look through my pictures. Sadly, the group no longer gets together and I have no scrappy friends that are local. I would love to have someone come scrap with me at my place!

Definitely YES!!! I attend several throughout the year because I scrap with different groups of gals. I need my girl time and enjoy playing with my scrappy stuff. I'm pretty good about not bringing the whole kitchen sink because I know my limitations on what I'm going to actually accomplish. I'm focused on bringing specific photos/themes and kits. I want to get pages done but I also enjoy the time socializing and having fun.

I love the idea of going to crops....and I enjoy myself when I am there BUT I don't enjoy the unpacking when I come back. Packing isn't so bad - I plan, and make kits up, and I put thought into the pages/layouts - but there are some days where I walk into my room...and walk straight back out.
I am going to a weekend crop in October - Friday to Sunday - it is the only weekender I do once a year....so I am starting to get excited about that one. But, I go by myself - no buddies etc, just me and I do lots of layouts (no one to talk to!)

I enjoy going to crops every month or so and I'm even cool with going by myself. I won't attend if the crop is less than 10 hours, however. Too much planning and packing involved for less than that amount of time IMO.

I love going to crops, but I realized long ago that I just don't get a lot done. I would come home frustrated by my lack of progress. I can't think creatively and keep up with all of the conversation. So I take stuff for pre-planned cards or stuff that I can do without really thinking about it (cutting stuff out or whatnot). Now I just enjoy the social aspect and seeing what others are working on and I really enjoy it for what it is for me.

I don't like the packing so I have a great system for that. If I don't block out time for crops I won't scrap. At home there are always things to be done. Crops are my getaway and down time.

I love crops. It gives me an opportunity to crop without feeling guilty. I also go with friends. It is great catching up. I try to go to 2 weekend retreats and 2 one day crops a year.

I love going to crops! I love the social part and scrapping. I like the non distracting ( kids, chores, etc) setting to scrap in.

I really enjoy going to crops. I like getting out of the house and socializing with other scrappers. None of my friends scrap so I've been able to make a few new friends going to crops. Packing for them can be a pain, but the past few I've gone to I've just taken whatever Scraptastic kits I have and some things to go with them and it's been a lot easier. I still always bring way to much though!
