I keep wanting to give this show a chance but some of these characters really need a bitch slap like Maddie wanting to rescue that boat load of people and those 3 teenagers ugh could not imagine going thru a ZA with them lol.
I hope tonight's episode isn't so slow to start!

Okay the last 15 mins of the episode was pretty good first 45 not so much.
I had to laugh at how they approached that house even if I didn't have the knowledge we all do of a ZA it cracks me up how trusting these ppl are.
I could see that those pills were going to be a doomsday/Jonestown thing and wondered if they would end up in the wrong hands.
I wonder why Travis and Maddie didn't question Nick on how or why he found those pills.
I had to laugh at Travis reaction to his son Chris and the walkers at the fence he needs to get his head out of his ass.
I don't trust Strand at all I don't think his story is legit.
I despise Lou Diamond Phillips lol.

Just twelve minutes in as I'm on the west coast. I actually like this show better each episode. They'd better wise up fast though.

Started off pretty slow but this was a Decent episode. I like Nick. I've liked him from the beginning. I also like the older man (forgot his name) who stayed to watch strand. He knows what's up.
Travis bugs me but Chris is the one I like least. I liked him more when he was killing the zombies at the fence. Maybe there is hope for him.

Not much to say about the show tonight. Interesting to hear about the napalm up and down the coast. The closing of borders. Wonder if zombies need a special passport.
The stuff about Colorado seemed to me to be right out of Stephen Kings the stand.
Laughed at the comment "you must be from LA, you have that air about you"
Definitely not strands boat. Would love a show on his backstory.
Next week they find the plane. I've waited forever for it to come into play.
That poor boy shooting his mom, with his little brother there.

I thought it was okay. Some things bugged me about it though. The mom of the 2 kids (Willa and Henry) in the house- I didn't buy that she'd be willing to give up her children to go "out there" into the total unknown after such a short amount of time has passed. Has it been 2 weeks since the virus started? I'm not totally sure on the timeline. It just seemed very unlikely to me that she'd give them up like that. Also, what motivated poor Willa to take that pill? I know kids are curious and all that but it just seemed weird that she decided then to take it. And last, how did the mom get outside and onto the dock? Wasn't her husband going to kill her? What happened there?? Without knowing that it seemed too far-fetched that she'd make it out and to the dock like that. Maybe I'm hate-watching it now. Too many things about it just bug me.

I think the mom knew of the dad's plan to poison them all. She said something like he would prefer them to all die together instead of only a few surviving. The one thing that really bugged me was Strand being able to make a phone call. Places are bombed to heck and napalmed - how are you able to call anyone.

See I could buy the giving her kids away because of how the family had been living before the ZA. They were preppers /dooms day or as they called themselves self-reliant. George had a Jonestown out if things went totally south and although Seth was okay with it Melissa the mom didn't want that ending for her kids. I think Willa took the pills out of curiosity because she saw Nick hide them/ they looked colorful like candy and maybe she heard the whole power pill thing from her brother. I think George wasn't going to end Melissa or Willa. I got that impress from his body posture when he told Maddie and Travis to go. The guy had a checking out plan and just lost his wife and kid I think he lost whatever fight he had and let himself be bit. He knew that Harry would be sage and maybe he thought Seth would be able to survive.

I do think this is the best episode so far but it was only ok just it's not saying much. LOL.
I think the mom giving up the kids makes perfect sense. Happens in times of war all the time, and she knew her husband's plan. The kids knew too - when Nick said to the boy that getting shot in the head would never happen to him (after looking at the toys), the boy said he knew because the "power pills" would keep him together with his family. I think Willa knew about the pills too, and caught on that her mom was sending her away so wanted to take the pill to stay with her family.
On a lighter note: Nick's hair is officially making me crazy. We saw him take a shower!! You don't come out of a shower with dirty, stringy heroin-addict hair. I was so excited when I saw him with a wet head because I thought sweet! done looking at that gross hairdo. Whoomp! There it is!...still. Ugh.
Oh, and they should rename this show "Everybody Hates Chris" because God, I hate that kid!!!
ETA: Makes me sad to think Will and Seth were probably heading back there to take their "power pills" so they could all be together.

I thought I liked this show, but now, not so much. It seems like they hired kids to write it! The phone call? really? I would "assume" that there would be no cell towers with all the bombing. But, I know not to assume anything Not sure I'll finish this series.

Did anyone else notice that the mom was the same woman that played Danni on The Shield? I really liked her on The Shield. She was barely there on this show.
eta: I thought the same as others about the phone call. I thought maybe it was a satellite phone or something (like on Jurassic park. lol)

I believe it was a satellite phone... but still. It just seemed so out of place for him to be on any phone when they just bombed all of CA!

that's a good point I hadn't realized about the pills. I thought when he said power pills he meant vitamins. but that's probably where nick got the idea to look for the pills, not that he was scavenging for drugs like it originally looked like.

I hate-watched Season 1, thought the first episode of Season 2 was AWFUL and was pretty much ready to give up. But I have to say last night's episode didn't completely suck. I am going to give it another very grudging chance. BUT OMG to I hate pretty much all of these people! Don't you think, if this complete stranger offered you and your family sanctuary from the end of the world on a fully-stocked luxury yacht no less; that you would all basically follow him around in like a conga line, in case he bent over for you to kiss his butt; or in case he had some kind of chore for you to do and you would be able to trip over each other trying to tackle said chore instantly? I mean WTF is wrong with these people? They act like they're doing him a favor by gracing his boat with their presence. I hate them all. Seriously as far as I'm concerned the best thing that could happen on this show is if next week I'm watching them, singly or as a group, get munched on by zombies and replaced with entirely new people. So yeah, I guess I'm still hate watching.
