Good morning ladies! I finally got some sleep and I feel fantastic!! Not a whole lot planned until this afternoon! The girls have a soccer game and then they're heading to my MIL's. Not sure what dh and I are going to do yet. Everything is holding steady here, so I'm happy with that. Have a great weekend!!

My day is wide open. We are getting a new furnace and ac put in today. Got a freaking killer deal, and ours was over 25 years old.
I am going to clean, do some school things, and then run this evening.
I have been working on eating at least 1/2 my calories back from exercise. That is a ton of food, but I need to maintain and not lose. I feel like I am constantly eating.
Oh, and dd is having some friend issues. Two of her friends totally cut her off last night. She is heart broken. The whole thing is so stupid. Guy friend was snap chatting with her female friends ex boyfriend. Evidently dd let it slip to female friend that he was communicating with the ex. Evidently this is not allowed? Female friend got mad at guy friend and the guy friend and female friend turned on dd because she can't be trusted due to the slip. Male friend then told female friend some things dd had told him in confidence. They said some pretty hateful things.
Dd is left wondering how she is taking the fall for all of it when she was never asked not to say anything about male friend communicating with the ex. She actually thinks the whole thing is stupid because who is to say you can't even talk to the ex? Total stupidity, but such is the life of a teen.
Drama that I am sure will rule the entire weekend. Ughhhhhh.

A beautiful day here. I've already been out working in the yard and will get back outside and do some planting later. I weighed in this morning and found I'd gained a pound this week. Can't say I'm too surprised; I made some poor eating decisions a couple days last week. Still full of resolve and will take it a day-to-day in the coming week.

Ughhhhhh. Oh man, the drama is awful. There's been drama going on within our girls soccer team because there's jealousy issues from a couple of girls towards our star player. Star player isn't primary to our team but plays with us as much as she can. Star player's mom said to my BFF yesterday that if the girls are going to be jealous and snarky, then star player just won't play with us. UGH. It's just crappy all the way around...and we're JUST starting with this. My girls are only 11.

Good morning everyone! Well it is still morning in San Diego! I was up early this morning, I can never seem to sleep past 7 am. So I knocked out my run and then got to some serious spring cleaning. I cleaned out the fridge, took out all of the drawers and shelves to be washed out and wiped down. And of course any mystery food items were thrown out. I also took the grates off of the stove and gave them a good scrub, and wiped down the surface of the stove, it is sparkling now! I have dusted, vacuumed, steam mopped our tile floors, scrubbed toilets, wiped down counter tops and scrubbed out our shower.
Now I am going to hop in the shower, get dressed and reward myself for a productive morning! I need some new white jeans for summer so I will be off to the mall to search for some. Later tonight we are going to my boss' house for a BBQ and a game night. Have a great Saturday everyone!

So nice to be able to replace something before it goes out and is an emergency, when you can get a deal like that. Good morning ladies! I finally got some sleep and I feel fantastic!! Not a whole lot planned until this afternoon! The girls have a soccer game and then they're heading to my MIL's. Not sure what dh and I are going to do yet. Hope you have an awesome relaxing evening and day tomorrow! Glad you got some sleep. I woke up around 4 this morning and couldn't get back to sleep, but also didn't get up and be productive - dumb! Sorry about the pound, but love your attitude! It's one pound, not 10, and easy to reverse, right? Very nice here as well, I need your planting lessons! We had some new landscaping done, which I love, and we had seasonal flowers put in to 5 pretty substantial areas of the landscaping. Totally worth it, because I LOVE the way seasonal color makes a house look fresh and bright, but I know absolutely nothing about planting. To be honest, we'll probably just hire someone to do it a few times a year and refresh the mulch, but it does kill me a little bit to spend that! I'm wondering if we might get some insurance money to clean up the beds after the hail storm (lots of debris, etc), and maybe our contractor's landscaper will give us a deal on refreshing the flowers. Good morning everyone! Well it is still morning in San Diego! I was up early this morning, I can never seem to sleep past 7 am. So I knocked out my run and then got to some serious spring cleaning. Later tonight we are going to my boss' house for a BBQ and a game night. Have a great Saturday everyone! I've heard of LOTS of people doing spring cleaning this weekend!! I put "Tidy closet" on my to-do list, just feels like a good time for it.

Down 2.8 lbs this week, so yay for that. The WW meeting was definitely a little light this week - spring break has been over for weeks here, so that's not the reason. Still a good showing, just not the standing-room-only it was the last few months. I do wonder if lots of people were impacted by the terrible hail storms recently (it is estimated 80% - 12,000 homes - in our town were damaged, mayor has requested disaster status although that is questionable if we'll get it), and maybe either are just too overwhelmed or fell off the wagon due to stress. The people in my meeting who are consistent though are doing so well - had a few people hit 30 lbs lost today (I think joined around the new year) and a couple also hit 10% lost! It's a good group, there are always people making significant progress which is more encouraging than the meetings with only 8 people and there are not many "celebrations" to report every week. I was able to give one of my WW friends who is a similar build to me, but just a few months "behind" me, 2 huge garbage bags of clothes that don't fit me anymore. She really appreciates it and I love having someone specific to give them to! I dropped off another box of stuff at Goodwill, so getting the closet cleared. I went to REI this morning and spent my dividend from last year, bought a little belt/pouch to put my phone/ID/key in when I go out for walks. It is really starting to heat up here, and none of my workout capris or shorts have pockets. I went out for a walk around 1:00, the sun was brutal. It's only around 80 here, but that sun is intense. I'm going to do my best to get walks in earlier before the sun gets so intense. I wore a Hanes "Cooling" long-sleeved shirt of DH's to protect my skin. It seemed to do a pretty good job on both fronts. I was looking around at getting my own, but they're kind of expensive and DH really only wears them for yardwork or days he is out in the sun all day (racing/etc), so I think the few times I need one, we can share. If I walk in the mornings, I shouldn't need that much coverage most of the time. OH, Lularoe! I ended up buying a maxi skirt last night, and then I won a free pair of leggings which was exciting. I got a wild pattern for the leggings since they were free, but I don't really have an appropriate top to wear with them. I'll have to keep an eye out for a tunic. I usually do not like skirts because they ride up, but I have to say this skirt is the best-cut maxi skirt I've ever seen. It looked amazing on everyone at the party, and there was quite a variety of shapes and sizes. It is so comfortable too. When I got home, I was trying it on again, and I went to pull it up over my head instead of over my hips. The consultant had a maxi skirt on as a dress, but she was very flat-chested and I was terribly skeptical. When I was pulling it up, I was like... "Wait... that looks cute!" Now, I don't do strapless because I am quite large-chested and need the bra straps, but I paired it with a belt and a cardigan and it looked good. I was really jazzed, I feel like I got a dress and a skirt for the price of one! Overall a really good experience and I have to say I was more impressed after trying the stuff on in person. The Nicole dress (the one with no pockets) was also extremely flattering, but I already have enough dresses and couldn't justify it for now. I would go again once I'm at or close to goal and buy more items though, and I went in pretty skeptical. I think you have to be somewhat strategic about what you buy in what prints, if you want it to be something you don't get sick of, but the cuts are amazingly flattering, the fabric is legitimately insanely comfortable, and the prices at the party were cheaper than what she charges online (company policy sets prices when they sell online).

Hey girls! It has been a hectic week, but despite all that the scale dropped a bit and that was a pleasant surprise.
I'm home from shooting a competition at my home CrossFit box--1500 pictures later! There's a ton to learn when shooting competitions but I definitely got my workout in scooting around the floor, squatting up and down, and walking all over the competition floor.
DD came home from a sleepover fighting a cold so we snuggled up for a movie and might just stay close to home tomorrow.
Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good day!
I hope that I can wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow. I have been so stressed with this car stuff and am really feeling frustrated with a lot of things. I took yesterday off to get some work done at home as well as for work and spent pretty much the whole day looking at cars. Too much time today has been spent on that as well and I am really crabby with everyone. Incessant whining and the kids always asking for something is driving me crazy. Can't decide if it is worth spending more on a car with the features I want or just get the basic with no Bluetooth, rear camera, navigation, etc. Both plans are more than I wanted to spend and DH is not really interested in shopping around. I hate that each place has to pull your credit and then go through that whole hassle to give you a straight up answer about what the payments will be.
This is one of those weekends where I wish we had grandparents close by to take the kids for some time. I need a break and really just want to clean in peace without people making more messes while I am cleaning.

Good morning everyone! I have been busy entertaining my parents that have been in town from TX. They left before 5 a.m. this morning to drive back. I am SO sad. Their visit was too short. I did pretty well eating except last night and Friday lunch. We went out both of those times so eating wasn't the best. I will weigh-in tomorrow so we will see how I am doing. And its me mg and AN great photos.

Hello!
Late Sunday check in for me. Yesterday I just crashed. I was so tired that I actualy laid on the couch for 2 hours. I never do that. I ended up taking a rest day from exercise - my body and mind was just done.
Today...woke up and felt better which was a good thing cause we had a 5K this morning. There were so many people there that running the whole thing was almost impossible. I was able to run the last half but still had to stop and walk a few times. As much as I like Color Runs I think this will be my last one. I think I am ready for real 5K's now.

Oh, how I've missed you all this past week! I took my students--89 of them to be precise--to Quebec City. 11 hours by bus both ways. It was long. So very long.
I think I did a pretty good job with the eating--breakfast and dinner were included so there weren't a lot of choices. For lunch, I decided I was going to have a couple of dishes I was looking forward to. I take students to Quebec every two years, so it's not something I get to have all the time. I had some lovely macaroons--2 total. I also had crepes stuffed with roast beef, swiss chesse, onions, and bechemel sauce. It was so yummy! I also had an Elk burger and fries. Oh.ma.gah! So, so good! I won't have any of this over the next 2 years, so I'm totally ok with it.
There's A LOT of walking when we do these trips. I never had a day lower than 10,500 steps--and the day I hit 10,500 was when we did a bus tour more than a walking tour. My best day I walked 7 miles. Oh, and did I mention it's ALL FREAKING HILLS in Quebec City? Great for a fortified city in the New World in the 1600s; not so fun in 2016!
I didn't get nearly enough water in though. It was pretty cool and the thought of water was not very appetizing. I am going to make sure I'm getting in a lot of it this week. Missed my weigh-in yesterday, so I'm looking forward to seeing what it will be this coming Saturday. I'll do a quick weight check tomorrow morning just to get an idea of where I am, but I feel good.
All that walking made me feel really great--even with all those hills! I've already made plans to walk with a friend Monday and Thursday after work. I'm much better at doing my exercise when I have an "appointment" to do so. Hoping I can get my exercise groove back!

Hey all!
It's late Sunday night, I had an insane weekend.
I spent all day yesterday prepping for an event today. It was 15 local restaurants handing out samples of their food. Attendees paid $40 per ticket to come sample, and all the money goes to our local hospital.
So I made 200 cake samples - chocolate cake with caramel in the middle and chocolate icing, and then about 140 lemon macaron. I have a full tray of cake samples left, and 1/3 of a tray of the macaron, so I froze them all for use another time.
It was a crap shoot day for me food wise. I traded samples with a few other vendors (lol the first to approach me were the beer guys - "would you like to trade dessert for a beer" REALLY dumb question dude lol) so I've had a chicken pot pie, creamy mushroom something or other on a crustini, a deep fried potato croquette, a crepe sample with nutella & a banana slice, and then a few yummy things from a healthy cafe that were gluten free/dairy free. All sample sizes, so really hard to count on MFP, so I'm just going to leave it.
The young chef next to me has a great restaurant. He changes his menu every week, and it isn't just "salad", it is "blah blah with a foam of this and a smear of that, with XXXX on top" kind of thing. It is a price fixe place, so one fee for the appetizer, dinner & dessert. We've been a few times, he comes to the table and tells you everything on the plate. He's amazing. He was handing out stew today - he had me at jerk rabbit, but lost me at the word curry. DH came to help me pack up at the end of the day and had some, he said it was excellent. I'll take his word for it.
Sorry if I've bummed you all out with my food chatter!!

If you need a handy, pre-portioned summer treat -- highly recommend the Breyer's Carbsmart Ice Cream bars! They have regular ice cream, vanilla with a chocolate coating, and then what I got was the chocolate fudge bars. VERY good!

I usually do not like skirts because they ride up, but I have to say this skirt is the best-cut maxi skirt I've ever seen. It looked amazing on everyone at the party, and there was quite a variety of shapes and sizes. It is so comfortable too. Awesome! I love my LLR leggings. I have a few pairs now. Usually I just wear a larger t-shirt. I just ordered another maxi skirt. My friend did the dress trick with her maxi and it looked really cute on her (and it looks cute on you too!) I'll have to remember to check out my local consultant when she has a party again - I've bought everything online so far. As for me, I had a busy weekend! Ran my first 8 mile run on Saturday morning. I wanted to get a long run in and a friend was looking for someone to do 8 miles with her, so I told her I'd do it. We had a great time. That, along with the two miles I ran mentoring the beginning 5K group and an impromptu one mile run with a group of my friends at 10 pm Saturday night (just for fun!) gave me a total of 11 miles for the day My fitbit recorded over 32,000 steps - a record for me! Today, my training group got together to do a 45 minute bike ride, followed by run in a 5k race. Temperature was much warmer today than we have had so far this spring. I didn't run the race very quickly (I'm never very fast, but I intentionally kept a slower pace today) to make sure I could complete the run without needing walking breaks, taking into consideration how much I ran yesterday plus just riding over 8 miles on my bike. My plan worked - I was able to complete the run. I remember last summer when running a 5k in that same amount of time would have been a stretch, so I am making progress. One thing that really helped me - last Thursday, my training group had a workshop on nutrition/hydration for runners. We talked about the need for electrolytes in addition to the need for hydration. One of the suggestions was an electrolyte tablet (instead of electrolyte drinks like Nuun or Gatorade). I bought a sample pack and tried them yesterday and today. I did feel a noticeable change in how I felt during the run; I had some issues with muscle cramping in my runs the week before and I didn't have them this weekend. Here's an article on electolytes for runners: runnersconnect.net/running-nutrition-articles/electrolytes-for-runners/
