FBI VaultThey have the files on different famous people, etc. that are scanned and online now. I just read Marilyn Monroe's. She really did have a lot of communist ties and asked the Kennedys questions that were really interesting and intelligent. She was also trying to get a visa to go to Moscow. I don't think she *was* communist, but I think she was more interested in politics that people thought. She was more than just a pretty face/body. Charles Lindberg's file is 129 pages. I've just read the first few, but they're about his Nazi ties. One letter says that the US should just deport him since he "admires them so much". The author says that Lindberg took an oath of allegiance to Hitler. These files are super interesting. I got the link off Reader's Digest's site. They say that you can request your own file. Huh.

Fascinating. And disturbing at the same time. I've read some ' not very flattering' things about Lindbergh in the past. I'm really interested in reading those files.
I just read some of the Jim Jones pages. Very interesting to read the words of individuals closely involved with the People's Temple and what they believed.
Thanks for the link. "Rabbit Hole" indeed!

I have *always* wanted to request my file. I visited the Soviet Union many times and have been back to Russia several more times. Would be interesting to see what they have on me.

I knew Lindbergh visited Germany in 1937-38. He liked their airship and new aircraft designs. I knew that there were rumours that he was sympathetic to Germany in the 30s, but didn't realize what the truth really was. There is also a small file on Princess Diana for when she first visited NYC in the early 80s. The FBI was worried about the IRA. There was also a letter about someone who contacted the FBI when someone she knew said that he had mailed a bomb to Prince Charles and Princess Diana as a 'wedding present'. I would be interested in my dad's file. He trained dogs for the military, customs, and law enforcement for years. He was contacted by the government after 9/11 and asked to go back to training dogs. He trained the first tunnel and bomb detection dogs used in Vietnam. That was his contribution after he was rejected from the military for flat feet.

Lindbergh was not the American hero we were taught he was.

I can see myself spending way too much time over there. I just read a few little things about UFOs. Interesting that the first article I read was from my own town. Can't wait until I have time to go back.

Great find! I had to laugh at the investigation of the song "Louie Louie" though.
