I've seen on several threads about hair that peas say they use Moroccan oil. Is it in shampoo form, conditioner, cream, etc? I'd like to try it for my short, wispy and thinning hair but I'm confused as to which to use. TIA!

It's good for dry hair and cuts down on frizz without being too weighty. I just rub a few drops into my hand and rub onto my wet hair. My stylist overdid it and my hair looked smooth but flat.
I'm not sure how it would be for thin/wispy hair.

I use One and Only Argan Oil from Sally. It comes in a flat brown bottle and it is oil. I just comb in a tiny bit after I rinse. It does come in a creamy conditioner form, but I didn't like it.

I use the Moroccanoil brand, "light" - it's simply a very lightweight oil or serum-like liquid. 1-2 drops rubbed on my hands and then through the ends of my hair - avoid your scalp. It makes it non-frizzy and smooth, and it smells really good.

I have curly hair, and I use the Moroccanoil Treatment Light. It does a great job of minimizing frizz and defining curls without weighing my hair down. I use 2 pumps of the oil after every wash.

I use it in a "hair oil" form... looks like oil. A small amount in the palm of my hand, rub hands together then rub both hands through my hair. My hair is extremely dry and curly. The oil helps control the friz so it lays in nice curls/waves instead of looking frizzy. I don't k now what form you need it in.

Moroccanoil is the brand name that introduced moroccan hair oil in salons. They make oil, shampoo and conditioners for various hair types. I personally like the oil, not the shampoos, conditioners or other styling products. Here is the oil:

I use the bottle of oil and like other above have said, I rub a small amount in my palms and apply to the ends of my damp hair. I use it once in a while on dry hair, if I need to keep wisps down.

You might've better off just using a few drops of coconut oil rubbed in your palms and into wet hair. The Moroccan oils can get heavy over time a build up and make hair textured and looking oily. I made my niece use a clarifying shampoo to counteract her usage of Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner

I use the cream lotion. Just a drop and run through my hair before I blow dry.

I use Moroccanoil (brand) Intense Curl Cream. It comes in a pump bottle, and it's opaque, like lotion. A tiny bit keeps the frizz tamed.
I hate the smell, though. It doesn't smell *bad*, really, but it's not at all a "me" smell, and it's strong and distinctive. I'd rather smell like my bath products of choice, thankyouverymuch.

I made my niece use a clarifying shampoo to counteract her usage of Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner That wasn't caused by the oil itself. Her problem was caused by the other ingredients in the shampoo and conditioner. The oil itself is a very light oil but start adding in other ingredients you can get build up from them. and the poster above me is right that it does have a rather strong and very distinctive smell. I happen to like the smell but not everyone does.

The Moroccan Oil and argan oil is too heavy for me.
I do use Redken Diamond Oil. They have a blend that's formulated for fine hair. I think it's also a bit less expensive. I put in on my scalp and then comb it through the rest of my hair and then put a bit more right on the ends. I leave it on overnight, and it absorbs really well and doesn't leave my pillow greasy like the straight argan oil I bought did.
Moroccan Oil has silicone and other stuff in it. They also reduce frizz.

I agree with the others, Moroccanoil probably isn't going to do anything good for fine/whispy hair. The oil is an actual oil, it's thick and greasy and heavy. I have thick naturally curly hair that tends frizz and it is also highlighted. I use the oil because it weighs my hair down and tames the frizz...even then I was initially a bit worried about actual oil in my hair would look - but my hair seems to just soak it right up. I did once use a sample of another brand and that one make it look like I had greasy hair, but the original Moroccanoil (the one in the photo above) doesn't do that and it's the one I've used for several years now. I doubt this would be the right product for you - or you'd just need to use a tiny amount (literally a few drops) and work it through really well. But it's an expensive trial if you don't like it! Of course you could always send the rest to me if that happens....

Moroccanoil is available in tiny samples at the salons that carry it - Pjaye has a good point, try some before you commit.
My hair is very fine, but also wavy, that's why I use it - it helps overcome the humidity as well. A very little goes a long way. I still have both the tiny sample I bought that's maybe 0.3 oz and also the full bottle, that's 1 oz or so.

I have fine, thin, whispy hair and I still use Moroccan oil. I use the light version, use a tiny amount rubbed between my palms, and I apply it to the mid point to the ends of towel dried hair. Once I blow dry my hair I may also use a tiny amount to take the baby hairs at the crown of my head. I couldn't get away with a full pump of the stuff, but used sparingly it is really nice. It takes me a year to go through a bottle so it is worth the price tag.

About once a week I slather on the Restorative Mask and leave it on for about 45 minutes. That is after shampooing with Organix coconut oil shampoo. The shampoo seems to get rid of any build-up without really drying out my hair. The condition of my hair is enough to impress the hair dresser who sells lots of expensive products. Sally's always has this conditioner on a buy 2 get 1 free deal along with other products in this line.
My hair is fine, but not wispy.

I have really curly hair that's gotten really dry lately. So I put a good amount of oil in my hair as soon as I get up. I brush my teeth and get some things ready for work, pull out clothes. Then I get in the shower and wash my hair. When I say wash, I only use shampoo twice a week. The other times I just use a tee tree/lavender conditioner and leave it on the whole time I shower. It works for my hair.
I have learned that you have to figure out just how much oil your hair can take and in what form. So it's a case of trial and error. Ask for some samples at your local stores and try it out for a week and see what happens before you buy big bottles.

Costco carries a great shampoo and conditioner -- Orlando Pita Argan Oil. The shampoo actually comes with a small bottle of oil which is the lightest I've tried. Great shine, not heavy.
I also love Organix shampoo/conditioner with Moroccan Oil.
