I don't really care about a lot of the upgrades or special features. Not because I don't think they aren't cool or useful but more because I just never seem to use them. I guess I am just a plain Jane car girl. As long as it is dependable and gets me were I want to go I am pretty satisfied. I just just bought a new car in December and really didn't have a long list of wants. Most new cars have the back up cameras so I think that is standard equipment now But the few things I did want were: AWD and a high ground clearance. (Because of our weather and driving home from work at midnight when a lot of places aren't plowed) Back seats that folded down almost flat to create a big cargo area heated seats (It wasn't on my list of wants when I was looking but now that I have had them for a winter I always want them) a moon roof or sun roof an okay sound system. Radio & CD especially. I don't have a smart phone so for now all the interactive/blue tooth stuff doesn't matter, but again they seem to be pretty standard now days. What I didn't get but will probably purchase soon is the molded car mats that cover the whole floor, especially if you are in a place that has a winter climate or a lot of rain and mud. It is amazing how well they protect your floor. and that's it. Sorry I can't think of any snazzy enhancements for you to check out. Good luck on finding a car. I hate car shopping with a passion.

You live in Minnesota. If it hasn't been said already, you need rear window defrosters. (Although I think those are mostly standard these days.) Even if you normally park indoors, you will invariably need them at the grocery store or some other place you want to back out of a parking stall in January.

I'd like to own a car one day that has keys that lock and unlock the vehicle automatically (key fob thing). My expectations are low.

I have owned 2 dodge grand caravans in a row. a 2006, and now a 2012. When I bought the 2012, I gave the 2006 to my sister, who is still driving it (just in case you are concerned about reliability.)
I Love my 2012, it's fully loaded and the things I love are: the blind spot sensors (a little triangle shows up on my mirrors if someone is in my blind spot), the push button close on the back (on the 2006 you have to manually close it or use the remote), I have cloth seats, but they are heated- both the first and second rows. I love that both rows of seats fold flat into the floor. I love the zone heating- you can have different temps set for driver, passenger, and back), The back up camera (I have no idea how I functioned without one on the 2006). And I love all the storage- 2 glove boxes, the box between the seats, and a box up near the front between the seats.
I would highly recommend a Dodge Caravan. A great value for the money.

Now that I have one, a backup camera is a must for me. The added safety from that is worth the extra cost. DH says it would have saved him lots of money for bumpers over the past 30+ years. I also like the front, side and rear sensors my Lexus has. Worth it. I would also require safety features like side airbags. My favorite fluff feature are the heated/cooled front seats. Things that I have but could live without - bluetooth, sunroof, leather seats.

My must haves: Heated leather seats Lots of charge ports Sunroof, the closer to convertible the better. I use it every day! A plug for my laptop/flat iron. I travel a lot and sometimes have to freshen up before a training and I get a ton of work done on road trips so I love that my computer battery doesn't die. I also need Bluetooth. I duo a lot of business coaching calls while I'm driving. Voice control is fab. Things I really enjoy on my car that I didn't know I was going to love: Air conditioned seats in the front. No summer swamp ass. Heated second row seats- the boys love them and it's nice when I'm traveling with adults. Pull up sunshades in the second row. They're like the baby shades that roll up but they roll into the door. Everyone is fascinated by them. A hatch sensor: when I've got my hands full I can just stand behind my vehicle for 3 seconds and it auto opens. I like not having to stand on one foot and kick something. Programmable hatch- in my former vehicle I had to jump to hit the button to close the back. I can set the height so it's short enough for me to reach and we enjoy being able to program it low enough that were not in anyone else's way Ast the drive in movies. Blow up mattress and were good for a make out session

I must have heated seats. Never knew this until the last vehicle we purchased. The heated seats ease my poor Fibro riddled body.
We have blue tooth and the rear camera too. The rear camera is nice. However, I don't care much for potential ease of reliance on the thing. When the lens gets dirty, it interferes with seeing anyway. It's all spotty. Then it dries spotty.
Bluetooth...I don't use it. My husband and son do for Pandora. Plus, my husband has his phone hooked up for bluetooth. I don't have Pandora on my phone. I enjoy my CDs in the car. LOL! And, I loathe my phone hooked up through bluetooth.

I ended up finding a 2015 Town and Country that has the camera, Bluetooth, and some other features for $400 more than the other Caravan that didn't have those things, so we go that yesterday! We had a 2007 Caravan. There have been a few things that have broken down (my drivers seat broke around the bottom and last week the chain/track that makes the door open and close broke so DH had to rig it). We hadn't had any other major issues, until last week when we found out the compressor was broken. Not worth it to fix it, IMO. That van had 179,000 miles on it. It was a decent car.

Our Lincoln Continental was totaled in December. I can tell you the two things I miss the most.
1. Climate control. You set the temperature you want and the car does what it needs to maintain the temperature. The only thing we would have to do was adjust the fan speed if we wanted more or less air flow.
2. Seat memory. The car had settings for each driver. When you unlocked the car with your key fob, it knew which driver you were. Then it adjusted the seat, mirrors, etc to that driver's last settings. LOVED this. DH and I need different settings for just about each setting on the seats.
The self-dimming mirrors are not bad either. Our new rig has the backup beeping. We are really learning to appreciate that. We also really liked how the headlights adjusted when you turned on the blinkers so that there was more illumination to that side

Absolutely don't need but don't care if it's included: Sunroof. Am I the only person in the world who NEVER uses the sunroof?! My DH doesn't either. I, on the other hand, LOVE a sunroof! Must have include: back-up camera volume and radio controls on the steering wheel heated seats dual temperature control (DH and I are usually 10 degrees apart)
