I work in the garden. Or lose myself in a book, but I have to be careful - some books can just feed it, so the subject has to be right.

I self medicate myself and I feel better. My counselor tells me that I have come along way since I have started medicating myself. I will be getting my card soon so I can self medicate any time any where with in reason. Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about, but when I did I snort-laughed. I wish I could self-medicate that way. I got my card a while ago and was really hopeful. Unfortunately I can't stand the smell/taste and turns out I don't like the feeling of being even slightly high, either. Glad it helps you, though.

Depending on what exactly has me upset, I usually journal, have a good cry, and take a bath, while listening to good music. Unfortunately what has me upset lately is the lack of progress on installing my new bathtub (6 months and counting), so taking the bath part is not happening.....

I cannot function without antidepressants. But when I am very stressed or feel depression slipping in, I like to have a long nap, order out some food for delivery, and either read a book or binge watch something on TV.
I just love to have nothing weighing on me - just the freedom of not having to be anywhere or do anything.

I get out of the house - usually that means Yosemite. I love taking my camera up there, hiking and taking pictures. I get so much joy from being up there.

Thanks for the replies, everyone! I love having this forum to depend on.
I knew my mood would change by morning (it did) it's just that at the time, about 10 pm and already in bed, not many of those things were doable. I ended up crying myself to sleep.
But I have some more things to put on my list, so I'm very happy!

I eat dark chocolate. Almost always lifts my mood.
Sometimes I diffuse lavender essential oil or a blend with lavender in it.
Watching funny YouTube videos helps, too.

A nice hot long bath. Sometimes bubbles sometimes not depending how I feel physically or mentally. It so helps in the keeping relaxed.
It may sounds silly but cartoons. I like the lighthearted animation stuff. Sometimes I'll watch anything from the Simpons, Tom&Jerry or a Disney animation.
Music really loud is my go to. I like the hard stuff AC/DC, Aeresmith etc.. the old stuff. The louder the better. It drowns out the noise in my head. And it totally depends on what got the mood going.
Coloring is my newest. Mostly at night so I can relax and settle down - espeically if I'm really stressed or upset and can't sleep. I use the color apps and I print them out just depends.
I'm not an eater in fact I do the opposite. I don't eat when I'm in a mood.

They also have edibles and beverages for people who don't like to smoke it. I actually use a vaporizer when I smoke it most of the time. I do use a pipe but I like the vaporizer much more. I do have to smoke outside because Amanda is allergic to it and can't have it any where near her. I can't wait until I can get the edibles. It does help with the pain. It also helps with my social phobia, my panic attacks and my anxiety, it also keeps my migraines in control. I am thanking god that it is now legal in Oregon. But I flat refuse to drive after smoking.

1. I go outside! Either to work in the yard or walk to the park. 2. Play with my dogs 3. pray 4. sit in hot tub
If all else fails, drink wine while sitting in hot tub!

But I flat refuse to drive after smoking. We (dd and I) may give it a last effort. I know she wants to try vaping as this was suggested to her. Our local store only has mixed cdb/thc. We have to go to a really good medical marijuana store where people truly know the products; the one MM store I went to, the women who worked there were no help at all. We've tried several different edibles, and there are a couple I can just about tolerate. But unfortunately the best flavor to cover the taste is chocolate, and chocolate actually gives me worse migraines. Such a bummer. But your post does make me want to try again. Thanks!
