That sounds like a typical fiber episode to me. I get like that where taking a shower is painful when the water touches me and I have wear loose fitting clothing that won't hurt as badly. The fatigue can be overwhelming to where you sleep for a few days at a time, only getting up for bathroom breaks and maybe to eat a bit if someone brings it to you.
Have you been evaluated for fibromyalgia? You can do a bit of a self test by finding a chart with the tender points on it. Have someone press on these spots with just enough pressure to turn the skin whitish, not a firm or deep press. If you feel like you cannot stand the pain that those gentle touches bring you, you should be evaluated by a doctor and start up on a regimen to best minimize the pain.

I too was thinking autoimmune. My BFF here has RA and she had pain just like that right after she had her baby. She couldn't move, every joint hurt, she couldn't walk or have a sheet on her. It was terrible! Anyway, the joint thing made my spidey sense jump as it could be autoimmune. Most in my Mom's RA support group got something in their early 40s.

Muscle and joint pain & fatigue? If I had to, I would guess fibromyalgia (possibly polymyalgia if you're over 50).

this is not meant to disparage anyone that does have fybromyalgia and other auto immune issues-those are very real conditions/diseases.
I spent a couple years with debilitating joint pain and severe fatigue. I had many doctor appointments, rheumatologists, blood tests, etc etc and they could never find anything wrong. It was so frustrating. I was taking daily medication for the pain. Nothing seemed to help. All the medical folks felt I had an auto immune disease that was as yet, not identified. at no point did anyone ask me what I was eating, and whether I was exercising. My pain and suffering was REAL and constant.
I finally decided to try radically altering my diet by cutting out HFCS, processed foods limiting red meat and eating a lot more vegetables. I also started juicing vegetables. I started supplementing with Vitamin D and magnesium and started exercising again. I cut my dairy intake by more than 75% reduced my diet soda consumption, and started drinking lots of water.the change was really dramatic. I don't want to imply that very real medical conditions can be cured by diet and exercise-I know it's not that simple for a lot of people. What I do want to say is most people do not realize the profound effect that diet and exercise can have for chronic issues. I was shocked and kind of pissed that none of the medical providers I was seeing had ever suggested lifestyle changes-instead we did more tests, tried new meds, etc.
I don't know anything about your diet, but I do want to point out that when you hear hoofbeats, it may not be zebras, it might just be horses, like it was in my case. I think most people don't realize that things like diet and exercise aren't just things that make you healthier, they are things that, for some folks, can cause very real, and very painful conditions that are completely reversible. I "knew" about nutrition, I "knew" about exercise, what I didn't know was the lack of both could cause so much pain and fatigue.
you should definitely seek medical help, as it's entirely possible that it is needed, but wanted to provide another perspective and I hope you can find some relief.

It could be a virus; if so, you should be better in a few days. So let's hope it's that. My daughter had these symptoms about 10 days ago and I'm pretty certain it was viral.
As others have mentioned, fibromyalgia can cause this kind of pain.
Are you by any chance taking any medication for osteoporosis prevention? Have you recently started or stopped taking any prescription meds?

fibromyalgia
Or.......low grade inflammation. You might try taking turmeric capsules for a few weeks and see if it helps.
