We have been to those places except NYC and Washington. Loved loved loved Monterey Bay Aquarium and MB in general. Have a great time!

Sounds like a great trip! I'm in the middle of a LA - San Francisco - Monterey trip myself, college shopping with DD and being a tourist in my own state.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium was absolutely amazing. Some of the Monterey hotels have 2-day tickets for the price of one. It was nice since we got to town late in the day, went in the evening before they closed, then again this morning before we headed out.
We drove down the coast, had lunch at Nepenthe in Big Sur, and are currently in San Luis Obispo, ready to hit the Thursday night farmers market.
The weather has been fabulous. You'll have lots of company from around the world. We've heard just about every language you can imagine being spoken. Tourist season is in full swing. I hope you enjoy your trip!

We 're here! Thanks for all the good wishes (& the Macy's discount card tip!). Very excited on not a lot of sleep...but everyone else is still sleeping so at least I'm "resting"! For the Chicagoans...we did visit your city briefly 3 years ago & will be seeing the White Sox play the Giants - will that do?! Off to see Lady Liberty today amongst other adventures  |

Another very green refupea here! Have a wonderful time. I have to do the whole US visa thing soon and I am dreading it. Many of my friends had endless trouble and the stories are stuck in my head.
Do you scrap? Even if you don't, we need to see some pictures!
