I've always called those potatoes red potatoes, not baby potatoes. I use them almost exclusively, those and the yellow Yukon or the tiny fingerling potatoes. The taste is outstanding even plain. I like the red potatoes with sour cream, soy sauce and diced green onions. Same! I don't think I've ever seen a large red potato before so I just assumed all reds were small.

maryland : It was the April 25 th issue annnd once again, I have to say-----HOW have I missed these yummy potatoes alll these years that I've loved cooking and finding new recipes !?!?! I have cooked with red / new potatoes before; but not this boiling/ smashing / roasting way, nor had I ever heard of/ noticed these cute creamy baby ones. Whoever mentioned buying the smallest RED ones since the baby ones are pricey---YES! I did the same thing yesterday when I went back to the store to get more! Several times, I've ordered roasted potatoes in restaurants, and they are always disappointing between not enough roasting time and/or not enough seasoning.
