LOL.
Yup, I know it's pretty early.
I'm 99% sure I'll do one again this year. I just love the cohesiveness of it. I love that it's small enough to make in a relatively small amount of time. I love that it's all theme-y.
And I find that I really like looking back on the other two I've made so far.
I'm already trying to think of what color theme I want to use.
The first year I did turquoise, aqua, and silver.
Second (last) year, I used traditional red & green, with pink thrown in.
All I know is that I will want to go non-traditional colors again.
So, anyone else thinking about their DD yet?

Me! Lol! This will be the first year I do DD. I don't think it's a project I'd want to tackle every year, but I really love the idea of getting a detailed record of one of DS's holidays while he's at the "everything Christmas is magical" age. Don't you think it would be fun to look back on that as an adult?! I wish I had a record like that! So I decided I'd try to do one for him in 2016. I put together a kit of goodies after Christmas in January. I had lucked upon some amazing after Christmas scrappy sales, like 70-90% off Christmas stuff, and I figured I should put it all together so I didn't forget about it. Then I found an awesome 6x12 album at the Studio Calico sale for $2.50 that is going to be what I use. I need to buy some extra page protectors for it, but otherwise I'm pretty excited to have found the format I'll use! My kit for this year has Aqua, wintery pale blue, red, celery-ish green and cream. Plus silver and gold - I'm actually not sure which I'll end up using so I put both in there. Now whenever I run across something in my stash or at Tuesday Morning, etc., I throw it in the box. That's as far as I've gotten But when December rolls around I'll be ready! I think I'll probably scrap as I go as much as I can and then finish it off in January after the craziness has died down.

You have a fantastic kit in the making! Good for you grabbing stuff on sale. And you're right, capturing those magical young memories is the best part. One of my favorite parts of my two DDs is my younger daughter's wish lists, written in her hand.

THIS year's? Ha ha ha ha ha! No. I need to be thinking about the last three years I'm behind on before thinking about what to do for the December that is more than six months away! I took all the photos, wrote down journaling, saved the memorabilia, just never made the books. I could almost have my scrapper card revoked for that!

I'm nowhere near that organised - I usually start thinking about mine in late Nov and often pull together my kit in the first week of Dec. I love the finished project - I have the last 8 years documented this way. Over the years I've used traditional and non traditional colour schemes and usually wait until quite late in the year to decide. A couple of years ago I did a mostly pink album and pulled all sorts of pink papers from my stash then just added some Christmas embellishments to pull it all together.

I think a DD would be awesome for saving those Christmas memories of your little ones while they're still small enough for the "magic" of the holidays. Actually, I've only done one DD (for 2014). I'd thought of doing one last year but just couldn't get into it then, and I'm not sure about it this year either. But when I considered it, I had thought of using the Fancy Pants Brag book (in red). I liked the idea of the lined pages with the pocket and acetate pages. Anyone else use one of these for your DD?

The only real thought I've given to it is that "I have too much Christmas stuff!" I've been trying to reorganize all my stuff by colors, instead of my current method of leaving kits together or having a drawer just for Christmas. There's just too much stuff. I really, really hope I hate everything released this year.

I did one. It was the year that grammadee gave a group of us one word a day: icicle, evergreen, music, etc. That gave me a focus for every day. Without that guidance, I don't think I would ever do one. We don't have kids and there usually isn't enough going on to document. Maybe this year I'll try and take a photo a day and see.

I'm certainly thinking about my 2015 DD. My Christmas planner for 2016, that's another thing. I've begun to set it up and start planning. Here's the cover page.

I know I will be doing one this year...thats about all the thinking about it that I have done.
I also will probably be using Ali's kit this year. It just makes like easier when I use a kit.
This is my oldest son's last christmas at home before moving to college so I really want to make this work again.

Yes, I'm always thinking about Christmas. I will likely buy Ali's kit again this year, even though I have a ton of Christmas stuff. I like each Christmas to have a different feel and color scheme, so I'll add some other new stuff as well.

I like each Christmas to have a different feel and color scheme, so I'll add some other new stuff as well. I'm guilty of buying almost all of those DD kits from Ali. Love the mini kits she released, from different designers. So they are sitting on my scrap desk, my DD photos are printed and sorted in order ever since New Year's. 'All' I have to do now is to put things into pocket pages. I hope I'll get the time this summer. I don't think I've ever been this late working on my DD. Christmas supplies - my weakest point. Cannot resist the temptation. LOL! I also have October Afternoon's December kits from 2014 ready to go (I picked them up on discounted sale in fall 2015). I was going to use those for 2015, but then Ali came along with all those cute kits. I really hope she will release something ugly for 2016 so I don't have to have it. Hahaha. On the other hand... since OA have now ceased to exist, I should probably hoard the OA December kits for a 'very special' year some time in the future?

No on the DD. But I'm on day 5 of a photo a day for June. It's been a few years since I've done a month album. My kids are so much bigger and life has dramatically changed, so I'm excited to get this month recorded!

y'all crack me up with having so much Christmas stuff. I literally have one little box of stuff. No whole sheets of paper. I do have a couple of stamps but not many since I sold/gave away all of them this past winter.
Having too many options just makes it to where I can't get anything done.

I love having unlimited options. It makes me creative when I have a lot of stuff to choose from. If I only have a few items to choose from I get sad and don't know what to do with them. It's so interesting how creativity works in different ways.

y'all crack me up with having so much Christmas stuff. I literally have one little box of stuff. I don't have a bunch of Christmas stuff either. I like to buy new for each year, and I only buy a little bit so that I can use it all up. That is with the exception of the two sets of stamps with matching dies I have, and three or four dollar bin rubber stamps.

Christmas stuff is my crack I am pretty picky about what I get, but I always overbuy so it ends up as a stash of goodies. Ha. For my DD kit that I have going, I did pull in non-Christmas papers from my regular stash to mix in with the colors I'm using. Patterns like chevrons, dots, etc.

I'm not sure if I'll do a separate album or add pages to my regular one. However, I have plenty of DD and other Christmas supplies to be going on with - I stocked up in some sales last year. I am spending Christmas and New Year with my brother, sister-in-law and 3 year old niece so I probably will have lots of photos this year for a change.
I did do a separate album last year and quite enjoyed it - and I have one more 6x8 handbook left, so maybe that's the way to go.

The brag books are good for doing journaling, and the sleeves & pockets are great for collecting photos and other items. I have used them for travel journals. Thinking it it would take the pressure off of creating the DD. You could journal each day, then add photos when you had more time. A planner-- like the carpe diem ones with photo sleeves--might be a good way to go, too. I plan to use the CD October pages for my trip in the fall. Guess I could use their December pages for a DD. The thing is that in my life, there are many days of "nothing special happening" and then BANG! It all happens at once. Lots of days in December I don't take any photos at all, so the planner with quick notes might work for me: "baked almond cookies", "put the Christmas cloth on the table". paperpilekitten , I love your planner intro page.

I used that Dr. Suess quote inside my Christmas Cards 2 years ago...DH and I always struggle to find a Christmassy message that is meaningful but not sickly-sweet or overly enthusiastic, and that one is perfect DD: I complete my PREVIOUS year in October/November. It helps me get into the season, and new materials are out if I want to supplement my sizable Christmas stash. So, in October, I'll start 2015's album But I participate in Shimelle's JYC, and keep a detailed journal so everything I want in my DD is well recorded!

I had great plans for 2015. I was going to do WITL the week of Christmas instead of DD. Had all my supplies. Started on Sunday. Took lots of pictures of holiday prep. Same on Monday. Tuesday morning I woke up with the flu. Was sick and in bed sleeping for the next 4 days. I was barely past toast and tea by the time Christmas arrived. So needless to say, I abandoned my 2015 plans.
So, to answer your question, yes, I am thinking about 2016. I'll try another WITL Christmas edition. Without the flu.

My first DD I did was about my Christmas ornaments. I did it in the project life app and it was fun and simple.
The second year I did it about Christmases past--and pulled pix from my fiancé extra photos box.
This year I don't know what I will do but I'm thinking a recipe themed album with pix and stories of my favorite recipes...and the recipes. Lol I love thanksgiving-Christmas because I love cooking for people.
