Either the Alta or the Blaze.

I got the Fitbit One because I knew I wouldn't want to wear it on my wrist daily.

I have the Fitbit Charge HR which tracks your heart rate as well as your steps. The Charge has a display that will show your daily steps, HR, flights of stairs, distance, sleep and calories burned. You don't need to carry your cell phone around all the time in order for it to track. You can sync it to your phone(or computer) at any point and it will upload all your data.

I have the Blaze and love it. I've used a Fitbit for years.

I just got the Charge HR, because I wanted to heart rate data. It's not perfect, but it's good enough.

The Blaze also tracks your heart rate and you can change out the bands. I don't like that the charge hr is just one band. I work for a company that sells fitbits and the charge hr is our most returned item due to defects.

I just got the Alta after accidentally washing my One. I like it ok. It seems to track the steps more accurately than the One and you can choose what it displays. It also shows texts if it's close enough to your phone.
I liked that the One didn't show. I would clip it to my bra and it didn't show. I didn't want a watch and the Alta on the same wrist (or both wrists) and I like that the Alta has the time on it. But sometimes I really have to tap on it to get the display to come up.
If I got another, I'd probably go back to a One. I don't really need all the extras, although they are nice.

I've got an Alta and I really like if. I love that it'll vibrate when I get a phone call or text (and, the caller ID or text will scroll across the screen) because I frequently miss my phone going off.
I do wish it was slightly better about displaying the screen when I tap it; sometime it takes several taps. No idea why. I would recommend getting a rubber "keeper" for the band because the strap fastener isn't the greatest. That little keeper fixes the problem.

I have the One. I like it because it's not on my wrist. I can clip it on to my waistband, bra strap or keep it in my pocket.

Cannes - what is this "keeper" you speak of? I've got an Alta and I like it, but the little prong thing fell off my strap. Not sure how to fix that.

I got a Garmin one because I hate having to charge it every few days. This one has a battery that is supposed to last a year. I like it a lot,Mir is backlight so it is easy to see and seems very accurate.

I think the wrist band ones are ugly. I definitely don't want to wear any fitness tracker on my wrist, therefore I currently have the One and if something happened to that, I'd get the same model again. I also don't need anything more than steps/distance/sleep. The heart rate function is just an expensive gimmick if you aren't a runner or a more serious athlete, if you are just using it for walking & general exercise motivation, then you don't need it...the heart rate function bumps up the price quite a bit.
I've had my current One for 2 years and never had a problem with it.

I'd get a fitbit one or just the zip if you want it for steps. I had the charge hr and it was not accurate for steps at all. It did not calculate steps when pushing a grocery cart or stroller. Also if I was carrying things in my arms it didn't count steps. You have to have your arms free. I returned it because of that.
Check out the fit bit website forums for a lot of info.

I just switched from fitbit Zip to a Garmin Vivofit 2. I did quite a bit of research but what sold me was the 1 year battery life and you don't have to charge it every day. I didn't need a GPS etc, I have an Apple watch if I need that. Love my new Garmin

It also has a great silent alarm, and will also display caller ID info for those in your contact list. No more missed calls. This was the selling point for me. I do love it.

I have a fitbit one and I love it. I hook it on my bra but have occasionally worn it in my pocket. It seems pretty accurate and I got a cheap thing on amazon to put it in on my wrist at night for the sleep tracking.

I had the One for years. Gave it to DD. She loves it. I now have the Alta. I never, ever wanted one on my wrist, and I must say I am pleasantly surprised and like it better. I have many bands so color changes are fun. I also layer bracelets, and it all looks cute. I can see my status much easier than trying to check the One. I could never wear the One on my bra. Always fell off. If you have smaller girls, there is nothing to hold the One in place. After fishing for it a few times and also finding it on the floor, I started wearing the One on my panties. That worked great but I could never check my status.

I clip it to my pants most times, but when I run, I clip it to my sports bra, facing in - so that if it were to come out of its case, I (hopefully) won't lose it. Haven't had an issue with it falling off of my bra and I am not large. I bought the Alta but was disappointed it didn't track flights of stairs, so I returned it. My next purchase will be a Garmin Vivoactive HR. I have a Garmin Forerunner 220 for running, but would like to have the features of the Garmin and the Fitbit combined into one device.

I received a fitbit Alta for mother's day, but I took it back. It was a way overpriced pedometer, in my opinion. It killed me that my kids spent that much money on it. I ended up getting a Mi Band from Aliexpress. I think Amazon sells them, too...but I've heard they sell fakes. I paid less than $30 and it came with two bands (different colors). The tracker can be taken out of the band and worn in a pocket or slipped in a sock. I love it...and it appears to be much more accurate than my fitbit was. If you decide to go this route, just know that the instructions are in Chinese, but there are tons of youtube videos that will walk you through the setup. It really is as simple as downloading the app and syncing. The app is in English. The Mi Band tracks steps, exercise, sleep, calories (not sure how accurate without heart rate)and weight. The band is thin and light.

I work for a company that sells fitbits and the charge hr is our most returned item due to defects. After having my 3rd charge in less than a year have battery issues (I had to recharge it more than once a day), I ditched the fitbit and got a Garmin vivofit 2. The battery lasts a year and it can be worn in the pool.
