Ahhhhhhh. I'm just kicking back here, since I am not cooking or even prepping anything tonight. Last night I made chicken picatta pasta. Tonight sil is taking the boys out to dinner. Dh will have leftovers, because we have a buffet in the fridge. I will be reclining peacefully and enjoying a night off.
What's on your menu?
Have a great day everyone.

I still haven't had lunch, but I'm already thinking about dinner. I'm making stroganoff and corn on the cob. This will be the last dinner I prepare for the next several days. I'm having a little outpatient surgery tomorrow and my doctor's orders are no chores for about a week. I have to sit and relax. Fortunately DH is good at fending for himself.

My bff is coming over to watch The Bachelorette tonight ... we weren't able to watch on Monday or Tuesday ... I read the spoiler site so it makes no difference to me when I see the actual episodes ... we just like to heckle Anyway, that means that I need to get dinner on the table and everything cleaned up before she gets here ... I'm going to get dh to grill some bone-in pork chops ... he does the grilling because I'm terrified of the thing I think I'll also make a Greek salad

Well. The long-awaited pork loin chops were delicious! BF marinated them in a mixture of soy sauce, oil and vinegar and spices. Grill veggies were also a hit. We are still savoring that meal, apparently, and didn't discuss dinner for tonight. We have leftover taco stuff, but I am thinking about calling him and asking him to meet me for a drink after work and buffalo wings! For a woman griping about how fat she is, I cannot resist the allure of hot wings.

We're having something prepared with Monday's roast chicken. I was going to do orzo, but I'm leaning towards a salad of new potatoes and green beans. Or broccoli.... Then there's the issue of the carcass. I'm feeling like lucyg with all of the chicken choices! Hope all goes well with your procedure and recovery, tuesdaysgone!

We're having grilled salmon, tater tots, and a veggie or green salad. Depends on what DH brings back from the store. For dessert, more fresh strawberries from the strawberry patch! Yum! Good luck tomorrow, tuesdaysgone - hope all goes well!

Vegetarian night for us for no other reason than today I pick up this week's CSA and I still have veggies leftover from last week.
Planning to make garbonzo bean, cauliflower and carrot curry with steamed rice and kale.

My mom just called and informed me she's coming over for dinner. I'm thinking, weren't you just here the other day?! Her DH is out of town and the power went out and she's bored. I think that about covers it. soooo the chicken is definitely getting used tonight, either that curry sauce I'm trying to use + rice and veggies, or maybe I'll just make chicken and noodles. I've also been planning to make lemon blueberry pound cake, so maybe I'll manage that today, too. take care, tuesdaysgone and ha ha, valleyview

I will take younger ds and a friend to see the new X-men movie and then run errands. I need to get a pedicure today and to go to Sam's, too. While at Sam's, I will pick up a rotisserie chicken. I guess I am technically not cooking again tonight. I love summer - except for our crazy heat - but my schedule is super hectic with working at home and two teen boys. Lisa

We're having smoked sausage, potatoes, peppers and onions roasted together. It's one of my favorite easy meals.
But it will be the last time I'm cooking this week. DH is leaving for a 3-night camping trip tomorrow. We went to buy his food supplies earlier, and I've never seen so much junk food! Stuff he would normally turn his nose up at, he's piling into the shopping cart!
The kids and I have already mapped out our eating plan - Mexican (DH doesn't like), Papa John's (DH doesn't like), and the local cafe that DH does like.

While planning this week's menu I dug out some older recipes I haven't made in forever: Highly rated, yet lost under more popular ones. Tonight's oldie but goodie is Stuffed French toast with thick Applewood-Smoke bacon. I like to do my more time intensive breakfast recipes for dinner in the summer.

Making homemade pizza like Imo's Pizza in St. Louis. Found the cheese at Aldi's when I was visiting the kids over the weekend.

naby64 -and what kind of cheese is that? I'm curious and interested in buying it. tuesdaysgone - follow doc's orders and relax and heal! We are having steak, broccoli, and sourdough blueberry muffins. I might make some iced tea, too. I have to get my annuals in the ground today - low humidity here and I have stalled waiting for it. Thanks for the thread.

desertgirl Here is an image of the cheese. Mine is in a regular bag. The Wiki page that explains it. Provel cheese
And this is the recipe I am using Imo's PizzaThere is an online store that has some of the cheeses and such you can order in case you can't find them around you. One of Walmarts around where the kiddos live, also sell it. Not in the regular cheese area but in the little specialty cheese area in the deli area.

I think it's going to be leftovers, because I've got some spaghetti and meat sauce and also some chicken fried rice that need to be eaten. I think there is some cut up cantaloupe chunks in the fridge that I can serve as a side dish, too.
