I went to the grocery store this morning , so I have a plan! Bone-in BBQ chicken breasts on the grill, pasta salad, and either a grilled or streamed vegetable. Which reminds me, I need to make the pasta salad!

I have some leftovers in the fridge needing to be used up... romaine lettuce, rotisserie chicken, deli ham slices... so think I'll make my version of a cobb salad. Neither DH or I care for avocado so I'll use beet chunks instead and frizzle up some smoked ham for the bacon. I've boiled a couple of eggs and DH is going to pick up some grape tomatoes at the grocery. All that needs doing is the dressing, and ta da, dinner! Oh, and more fresh strawberries for dessert.

We are having dinner at a friends. They are grilling steaks and everyone has to bring a dish to pass and a bottle of wine. We are having a wine tasting.

DH is back home, it's hotter than hades here today, so we're going to do Chicken Kabobs (chicken, peppers, pineapple, onion) on the grill, corn on the cob and a tossed salad.
The Tony's are on tonight!

After a day of napping and recovering from my hangover of fun I'm going to make and do absolutely nothing. Have a great rest of your Sunday everyone.

Ham and cheese salad, and garlic bread. Not the most adventurous dinner in the history of dinners, but filling and easy to make. Icecream for dessert, because that's in the same category

Very hot here today. Even from the comfort of my air conditioned house, I don't have much of an appetite in the heat. I'll have some fruit and heat up leftover spaghetti for DH.

We were without power for most of the day. Rats! That meant that I couldn't cook. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. When the power came back on, options were limited, so I named off things in the freezer and asked them to choose. Not a word from my people, just blank stares. So, since I know they don't like "Fall/Winter" meals when it's warm out, and soup/chili is not a meal, I am serving Black Bean and Butternut Squash Chili. Yes, it's immature and petty, but don't bite the hand that feeds you.

Big pasta salad. I packaged some up so I can bring it over to my DIL's house. She loves when I make her something so she doesn't have to cook.

Last night was a big party at my ex's house and I came home with a couple of pieces of the best smoked chicken in the world. So today I am having bbq smoked chicken, with yellow rice. (I like to chop up the chicken, make a bbq liquidy sauce and serve it over the yellow rice.)
But I keep putting it off. I am listening to an Orlando radio station (104.1) that is taking callers and talking through their grief. OMG. It is taking the edge off being hungry for sure.

Totally not meaning to be Debbie Downer and honestly I have not in any way been personally touched (thank God)-but my gosh, it sure feels like my good friend and neighbor was just kicked in teeth and I want to wrap them all up in a big hug and feed them.

DH came home from his camping trip, so it's no more take out for us.
However, he did bring home a lot of the junk food he purchased for the trip, including an assortment of crackers, cheese and summer sausage. I think we'll be feasting on that tonight. And powdered donuts. I knew he and his buddy wouldn't eat the 24-pack of mini powdered donuts he got at Sam's. The kids are thrilled!

Hamburgers off the grill, tater tots, and fruit salad. It's so hot outside. Ugh!
Thanks for the thread.

BBQing chicken breast, shrimp, potatoes and corn on the cob, and, because the BBQ scares the heck out of me, dh is doing the cooking.

lucyg, good on you finding a "stash" of hidden $$$! it's hot here, of course. Lather, rinse repeat till at least Sept. 15 or so. We ate out at a new place after church. Feta fries for an appetizer with gr. onions, a bit of dressing and tomatoes. Amazing. Everyone bought burgers; I got gyros. Amazing. And then DS #2 got a brownie with ice cream. Best. Brownie. Ever. I'm not cooking. The kids' dad bought DS #2 pizza last p.m. There is a lot leftover. They will likely munch on that. So I will fix the spaghetti tomorrow night that I planned for last night. Lisa

We are having a family dinner tonight - the first with just the 4 of us in I can't remember when mostly because of DD's work schedule. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and sauteed brocolli and carrots will be on the table.
DH has started making noises about going vegan after he got his cholesteral & glucose numbers last week so I'm starting to explore options. I'm hoping to persuade him to try a pescetarian diet for a while.

DSO and I unexpectedly found ourselves without children for the night so we decided to go to our favorite restaurant Red Spice Road for a late dinner. We tried a few new dishes this time:
Steamed bao, lemongrass pork, mint, pickled daikon Crispy pig’s ear, zucchini kim chi, ssamjang mayo, pickled onion Beef cheeks, spices, black pepper, shao xing, ginger, mushrooms Pork belly, apple slaw, chilli caramel, black vinegar
We always have the pork belly, that's non negotiable, but the other dishes were different to what we normally order. And they were just as delicious as everything else we've ever had there. OMG I love this place!

Well, DH proclaimed that the grilled salmon was the best he has ever had ~ at home or at a restaurant. To be honest, he doesn't often order it when we go out because he says mine is so good. But this was awesome and from Norway!

The most I've found is $20 in the pocket of a jacket. After my dad passed away and we were moving my mom from Florida to CA, my sister went through her house and looked behind every photo that was framed. She loved to tuck twenty dollar bills there *for a rainy day*.
