Set the envelopes for your thank you cards out with a pre-made sign asking them for their address. It makes it easier to get the thank you cards out quickly afterwards. Asking guests to address their own thank you notes is considered rude in many places. Presumably, you would have their addresses either from when you sent the invitations or from a check, if they gave one.

As a matter of fact, we went to 3 graduation parties this weekend and all 3 did this. I didn't for my sons party, but it was because I didn't think about it beforehand. Many high schoolers hand deliver invitations, so addresses may not be available for those friends, teachers, etc once the school year is over and hand delivery isn't available.
