I also live in northeast Tennessee and it is quite popular here. DH wanted one for Christmas last year. Handmade ones can get quite expensive. We found a sturdy plastic one at Target last year. DH, SIL and the grandkids love playing when we go camping.

just had this conversation at a block party last week. All the midwesterners called it corn hole. there were a few of us in attendance from back east. We all called it bean bag toss. One of the locals explained that it was corn in the bag and therefore the name. I find the name vaguely pornographic.

That's cornhole. Beanbag toss is when you have a tic-tac-toe box and you toss beanbags to flip them.

South side Chicago, we do not call it corn hole and that's only become noticeable since you have been able to buy a set in a box at big box stores. |

Never heard of corn hole. Sounds icky. Anything that sounds remotely like that game would be known as a bean bag toss around here (western washington).

In the prairies of Canada it is also called Corn Hole though my Mom calls it bean bag toss as she made her bags with dried kidney beans.
