Dh had bose headphones but unfortunately lost them on his last trip. Long story but he was devastated. He replaced them with a cheaper pair, didn't like the sound quality and so exchanged those for a pair from Sennheiser. He is very happy with those and they are about $80 less than Bose.
I splurged and bought DD the custom color Bose and she is thrilled with those. She travels a lot for work, at least two flights a week and says she could never fly without them.
Eta: Costco has Bose quiet comfort 15 headphones for $239.99

I had them and they were great up until they stopped working two weeks after the warranty expired. Bose did nothing to help.

For those with the headphones, if you wear glasses, are you able to comfortably wear these with your glasses on? I have never found a pair of headphones that don't painfully press my glasses frame (the part that goes over the top and behind the ear) into my head.

A lot of the guys that travel from my work use these and swear by them also. I did a lot of research & reviews and decided on Urbanears and have been happy with them. They are comfortable on the ear and have an adjustable headband, so it's softer. And come in pretty colors. I just couldn't justify the expense for Bose, plus I think they would be too big on me. I definitely favor headphones over earbuds on planes bcz u can always put them around your neck to go to bathroom, talk to flight attendant, etc. When I used to use earbuds, they were always falling out and getting stuck in my clothes and dangling, just a pain.

I have the headphones - ear buds hurt after an hour for me. The headphones pack flat - so they really don't take up that much space. They are definitely worth it. I don't have an issue with my glasses and the headphones.

We bought some for our oldest daughter. She thought she wanted Beats because she was a 17 year old and Beats were the latest greatest. She was bummed at 1st, but now she is glad we got the Bose. The Bose were way better.
Also, my son is a Sonar Tech on a Navy Submarine. He spends most days wearing headphones listening to ocean sounds. Guess what brand he wears...Bose.
Get em you won't regret it.

GET THEM! My husband has had a pair of over the ear ones for about 5 years. And when something went bad on them 3 years in, they replaced them because of the warranty. Last year, he had something else fail and they gave him reduced price on the same thing because they could no longer fix the other ones. Never had anything but great service from them.

Thank you all for enabling me!! I picked up a pair this morning and tried them out in my very quiet house. The AC was running (background noise I never even notice). When I flipped on the noise cancelling, it was like LIKE THAT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SOUND. I couldn't believe how loud the AC sounded once I flipped the noise cancelling back off. Looking forward to trying them out on 12 hours of flights and 20 hours in the car in the next 2 weeks

Wow, they've made advances since I picked up mine a few years ago (duh!) there was no switch on them for noise-cancelling. Mine are noise cancelling, earlier model. That means that you still hear some ambient sound (which I wanted since I wanted to use them to drive and at home where I need to hear my dogs bark). They also make over-the-ear ones that block sound that are great for plane rides, I understand.
As @stephdrebel mentioned, the outlet store is a great place to get last years' model for a good discount.
I've had mine for several years and still love them.

I am going to have to check them out. I could never do anything but earbuds so this is of interest. My boys got me some a couple of years ago and I love them!
