Dh and I went to see it at the local Alamo after we dropped the kids off at respite care. It was the worst movie I've seen in years, maybe ever. And it is 2 hours 46 minutes. The things that made it tolerable: 1) no kids yelling at me, 2) they have really great beer at the Alamo; 3) their pizza verde is also awesome.
I love being able to have a fresh cooked dinner and beer while watching a movie! The Transformer movie sucked, however.

Oh no! I hate it when the big summer movies suck.

That's too bad...and there have been so few movies this summer. We saw 22 Jump Street a couple nights ago and although I was worried it would be stupid, I ended up really liking it!

Did you like the earlier ones? I loved the first two and the third was just, meh. I had high hopes for this one.

Seriously my DH has to watch them every time they come on the TV and I just hate, hate, hate these movies. I am not looking forward to the torture of having to watch this one and I'm sure he's going to want to see it.

We have enjoyed X-Men, How to Train Your Dragon 2, and Spider-Man so far from the summer blockbusters, but this was painfully bad. The only reason to go see it is if your air conditioning goes out.

I've never made it all the way through the third one because we didn't see it in the theater, and they really need to be seen on the big screen. The big screen didn't save this one. There is absolutely no story, so I couldn't really give you any spoilers if I wanted to.

There was no story line and the dialogue that there was was so bad that people in the theater laughed out loud at lines that weren't meant to be funny.
Eta: and it was 1 hour too long. No action film with no story real story line needs to go on for almost 3 hours.

The audience who wouldn't care about dialogue, story line, and character development are the elementary school aged boys that LOVE Transformers, but not many I have known I my life - including my own - could sit through 3 hours (which, once you add the previews, it is).

Darn. I was looking forward to it because I thought having Mark Wahlberg as the main character was a nice twist.

My husband is a die hard Transformers fan, collects them , etc..whenever a movie comes out, we usually see it several times in the theater. We got to see an advance screening Wednesday night with some free passes, thank goodness we didn't pay to see that hot mess! It really is the worst of the franchise, so far. And, even though I am far from being a prude, it had more curse words than any of the other 3 movies (not just damn and shit and assholes, there was a F bomb thrown in there, as well). Even my DH said it had a badly put together story line and dragged and wasn't that exciting. I was really uncomfortable with all the bad language with a theater that was at least half full of little kids under 10..it was just gratuitous use of cursing in this movie.

It is rated PG13, but the language was pretty salty for PG13. Plus, two instances of using the word bitch in reference to female characters..way to teach our young boys about misogyny, Michael Bay!

Good Lord...3 hours!! That is ridiculous. The first Transformers was decent, after that I'm not sure why they keep on making them. I didn't think the last one did so great.

Wow, even Mark Wahlburg couldn't save the movie? No, even hottie Mark couldn't save it. And he makes a very unconvincing Dad of a 19 yo daughter who chooses to wear Daisy Dukes and high heels. They looked more like a couple than Dad and daughter.

Ohh man we're going Monday, - I don't know if I'll tell DH he's not expecting much anyway. It doesn't usually work when they change the cast? And I like Mark Wahlburg, but not sure on this one, I'll tell ya Monday!

I think the rating is a little high -LOL!

I saw it Friday night and liked it. I wasn't a huge fan of the whining daughter who needed a man to protect her and was only in the movie for eye candy for the male viewers. I liked Megan Fox's character much better. She at least kicked butt and owned it. Other than that, I enjoyed it.

I also wanted to add that I love, love, love Stanley Tucci. His characters are always so quirky and funny!
