I caught a kettlebell wrong doing snatches last night and my wrist got whacked pretty hard, and swelled up right away. Resting tonight and icing it up some more. It's still swollen and my mobility isn't great. I can put weight on it though, which is good. If it's still painful tomorrow I'll go in and get it checked out. Ouch! Hope it is better this morning. Ok so July 1 I an going to be trying this... Cool! I did something similar recently, but mine didn't include leg lifts. It had burpees instead

iamkristinl16 - it is just me and my husband and he eats what I cook (lol) but he doesn't have a weight or allergy issue, so he has no motivation to extend his "whole30" outside of the house. Which is totally fair. I also do the grocery shopping, meal planning, etc. anyhow so it has had no change on our family life. I'm only on day 11 so I am not an expert, but planning all of my meals (even just the night before) and making leftovers have helped me a lot. I have been having husband grill extra chicken once a week for lunch. (I don't eat chicken everyday, though. I don't mind eating the same thing a few times but not seven days a week.) Almost anything homemade (salad dressing, mayo, grilled or roasted veg) has shown up in a couple meals so I'm not slaving over each meal. Before I started, I was pinning delicious recipes (but easy) and also clearing my house of temptations. I hate to throw away any kind of food (personal pet peeve) so that took at least a month. I started buying only whole30 foods several weeks prior to starting which helped with the reading labels portion. I also cut out 75% of grains and dairy so that the first couple weeks weren't horrible (and they haven't been horrible). I think timing is good for me, too, we are part of a CSA and getting a box of fresh veggies each week plus we love to grill out. Meat, veggies, fresh fruit! Simple! Ha! I was totally serious about trying this for my allergies so I was willing to do extra steps to ensure my success. My husband is supportive.

@nycmom For squats, I keep my balance better when I have a weighted bar on my shoulders. But if I do just body weight squats, it's easier to do wide stance rather than narrow stance. Just cross your arms in front of you, look straight ahead, and drop your butt like you're about to sit. And keep your feet flat on floor- I tend to want to raise up on my toes for some reason if I'm not holding weight. Oh and drop as low as you can go! Let me know when you get to the 200 day-lol.

alexa11 Darn right! I actually have the 1st to the 5th off from work, so I can start to establish the habit. DH even looked at the list and said "maybe I should do it too..." I'll keep ya'll posted.

So....yesterday after boot camp, I looked around my house and couldn't take it any more! WHAT A MESS! I didn't realize how much it has been stressing me out. I managed to scrub down the kitchen and the dining area. I went downstairs to start my laundry before we leave on Saturday for vacation and saw PILES of damp laundry just sitting in baskets. I was so seriously mad and frustrated. I have FINALLY managed to rewash and dry it all; fold it and get my boys to figure out which clothes they have outgrown, which they need to save for the fall, and which go back into their dressers. Oh, and did I mention that the boys' hampers and stuffed full? Haven't even started those, but at least my last loads are in the washer and dryer. Today, I woke up with a headache and a teen dd in a horrible mood. After taking her to her yearly well visit, getting her RX filled and going home, I took a couple of Advil and slept for an hour and a half. I feel half-way human again. I still have a bit of a headache, but nothing like this morning. So....I'm off to my weigh-in at WW in less than an hour. My home scale shows a drop; hoping theirs does as well! Two weeks of gains is messing with my head already-I don't need another just before vacation! Oh!! And yesterday I walked over 20,000 steps! I was so tired by the end of our swim meet I couldn't sleep. I'm sure that contributed to my headache this morning as well. No, I didn't walk 20K just at the meet, but I did get a good 7,000 being card runner! I felt very tired, but very accomplished by the end of the day!

I lost another 1.6 lbs today! Finally!!!! I am not eating anything bad at all, but I am not exercising enough either. Still to lose that much is huge for me. I am down 14.5 lbs. Yesterday was the true test buying clothes smaller. That was honestly a huge achievement. HUGE. I am firmly in a size M again. Yay. Phew. Maybe more will come off soon.
I am not at my goal yet or even close. I will get there, though. I am determined. With enough healthy eating it isn't that hard to lose weight. You *just*don't*cheat* and the weight will come off. Plus I can have lots of fruit. I was having a little bit, but I am liking whatever is in season and loving that!

Wrist isn't broken! Whoop!
Technically it's a crush injury because the ligaments and tendons are damaged but the dr prescribed rest/ice/compression and a recheck if I'm still in pain before I travel to make sure a line on the X-ray doesn't turn into a hairline fracture.
I did do the workout tonight--one of my enduring favorite things about CrossFit is its infinite scalability. For example, tonight was:
5 rounds of 5 power snatches (light dumbbell snatches, left side only) 10 overhead squats (10 back squats) 20 toes to bar (20 v-up sit-ups).
Same stimulus, just adapted to my limits.
