This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . There are no prizes for this challenge, just a chance to enjoy the works of other Pokey Peas Refugees. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Welcome to July's thread. The summer is going too fast. It seems like I just posted the June thread last week! Cindy, ( scrapincin) here is a photo of the stamp pad holder. Stamp Pad holder by Nylene Budge, on Flickr It is attached to the wall right above the chair rail. It is located in a perfect little spot between the closet doors and the iris carts that hold my punches. Save

Hey I am the first one here Nylene! Thanks for keeping us going every month. Here are a few pics. One is from the cupcake class and the other is a new lo I finished. Wasn't sure about the picture color. I did them that color because my printer wasn't printing the color ones very good. This darn printer does get on my nerves sometimes.

Good evening to one and all! Thank you Nylene for the new Red white and Blue thread! Happy Birthday USA!!!! I have to say I love that stamp pad holder Steve made It looks like he did a fabulous job on it As for the Silhouette do not need SCAL it does SVG's as long as you get the basic designer edition. I do everything imaginable with that-clipart and all. You only pay for the designer edition once. There are 2 versions the second is more for commercial people.
Kelly-your cupcakes are beautiful. I sure can not do that-they really look like roses! And your birthday layout is gorgeous-I will leave you some love in the gallery! Are you enjoying the tennis? I know I am!
Happy Birthday Maribeth! Hope you had a great day and a Terrific Thursday! I really like Federer too. My favorites will always be the matches between Sampras and Aggassi!
Jana-Sorry you have to go back to work but happy your eyes are getting better! Hope all continues to go well with you!
Waving a big Hi to Lisa even though you can't post we are thinking of you! Hope you are enjoying your visit!
Well the kitchen is all done except for one piece of quarter round which Jeremy will be getting and putting in. I am so happy with it. I put my teapots collection back up tonight. Tomorrow I am adding cup hooks to the hutch to hang my cups up. Then I will put my crystal away. I see my cardiologist tomorrow afternoon for my 6 month check up. All is going well so I am looking forward to a good visit. I have done so much better on this medicine. In 6 months I think I have only been in a fib 4 or 5 times for just a few hours not days at a time. I will let you know how it goes tomorrow!
Going to get off and go to bed. talk to you soon!

Happy Fantastic Friday Pokeys My Mac n Cheese birthday dinner was wonderful. Our rock was delivered yesterday so we are ready to work in the yard over the long weekend. We will probably begin tonight. Great Tennis day for me yesterday all my peeps won!!!!! That like never happens - LOL Looks like a terrific line up today so hopefully I can watch on computer. Maybe boss will leave early and go to his mountain house, I know he needs to get up there because they are on water rations and only get to water their properties on Thursday, Friday and Saturday right now, because the Indian tribe has first dips on the water. I he leave I can have my volume up a bit louder, his office is right across from mine so that is why most of the time I need to have it way down. Sound really carries in our office. nylene, kellyr21 - so sorry for your printer issues. One reason I have my photos printed, I can only take so much frustration when it comes to my hobby/craft tools, and my Pazzles takes up all my patience as is. I do journal with my printer however and so far so good, I have a color laser and the toner is expensive so that is the only issue I have so I try to always have an extra color toner on hand so I am not having to run out and get them when I run out. Which reminds me, I better get some purchased I think I am all out of backups. Ladies, I hope you all have a Fantastic Friday! I know some of you will be busy with Independence day festivities and may not be back on over the weekend, so let me all wish you a wonderful holiday weekend whatever your family traditions are for celebrating enjoy them. Bye for now......

I am going to try to spend the evening in my scrap room working on my scrapbooking. The kitchen is all but finished I got everything back into the hutch today and that is all I am doing out there today. Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. No big plans for us.

How did it get to be July? June just flew by!! I thought I would check in quickly but need to start getting ready for work. My first night back wasn't to bad but we were short 3 staff members. Always makes for an interesting night! I hope tonight we are better staffed.
I hope to check in again soon! I hope everyone has a Happy 4th of July!

Happy middle of the weekend!
We have been busy. A community bbq on Thursday evening on the way home from picking up the girls. Canada Day festivities yesterday. Got home in time for a supper of grocerie store rotisserie chicken and salads.
Ukrainian cultural celebration today. Home in time for leftovers from yesterday's supper. The girls are watching Ice Age in my bed. Little guy is in his bed upstairs. His parents are on their way to town to stock up on beer and coolers. I am drooling for a black cherry cooler out on the deck when they get back!
Tomorrow we are hosting brunch for 16 people (7 of them are here already) for our nephew's birthday. Then home most of the day, and over to the river campsite for a weiner roast for supper.
Have a good Saturday evening, and an excellent Sunday!

Happy 4th of July! I am finally caught up on reading all of the posts. You all have been WAY busy.
Cindy, love your wall colors and the panels. It's so classy.
We arrived home at almost 2am on Sunday morning. 2 weeks away is too long. We had a great time seeing all the family though. On our last leg of the trip, the kid cousins made it out to the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. My youngest didn't remember that she'd been so many times when she was little. I can't wait to download the photos. Today is a family relax day at home (after I get a couple of small chores finished). Oh, and the neighbor called while we were away to say the land right between ours is going up for a tax auction. She knew we were interested in that piece of property. They have maples which means our own maple syrup. It looks like they cut it into 2 pieces and I want both. So I'll be not buying anymore scrappy stuff and saving my pennies until the auction. of course, I just signed up for hip kit club and now feel guilty. oh well, if it's meant to be it will be. They have maples which means our own maple syrup.
Nylene and Grammadee, I agree with the whole cleaning thing. I used to clean everything in 1 day in our apartment, and 2 days in our first home. But through the years it seems to take longer and longer as I need more and more breaks.
Kelly, love the cupcakes and layouts.
Waving hello to everyone.
Ok, off to leave some gallery love and get some chores finished.

Happy Transitional Tuesday
Transitional you say......well we are transitioning from our long holiday weekend back into our more routine life....for me of course that means back to work. I am not going to dread it today like usual though. I have Wonderful Wimbledon to watch with both Williams sisters still alive in the draw. I worked so hard spreading rocks this weekend that I am actually looking forward to a "restful" day at work. I will be back at the rock spreading next weekend. I didn't get any scrafting done, I was having difficulty with my fuse, hubby troubleshooted the problem and I think we have determined that I can not use the fuse with my ceiling fan on as it cools down to quickly and does not seal. The fan is directly above my work space.
Pokeys, spend your Transitional Tuesday in the best way possible.
See you later.......

maribeth, be sure to post a photo to show us the results of all your rock spreading! Have a good RESTFUL day at work! LisaDV, nice to see you home safe and sound. I'm glad you had a good visit. Now back to normal life. scrapincin, I am sooo happy that your cardiologist was pleased with your progress. We need to keep you healthy! Sounds like you are going to love your kitchen. Congrats on getting it finished. knutschen, glad you are still doing well with the sight. Sorry you have to go back to work. Have a great day anyway. kellyr21, I love all the classes you are taking. Our local Michael's doesn't even have a classroom, but the one 2 towns over does and it's a really nice store. If I just want to wander and look around I drive over there. Ours here is dark and crowded and does not have eye appeal. Keep up the good work. I'm loving your scrapbook pages and spotted them on Scrapbook.com. The two grandchildren who missed the Cousin Camp were here yesterday with their mom to do some genealogy stuff. They begged for another Cousin Camp so they get to be involved. The only days they have available, when the other family is available, is Thursday and Friday this week. Sooo...since I haven't carried everything downstairs to put away yet, I guess we will do a rerun this week. It's just 4 girls 15, 14, 12, 12 and a boy 9. Our grandson wants to spend his whole time in the Shop and Steve is quite excited about having him. These older girls don't really need entertaining, so it will be more laid back. Lots of card and board games and just the tea party, with hats of course. LOL! I'd better get a few things done. I have a couple of pages to post, but will do it tomorrow. Have a wonderful day!

Happy Wednesday! Hope you all had a nice 4th of July. They had a fireworks show here in town so we drove over there and enjoyed the show. I finished up some cards. Boy, I got stuck on the designs and colors but finally pulled it all together. I will post pictures later. The cards are for two teen gals so this was a fun challenge to make more youthful designs. I have been checking out some of this 24hr HSN craft sales today. I usually like see all the new trends and products coming out. Sometimes, the ladies do talk so fast I have to turn the sound down. LOL! I know they gotta go fast to get their presentation in before the time is up. Cindy- So happy to hear you are getting better!!! Maribeth- Do you think we will see a Williams' sisters final? Lisa- Welcome back from your nice trip. Good you will have some "You" time to recup from the trip. Any fun plans for yourself? Nylene- Cousin's Camp part 2 sounds great! Boy, those kids are gonna have fun. Oh, I almost forgot! Nylene, one of your layouts was featured on Scrapbook.com I think yesterday!!!! Congrats! We know you are a star!

I thought I'd better post tonight because by the time the grands arrive tomorrow and we have 2 days of Fun, I may not get back until after the weekend. kellyr21 , I'm glad you are busy making cards. I am anxious to see them. I was going to watch HSN today and forgot. I had errands to run all morning and it slipped my mind. Did you see some fun new stuff? Thanks for letting me know about my Scrapbook.com layout. I missed it. I post there to see some of my old 2peas friends who didn't transfer over here. We have to see each other's grandchildren! LOL! LisaDV , welcome back. I am glad you get a whole weekend to do the things you want to do. I hope your DH and kids have fun together too. scrapincin has been answering all my questions about a Silhouette. I am having so much trouble with my Cricut that I think it's dying. Thanks so much, Cindy. I know when I take the plunge and upgrade, you will get tired of my silly questions. I worked and worked on my printer again tonight, but even with online tech support I can't get it to print well. My husband insists that they make printers to be disposable now! maribeth , I don't print my photos either. I send them to Costco, but I print my journaling. My handwriting has become so shaky that I'm not happy with it when I hand write. grammadee , has the fun begun at your home? Have a great weekend if I don't get back before that! Here are the layouts I finished. You can see the printing is awful...almost as bad as my own handwriting! Vintage Toys by Nylene Budge, Vintage Toys by Nylene Budge, on Flickr

I worked and worked on my printer again tonight, but even with online tech support I can't get it to print well. My husband insists that they make printers to be disposable now! grammadee , has the fun begun at your home? I have to admit, I am kinda in your dh's camp here! MY dh would try to fix forever, but I just want to finish what I am doing and get on with it, so am much more likely to buy a replacement: especially a printer! I am in the middle of a couple of days of quiet time here, as far as grandkids go. We had two families here from Thursday until this morning when the last ones left. Then on Friday I am driving to Calgary to spend a couple of days with the kids there. The girls from BC have not seen their Calgary cousins for two years, so I want to be around for at least some of the action. Have to be back Monday morning, though, because the windows guys will be here to replace the bedroom windows on the upper floor and two of the panes in the living room window. Tomorrow, I need to move beds away from the windows, and vacuum under there so the guys have space to work. Over the weekend, dh will have to remove the blinds. Not sure if those blinds will work again with the new windows, but I guess we will have to see. I think it is cute that the kids who missed out on cousins camp want a redo!

Happy Thursday! I am moving slow today but hope to get some mojo later. The Summer park concerts started last night and I am looking forward to going to them all. I was only able to pop in for a short time last night. They had country music. For some reason this year, I started listening to country music and I really like it!!! So, I wish they were having another country night so I can sing along. LOL! The upcoming weeks, they will have rock, military night, latin, 90's and the orchestra. I really like the orchestra night when they let the kids come up one at a time and direct with the baton. Cute!
Here are two of the cute cards I made.
Pink Flowers Card by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
Blue Tissue Paper Flower Card by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr
Nylene- They only thing I saw on HSN yesterday that caught my eye was Anna Griffins products. Her stuff is so pretty and I love all the flowers and embellishments she has. Have a great time with your dgk and the camp. I know you will have a great time!
Grammadee- Hope you have a great time too! Looking forward to hearing all the highlights of your visits.
Waving hi to you other gals! Have a nice day!

Glad you are home safe & sound, LisaDV . maribeth and kellyr21, you always amaze me with the projects you take on. Got some needed rest yesterday and a good sleep last night. Then got up and got moving this morning. Now have all the furniture moved away from the windows that will be replaced, the blinds taken down, the floors under where the beds were vacuumed. Also am all caught up on the laundry. Paid some bills. So all ready to get another good night's sleep, then pack up and head down to Stampede City for a couple of days. Hope to get some photos printed on the way back, but do not see myself scrapping with them until at least after the 17th. What with the garden being taken over with weeds, the Saskatoon berries threatening to be ready, and the raspberries on the brink of ripening, and the window people being here, I don't see where I will have the time. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

kellyr21, super cute cards! Your summer fun concert series sounds like so much fun! We used to go to one in college. grammadee, enjoy your weekend and have a safe trip. nylene, your layout is adorable. Hope you get your printer working soon or get a new one. I fought with one for over a year before I threw in the towel and bought a new one. DH & the kids are gone. They left from dd's dr. appt. yesterday. There is a festival going on in town, and I spent so much time in traffic while running my few errands that I thought I was back in Chicago. After finally getting home, I decided that I'd just enjoy the evening watching movies I picked up at the library. Found out that our TV remote needs to be replaced. We can get the firebox on no problem, but I couldn't switch to the Disc Player. Changed the movies to what was available and kept going. My plans for today and tomorrow are to sew, scrapbook, watch movies, and eat (things that I would feel too guilty eating with my dd and her food issues - basically really good cheese and gluten based things.) Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hi, everyone! kellyr21 , your cards are beautiful. That pink paper looks like fabric. Wonderful, classy job. Let some love in the gallery. grammadee , I hope you have a wonderful time with all the grands. Being a grandma is a real privilege! I can say that even after I sighed with relieve as the grands all went home this afternoon. LOL! I wish I had their energy. Thanks for your input on the printer. I guess I will try to make a switch next week. Aargh! LisaDV , I am so sorry you spend so much of your precious "alone time" in traffic! It's funny that you mention a bad remote, we tried to watch TV last night and the TV would jump to 8 for 6 seconds, then to 88, for 6 seconds, to 888 for 6 seconds and then to 1. This happened over and over until we gave up. I cleaned the remote, thinking maybe the 8 was stuck, but that didn't help. I hope it's the remote, not the TV. Have a great weekend. I'm sure you will miss the family, but enjoy some quiet time too. justjac , so nice to see you popping up here. We have heard a lot about you from grammadee ! I think you two have way TOO MUCH fun together! How nice to have a great scrappy friend in real life. maribeth , I hope you are off having fun away from work! scrapincin , Em looked at the software I supposedly downloaded and says it is not completely downloaded. She was just looking in from Team Viewer (where her husband logs in to my computer to help me out all the time). One of them will help me finish it when we both have time. I didn't want to bother with it during the Cousin Camp. Thanks again for being such good help. I have a Halloween page to post. These are Angie's kids dressed up as Inside Out emotions. Happy Friday Night! Waving hi to you all and hope you had a nice day. I did some painting today and a little guitar practice. I think my fingers are getting tougher. Yippee! LOL! Thanks for all the complements on my flower cards. I did have fun making them and want to make more. My mil gave me a bunch of pp and I want to make more cards with it. So lots more cards are in my future. Lisa- That does sounds like a fun time of crafting and movies. I love that combo too. What are some of your fav go to movies? I love old movies, Miss Congeniality and Legally Blonde along with some of the English Jane Austen ones too. Enjoy whatever you choose. Grammadee- Oh you are gonna have a good time. Enjoy!

It's Super Saturday Pokeys
Careful what you ask for right! After complaining for a couple of weeks I had absolutely nothing to do at work, I was sooooooo busy this week I couldn't even check the board. Busy and stressful or Bored stiff, I have no idea which one is better - LOL
Anyway - off to read the threads I missed, hoping to work on some projects today. Should continue to move rocks, but hubby is sore and if I can talk him in to resting today I can get some scrafting in. Still have to order that cord for my camera, have to do that today.
Have a Super Saturday today!

I love your digi pages, justjac ! I like how real the "berries" look. Great 2 pager. Left some love in the Gallery for you and nylene . After a whirlwind weekend, I am back home. Exhausted, but really glad I went. It was cool seeing the two families together: there are such close bonds between the older kids. They had such a blast together! And of course, it is always fun to spend time with the little guys. Babysat one night, and then played cards with the adults the second night. Fit in a trip to Michaels with my oldest granddaughter so she could pick out her bd present. She chose a professional artists' kit, and since I had a 50% off coupon it was a really good deal. We also picked out activities for her and her sisters on the long drive back with their mom to Abbotsford today. While I was gone there was a huge rain storm here: 2 1/2 inches in about 2 hours. Dh said he wanted new potatoes for supper tonight and I told him I couldn't do that unless I had hip waders on! And it is raining again this evening. Don't know what that means for the crew that is supposed to be here tomorrow to start replacing windows... I am hoping I can get out to pick Saskatoon berries sometime tomorrow: looks like there will be lots. I think the only crafting I will be doing this week is a bd card for dd. Glad to be back. Going to bed.

It's Manic Monday Pokeys I had a busy weekend (sorry kellyr21 and nylene) I did not get time to photo any of the rock sections. By the time we were done (us not the job) Sunday I was so worn out I could not even think of lifting up a camera....will try to take a photo of our work thus far one evening this week. Hubby has a busy week helping his son move so we won't be working on rock until next weekend. After work on Saturday, while hubby took a little nap, I was able to get some more of my "fuse" pages done for my vacation pamphlets and maps. I have quite a stack and a whole lot more to go, but I am so glad I took the leap and purchased the fuse, I love how they are turning out. Wimbledon is over but I was so that Serena won the singles and that she and Venus won the doubles. What will work bring this week? I will soon find out. Have a wonderful Monday, and I hope you do not have a MANIC one - LOL

nylene , such a fun and terrific layout. Love the colors. Sorry you're having problems with your remote too. Hope it's the remote and not the TV. kellyr21 , I tend to go in cycles of whether I want action/adventure or romantic movie (chick flick tear jerkers to rom coms). I stayed away from the tear jerkers this weekend. Blended was the funniest movie I watched. Missing William was a romantic drama that was really unexpected and quite good. Jack Reacher was my favorite rewatch of the weekend. Definitely enjoyed the time. justjac , great pages. grammadee , glad you are home. Please send me some of your rain!!! maribeth , I know the feeling well of being too tired to go take a photo. Glad you had some time to work on your "fuse" pages. I finished 8 layouts over the weekend. I did NO sewing. I watched 13 movies. Most were rewatching of already seen ones so I could scrapbook at the same time. Hubs is always ready to come home with the kids after 12 hours. It's good for him to realize how much work it is, especially with a health needs dd where you have to be responsible for each meal with no shortcuts. I awoke on Saturday thinking it was already Sunday, and they were coming home. I was ready. Then I found out it was only Saturday. It was nice to have the "extra" day, but was so happy when they got home Sunday. Here's a couple of my pages. KL-2w by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr TheGreatMushroomExpeditionw by Lisa Davolt, on Flickr

Whooo Hooo LisaDV ! Great way to rest, relax, AND get in some scrappy time! Love your pages. Left some comments in the Gallery. Would GLADLY send some rain! It was raining when I woke up, and again at lunchtime. I went out midmorning and picked a couple of quarts of berries, but they were soaked. I have them in cold water and then I will pick them over. They keep much better as fresh berries if they are dry, and only washed when we used them. Oh well, they ARE fresh! I am in the process of encouraging dh to dig us some new potatoes for supper, but I don't know how he can get to them, unless he lays out a board to step on. The window guys are here. They have two windows removed and their replacements in place. Two more to go, and then the finishing on the inside. I was happy to hear they planned to rehang the blinds for me They also will be replacing a couple of panes in the living room, but probably not until tomorrow. You are right, maribeth : you do need to be careful what you ask for. I told people that God must be getting alzheimrrs' disease. Everyone prays for rain, but He forgets or doesn't hear. Then suddenly He thinks, "Oh yeah. They wanted rain, right?" and sends it. The next day He has the same thought.

Hi, Pokeys! Great pages LisaDV and justjac! I will leave love in the gallery when I finish this post. Tell us a little more about yourself justjac. I think I have recovered from everything electronic falling apart. I stopped at Costco after a Dr. appt. and asked if they could tell me when I bought my printer. The helpful guy looked it up and it is is only 9 months old. I told him I was ready to throw it out the window after hours online with support and that I had come to look at new printers. He said, "Bring it back! We have had a lot of those Epsons come back and you are at less than a year." Sooooo....Steve carried it in for me and I returned and replaced it with an HP. Except for buying new ink for it, I made a little bit of $ on the deal. I got it all set up but will wait for my DSIL who said he would be happy to set up the software when he finishes installing DH's new computer this evening. Without having the cost of a new printer, I am seriously thinking of getting the Silhouette, with my pal, scrapincin, to walk me through the set up and use. I got a good report on my blood work from the Nephrologist so that's another good thing that happened today. I noticed my cell phone was missing this a.m. and I knew I had it in the car at the Family Reunion Sat. I checked the car and just dreaded telling DH I had lost ANOTHER cell phone. When I got home from the Dr. office, there it was in the driveway. We have had the car in and out 3 times since I must have dropped it and luckily it didn't get run over! Three good things in one day! grammadee, I know you must have had a great time with your grands. How old is the oldest? I have never before heard of Saskatoon berries. What are they like? How do you use them? I hope you get some sunshine soon. scrapincin, I hope things are going well with you. Have you had any scrap time or are you still arranging your kitchen back to normal? It's always so nice to hear from you! Take care of yourselves and have a Marvelous Monday! LisaDV, I'm with you and kellyr21, I love watching old movies while I scrap. Then I don't have to look up much. I liked Jack Reacher too. Didn't you say you finished 8 pages...I only see 2! I hope you post the others. maribeth, don't stress yourself about a photo. Take it easy and let those muscles rest. I hope you have another RV trip planned soon. kellyr21, keep those cards coming. I'm glad your MIL gave you some nice papers.
