It's a Mopey Monday for me......
I want to go home now! My Sunday was spent from 6:30AM until 4:30PM on the phone with India (Century Link and Netgear) and driving back and forth to town (2 hour round trip) trying to get internet connection resolved. I was so exhausted I even broke down and cried. All I wanted to do on Sunday was play my computer games and scrap a bit in preparation for what is coming today at work that I have been dreading for almost two weeks now.
You are all the best part of my day! I hope everyone's day is wonderful.
See you tomorrow

Hope today turns out less stressful and a better result than you imagine. What happened with your connection? It is so frustrating when electronics do not function the way we want them to! Especially when the quick fix is a fair distance away. Out here, our internet is much slower than in town, and it pauses all the time. Dgs, at 3 years old, just yells "Internet broken" whenever something is not running smoothly.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well today. Have you ladies heard about this Pokémon Go craze that is going on? I guess it is some sort of phone app game that guides people to different local places to get points or something. So over the weekend, we saw several small groups of people at the park and our city hall area. So funny when I recognized that is why these people were assembled.
Yes, ladies I am going cupcake crazy!!! LOL! I will be making more this week. I really just want to practice the icing techniques that I have seen online. I just love how you can make flowers from buttercream. Just beautiful! So Ron will be extra happy having edible art around. Maybe I will send the extras to his job. I know they would like that.
Also, I will be working on cards and scrapping this week. The weather is supposed to heat up so I will have some fun little projects to work on.
maribeth - Hang in there! I hope this week smooths out for you and you get to play.
Waving hi to you all and have a nice evening!

This is just a quick check in to let you know I'm here. I had a migraine hit at 4 a.m on Sat. and I can't get it completely gone. Much better today, but my eyes are still very wonky and I feel like my brain is scrambled. My Silhouette came Friday night and I cut a word and 2 circles and went to bed. Haven't been able to read or play since and it's driving me crazy. I REALLY want to play and learn with it. Maybe tomorrow.
Sending hugs to everyone. I will catch up when the head clears!

Maribeth I hope your problem at work is rectified and you can get back to looking forward to going to work. Also hope you get your computer problem taken care of as I know how upsetting that can be

Hope you feel better soon nylene . And that you have more than survived mopey Monday, maribeth ! Glad you are having fun and being creative, kellyr21 , whether the results are edible or not. I am looking forward to a fun week. justjac is coming here Tuesday morning for a 3 day play date! Today I got her room upstairs back in order after the windows guys last week. And I put some things away in my scrap room and started thinking about what I will be working on when she is here. I have lots of photos, lots of stories to tell, lots of papers and elements in my stash, and she has picked up some glue runner refills, so all should go smoothly. In the morning, I need to take a quick drive into town to pick up my meds and a few other things, and then it is scrap camp for 3 days!

Ah - I breath a sigh of relief - Happy Tuesday Pokeys Sending you positive vibes, Maribeth! Hang in there! Thanks for the positive vibes grammadee, @kellr21, and scrapincin - they may have actually worked. My day ended up less stressful than anticipated, however the situation could rear its ugly head in the future, but for now I have to let it go and hope the situation stays as it is today. As for the connection, I think our DSL carrier upgraded the connection without notifying us. That is what the gentleman at Best Buy said. My second call to India to Century Link (DSL carrier) said I needed to get a new box, and gave me the specifications, when I went to Best Buy, he explained the box I had (which he still has on the shelf) did not comply to those specs and that those specs are the newer and better ones and that is why he felt they upgraded the line, however Century Link themselves never said that. It was a mess......but hubby says the connection IS faster? ? I thought our old connection was pretty fast so I don't really see a difference. nylene - I am so sorry for your suffering with a migrane. I use to have those horribly as a child and young woman, but I have not had a migrane now in probably 10 years. (yes I am knocking on wood). I hope you are feeling better. I know when one of mine stopped, I was filled with energy and felt like I was a new person. Hope that happens for you. @kellyr - I am so glad you are having such fun with your cupcakes and cards, I so want to get back in to creating. I am crossing my fingers that this weekend will allow me to spend some time in my scraft room. Have a wonderful Tuesday Pokeys......see ya later

Thank you dear friends for the prayers and well wishes. The pain is gone today except just behind one eye. My brain feels fuzzy, but I can get up and walk around without fear of being dizzy and falling down. Tomorrow should be a great day. maribeth, I don't feel ready to burn up the world after a migraine, but I do feel so much better that I want to be busy. I am so anxious to learn my Silhouette, but reading is still difficult today so I am going to watch as many YouTube videos as I can. I only have migraines every 6-8 months, but I stopped my migraine prophylaxis meds last winter when I was so sick, and my doctor just put me back on them last month. I think I will be back on the 6-8 month schedule again. I think they hadn't built back up in my system. scrapincin, I was trying to catch up on my email last night and came across a .studio pattern in a pinterest follower's board and knowing I had no idea how to download or print it, I just started playing around and actually cut it the size I wanted. That's all I could handle last night, but I am going to get going on it today for as long as my head will let me. I know I will have lots of questions for you. Did you take a class to help you get started, or did you just watch videos, read and experiment? maribeth, I am so sorry that work has you stressed. Hang in there. You are in my prayers for good solutions to your problems. I hate to see my "positive friend" worrrying and stressed! kellyr21, I hope you will take photos of your cupcakes. You don't have to photo the failures...just give those to Ron to eat, but we would love to see what you are working on. Any project is fine for Pokey Peas! So glad you are having fun. grammadee, I guess I misunderstood. I thought you and justjac lived very close to one another. I am sending both of you wishes for a fun 3 day get-together!! I am going to try to post my latest layout. If I can get it posted correctly, I will come back and post it here. Hugs to each of you friends. Sending well wishes for Jana, knutschen and LisaDV too.

nylene , we do live relatively close: a little over an hour's drive. A couple of times a year I stay with her for a LSS crop. Once or twice a year she comes out to the farm for 2 or 3 days so we can scrap together here. Hope the fuzziness goes away soon. That is what I have for the aftermath of a migraine. Don't push yourself too hard. So far I have 6 pages done. And another started. Hope to post some later in the week. Will check out your page in the gallery then as well. Such a cool thing to document.

Happy Wednesday! Today is park concert night so that makes me happy. I wanted to start my next batch of cupcakes and then I saw I didn't have enough liners! Oh, mannnnn!!! So I guess I will try tomorrow. So today, is more art and cardmaking. Of course there is house keeping but after some of that is play time.
nylene - Oh poor thing! I really hope that nasty migraine is gone. That just sounds really tough but glad you survive and are feeling better. Hang in there!
grammadee - How fun you and justjac having a scrapping party. Have a good time and wave hi to her from me.
maribeth- I hope your week is going better.

Happy Thursday, Ladies? Is it Thursday, already? I have been lost in scrappy time for a couple of days. Still have today to go. I should have justjac here to play more often. Not only is it fun to craft with a buddy and I get a lot of pages done (18 since Tuesday afternoon), but because she gets set up at the diningroom table, I move out there to scrap with her, which means with my memory I have to do A LOT of steps between there and my craftroom. Told her yesterday I needed a step counter! Here are a couple of my pages: summertime by Gramma Dee, on Flickr summertime 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I just love that sunshine grammadee. I have been having a great time scrapping at Dee's. I hope all of you are feeling well and having a good day. I've worked on some digital layouts and some paper layouts. I've done 14 layouts total. Here are a couple of my paper layouts. They are on paper by Blue Fern Studio. I love it. It is beautiful and quite thick.

justjac and grammadee, I can't believe how much you two can accomplish. I couldn't do 14 or 18 pages in a month! I need to take lessons from you two. I left love in the gallery on your layouts. Please post the others when you can. I owe scrapincin big time. She has helped me so much with the Silhouette. We have exchanged lots of emails and I am cutting what I need to on it. Slowly and with probably more steps than I need, but at least I am cutting. So far I LOVE this machine! I still have lots to learn, but my main goal was to be able to do what I could before on my Cricut. Thanks so much, my friend. I am feeling so much better today. It's amazing how much more you can accomplish when you feel well. LOL! kellyr21, how was the Music in the Park last night. I saw a TV notice that they are having something similar in a neighboring town, but it would mean driving down the canyon after dark and we just don't do that anymore. So I am feeling envious of your city's program. I need to fix dinner so I'll check back later. Have a great evening everyone.

Thanks for the comments, nylene . Really glad that scrapincin could help you and your migraine would let you play with your Silhouette this week. Hoping everyone's week is coming to a close nicely! Now that I played all week, the "weekend" is lining up to be mostly WORK. I have more berries to pick--then have to DO something with them (Jam is in my future)--and some serious weeding to do. Last night I loaded some more pages into the Gallery. Here are a few of them. This first one was my take on the July Bonus Challenge. Its facing page (with the circle cut pic) was one of the easiest, and my favorite from the week. circus by Gramma Dee, on Flickr circus 2 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

Hi Pokeys,
I see lots of beautiful works of art since my last sign log in. Lots of posts too, which I'll have to come back to read. Sorry.
We had a mad dash to get ready for our last trip. It was just going with hubs to GR, but I have to make our food for the week. We left early on Monday so we could play mini-golf and go-carts, then the kids and I enjoyed the pool again the next day, Wednesday I took the kids to Dave and Busters, and Thursday Gabriella had her neurology appointment afterwards we went to Meijer's Gardens then for sushi and ice cream, and today we did a late check out since hubs had a morning meeting and came home. Since we don't have the dogs (I'll pick them up in the a.m.) I think we're going to try to hit the drive in tonight (Ice Age and Ghostbusters - no one is really interested in the later, but the kids both love ice age).
As for dd, the neurologist went back to the first GI diagnosis of abdominal migraines. They had changed the diagnosis last appointment with the GI. I don't think they realize the level of debilitation she goes through though. He's given us a new prescription to try since the last 4 have not worked. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. He did recommend a counselor to learn some biofeedback techniques. She could use some other coping mechanism too, so I'm excited by the potential.
So that's me updated. I'll be out tomorrow and then trying to get put together from being gone. Then I'm out Sunday and Monday. I'll hope to get back to catch up before Tuesday, but if not, see you Tuesday.

LisaDV, I was hoping they could find a cure for your DD. My daughter has learned to live with her abdominal migraines and has outgrown the worst of them. But she had to have help dealing with hers. She would be the first to tell your DD that there is hope if she learns some of the biofeedback and other techniques. Hugs and prayers for her and for you too. I am going to check out all your pages grammadee. I did one page today between sewing with Lyssie and tending some rambunctious boys. It's pretty simple, but I cut one word of my title on my new Silhouette. Yay! I'm learning. We have a busy weekend, so I many not get back until Monday. Have a great weekend, everyone!

Good to hear from you LisaDV ! I hope you can find a way to help your dd find relief from the pain. I had never heard of abdominal migraines before. Glad you are feeling better, nylene . Thanks for the love in the Gallery. Hope your busy weekend is pleasurable. Looking forward to hearing about your creative pursuits, kellyr21 . Would love to see some of your cupcakes. Will you scrap some photos of them? How about using photos of your cupcakes on your cards? No crafting for me today. I had such a great time putting together pages when justjac was here! We are thinking I may pack up a small project and spend an afternoon in August at her house: that worked really well in the spring. I DO need to create a few cards to get into the mail on Monday: maybe I can find time for that tomorrow. The farm took over today. Dh spent much of the day cutting hay. I spent the day with various garden activities. Liberated my carrots from the weeds. Picked a few gallons of raspberries, then prepared some of them for freezing in a fruit syrup. They are tucked away in the freezer now for winter enjoyment. I still have a couple of gallons left to deal with, and will make freezer jam tomorrow. Of course there are more ripening as I type this, but I am hoping my sister in law and niece will be able to come Sunday to pick.

Happy Friday night! I was doing a little more work on my art while I am watching Miss Congeniality. Love that movie! LOL! I hope you all are having a nice evening. I did go to the park concert and it was good. It was military night and a U.S. Marine Corp band performed. The only complaint was that the show ended at 8pm instead of 8:30pm. So when it was over lots of us folks still sat around and enjoyed the nice weather for a while. Next week will be the city's orchestra so that is one of my favorite nights. Yeah nylene I wish you could go to the one in your area. Maybe your city will offer something like this soon. nylene- So happy you are feeling better and back to crafting and spending time with your loved ones. Cindy is are tech gal and glad she was able to help you out. I can't wait to see what you have created with your new toy. LisaDV- Oh you have been busy having fun trips. Will you be scrapping some of your adventures? I think it is so cool and fantastic that after many of your dd's appointments you do something fun. That is so wonderful for her like putting a pleasant association with a not so fun appointment. Hang in there! grammadee- You girls got a lot done. Wow! I am like Nylene, it would take me a while to get that many pages done. Great job and I gotta go to the gallery to see your work. Yes, that is a good idea to scrap about my cupcakes or even do a card. I definitely could do a few pages about this adventure.

I have to thank the Pokeys for all the love in the gallery. It's really nice to read. I got home from grammadee 's Thursday and then headed off for the weekend with DH Friday morning. Happy Sunday! Hoping the weather stayed dry enough for you to enjoy the park, justjac . I see you were able to post a few more pages in the Gallery. Will check them out next. Would love to see your artwork, kellyr21 . Today I sorted all the stuff that had been stacked and thrown in any whichway after our crafting frenzy last week. I needed to create some cards to mail, and couldn't find anything I needed, so I spent some time on that. Managed to finish a card I started yesterday and finish a couple more. My recent cards are now in the Gallery: Bd card for my son: party hat by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Anniversary cards for two sons whose anniversaries are next week: celebrate life by Gramma Dee, on Flickr A bd card I mailed to my brother last week. Didn't think I had a photo of it, but I guess I did take the time to do that, so here it is: birthday boy 81 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr

I have been a busy bee! I had 6 days off and had lots going on. My mom had a birthday and we all went to see Ghostbusters in 3D. That same day, my sister and I did a 5K and then I went to Slide the City. They had blocked the street off and did put a huge slip and slide down a hill off the square. I bought the triple slider to be able to slide 3 times. It was fun! My first slide I ended up being the a bowling ball. There were several people just standing at the end and I was coming down fast! They didn't have time to move when they realized I was coming and I ended up knocking them over! At least no one got hurt but I didn't go down the power lane anymore. They weren't spacing people on that lane like they did the others. My other 2 slides went smoother! Last week, I went with my mom and sister to pick up my youngest niece for a week at home. She is with me at the coffee shop chilling. She has to go back Tuesday. Her sister gets a week off in August. I happen to have a little vacation then. The med-surg unit I work on at the hospital finally got moved to its new permanent home. It is nice but since we are essentially taking over the east and west side and it is huge! I have found it a challenge to charge and take care of patients with this huge unit. I hope I can get used to it. The coffee shop is going to be closing soon. I have one more day off work and need to work on some laundry! I have a 6 week follow-up with my eye doctor this week. I feel like everything is healing okay. I hope everyone is doing good!

It is absolutely Merry that is is Monday Pokeys I have been a little MIA around here Pokey's......Caught up on all your posts and left love on all projects posted. justjac - your post didn't have a link so I am leaving love here - "Wonderful pages. I love the paper you chose - I am a total sucker for pages that deal with buildings so your pages go straight to my heart. These are wonderful, and thank you for sharing them with us." grammadee - left love individually, but just want to say you are such a great source of inspiration for me, always posting pages. I have to get back on track with my scrafting. knutschen - Wow it sound like you have had a wonderful 6 days off. Good for you! I am glad that you are feeling like you are healing well. That must be a huge relief for you. Best of luck at your follow-up and I hope all does go well. You work move will take time to get adjusted to, but I bet you will love it in the end. When we moved our office last year (in fact it was just about a year ago) we moved to a much larger space and it was weird at first, but we all love it now. nylene - so glad you are getting to use your Shilouette and thank you scrapincin for helping nylene , you are a wonderful friend. Looking forward to seeing your page with the title work. LisaDV - You have been busy. I hope all goes well with your daughter. Your family seems to obtain such a great balance between the things you must do (and often don't look forward to doing) and the FUN STUFF! I really admire you and your family. kellyr21 - Your Friday night music events sound like such a nice community event. We need more things like this across our nation. Something to bring peoples living in the same community together, a way to make it really feel like a community. Thank you for sharing these events with us. Finished out my work week after my potentially calamitous Monday of last week. Had some small work issue I had to deal with, but my biggest problem last week was a belly ache from......(well you know where). I have no idea what caused it, was not feeling sick in any other way. Hubby and I ate the same thing so I don't think it was bad food in any way. But it had me feeling pretty icky for most of the week. So when Saturday came, and I felt like a million bucks, I decided I wanted to continue spreading our rocks. It has been really hot here, so hubby and I can only work in the morning, and Saturday I think we worked a bit longer than we should have, we both felt a little heat exhausted Saturday afternoon. Sunday I awoke and felt again like I wanted to get some work done. Hubby didn't feel like it so he walked the dog and cleaned the house, while I worked on the projects in the yard that I could do on my own. (We are out of plastic so we could not spread more rocks any way). Sunday afternoon I worked in my scraft room, worked on a few pages (not quite complete yet), sent some team photos to grand daughter so she can tell me the names of the girls so I can put those on the page. It felt really good to touch some pretty paper again. Hope I can keep on that trend. I did get my camera cord in the mail on Friday, so hopefully I can get some photos taken of my completed projects and get them posted for you. Hope you all have a Merry Monday too! See ya later........

Good Monday morning! Good to hear from you, knutschen ! Sounds like a busy summer and a fun break you have had. Glad you are fitting in some family time. nylene , I hope you have some time to rejuvenate after your busy weekend. Would love to see what you can do with that Silhouette! Glad you are back on line, maribeth . Hope you are feeling better, and that the work anxiety is less this week. I know that with myself I really need to monitor stress, because emotional upheaval is usually followed (or accompanies by) physical pain. And it doesn't help that when I am upset I tend to consume things that aggravate the abdominal issues). Besides the cards, I managed to put together a few simple pages over the weekend with the photos and supplies that were left lying around after the crafting frenzy last week. A couple more check marks on my list of pages. I will be back in the garden today, picking more berries. Dh wants me to make jelly from Nanking cherries, so I will have to pick them before they fall off the tree. Later I need to go into town for a dr apt and a mammogram. Fun times... As Maribeth says, have a Merry Monday! (I think there used to be a blogspot with that title, setting up Christmas card challenges each week all year: will have to check later to see if it is still going!)

maribeth , I am sorry you were feeling out of sorts last week. Glad you are doing better. I loved this: It felt really good to touch some pretty paper again. It's amazing what a little time in the scraproom does to rejuvenate! Hang in there, sweet friend. knutschen , Jana, so nice to see you. I am glad you have enjoyed the days off. How nice that you could spend time with family. I know you are close to your nieces. Our local hospital is going to a new layout and our nurses are finding that it adds so many more steps each day. My friend made the same comment you did, that it's hard to charge and take care of patients at the same time. I hope you get used to the new system. grammadee , I love your cards. I will go look at them closely after this. I envy you the gallons of berries but don't envy you the picking and preserving. Actually I don't mind making jam and freezing berries but I don't enjoy picking them every other day. Good luck on the mammogram. Isn't it fun being a woman?!? justjac , I hope your trip went well. It's fun finding your layouts in the gallery. You are always welcome to come here and post a link so we don't miss them. Cindy, scrapincin , I have done a little work on the Silhouette. It takes me a million clicks to do things that should be easy, but it is getting better. I'm not ready to learn anything new until I feel more comfortable with what I am doing now. I downloaded a Miss Kate file, cut it out and put it together. Not sure what I am going to do with it, but it was fun to see that I could do it. How is your garden coming? We have lots of tomatoes but they aren't red yet. I'm really hungry for BLT's. kellyr21 , I wish I were there to sample your cupcake art. I'm sure Ron is not complaining about this hobby. Have a great week. LisaDV , hope you are keeping up with all your garden. It sounds like you have had some great adventures as a family. That's so important! Keep up the good work. Today is a Utah holiday; Pioneer Day. Big parades, rodeo, and fun. DH is anxious to do some woodworking and I'm in my scraproom, but we are going to run out for lunch together. We aren't big celebrators. At dusk we will attend the "Cul-De-Sac of Fire" around the corner from us. Everyone brings treats to share and the kids light fireworks for over an hour. We usually have about 150 people that show up. This makes me Happy by Nylene Budge, on Flickr Here is the layout that has my first Silhouette cut title. Hooray! Save

Happy Monday! We had a nice weekend especially Saturday at the park. I love going to parks and relaxing. The parks here in town are ok so we usually like to go to a neighboring city. They have nice green parks. So beautiful! Today is starting out slow but I hope to get some art and cards going today. knutschen- Wow, what a fun time you had! That is a great idea and glad you got to participate. Maybe you will scrap about it? nylene - Look at you! That layout is wonderful for your first with the Silhouette. I knew you could do it! Oh, your neighborhood event sounds great. Have fun! I had to put my cupcakes on hold partly because it has been pretty hot out here and I am not trying to get the oven going. LOL! But maybe soon I can get going with it. I know Ron is patiently waiting. maribeth - Merry Monday to ya too. I hope your day is going well. grammadee - Yes, I will be sharing my art. I am having a little struggle with the faces but I think they will come together. Doing the eyes are hard to get the straight. Ugh! Picking berries sounds yummy. I haven't heard of those cherries before. Are the similar to red bing cherries? Also, your card look good. I am going over to the gallery to check them out.

I'm posting from my phone, so I can't tag anyone. Thanks for the love Maribeth. I'm glad you like my buildings. Nylene, I just didn't want to clutter up the thread with all my layouts. I already felt like I took over the Flickr group! I love the washi stripes on your layout. It really looks happy.
DH and I had a great weekend. We got home late Sunday evening. I'm on holidays for another month because I'm a teacher, but DH had to work. Tonight we went out for supper for our 2nd anniversary.
I hope you're all having a great week.

Happy Anniversary, justjac ! I have had a couple of busy days. Garden then appointments, yesterday. The tech said that they will be sending a letter within 3 weeks with results. Today, I had a meeting about a 6 day teaching contract that starts next week. Looks like I will have to do more planning than I thought, but it is all familiar material, just some adaptations I will have to make. Don't want to do too much of that until I have met the students. Had a few minutes to play this morning and created a background I really like. Today while in town I printed a photo to go on it. Hopefully over the next couple of days I will have a page together. Tonight I picked about half the peas. Need to finish picking tomorrow, then shell and blanch for freezing. Have a good evening, and a great Wednesday!
