Hmmm I 'think' I read thru Echo in the bone. Not sure. The last one I read ended, umm no can't say that. hmmmm The boy and the weird guy from the school, Was that Echo in the Bone? Is that vague enough not to give anything away? I can't wait to see how the new book continues those stories! I was kind of freaked at the end, because of how that ended I'm 'afraid' of the new book. It's been awhile so I have some distance, not sure I want to get involved again by reading the last book.

If y'all go to Starz's website you can see which actors are playing what character.
I follow outlander_starz on Instagram and their latest pic has a banner saying "thirty days". So 1 more month until it starts!!

I wasn't really sure about the actor playing Jamie but then I started watching the Speak Outlander videos on YouTube. Omg August 9 can't get here fast enough.

It's not a film, it's a series. There are 16 episodes the first season. That's why I said you only need to read the first book before August.
Game of Thrones only had 10 episodes in the first season, so 16 episodes is a big deal.
Potentially there are 9 seasons. As there will be at least one more book. I just finished Written in My Hearts Own Blood. I cried at the ending. Maybe because it will be years until the next book comes out! But it all seemed to come full circle. (No more spoilers!)

The newest trailer was awesome!! Who's ready to go to Scotland?!? Haha!! I just discovered this book earlier this year. I was shocked when I picked it up that it was written in 1992. I had never heard about it before Googling the best all time romance novels. I feel for u ladies who read this book way back when and have been patiently waiting for this book to come to the small screen. Too bad we can't watch this together. I can only imagine what a watching party would be like.

I'm trying to get a couple of people to watch the premier with me. They look at me like I'm crazy. I told them to think of it as a movie night and just go with it!
I do like Sam, and even after watching the above clip (I've avoided sneak peeks), Claire doesn't seem right to me. Hopefully I'll change my mind once the I see her in the entire show. I'd hate to not watch the books play out because she doesn't look right to me. I want to like her.

Nice! I read today that they will have 8 shows in the fall and 8 in the spring instead of doing them all at once.

Nothing in WIMHOB wraps up quickly. NOTHING. And the ending is just like #7. It ends with more questions than answers. Why oh why did I read it? Now I have to wait years for #9. (I guess that's a sign of a good book!). LOL

Ha! That's true about all of the books, I think. Though that's one reason we love them!

Before that I was under the mistaken impression that it was too much of a "bodice ripper" type of fluff book, not that they don't have their place, but I stopped reading those back in my 20's. That's a stigma, I think, that comes with the genre. However, it is interesting to note that Diana Gabaldon holds three science degrees: Zoology, Marine Biology, and a Ph.D. in Quantitative Behavioral Ecology. Nothing she writes is ever gonna be a fluff book. But again, how can one tell initially since it's usually shelved alongside other bodice rippers? She's one of the most intelligent authors I've ever had the privilege to read. AHHH did you see the tweet from STARZ yesterday? the first episode of the series will be online for FREE -- wahoo!!! But of course! Isn't that what all smart drug-dealers do? Give'em a free taste to hook'em!

I'm trying to quote so what I posted above is me trying to reply to what Mizindependent wrote a few days ago-Thanks so much for telling me about the author's degrees and her background. Like I mentioned before I didn't pick up and start reading "Outlander" until I saw the previews for the series for Starz and realized had a time travel element. That's what peaked my interest. Sadly before that I'd thought for years it was a "bodice ripper romance" type of series. Wow-what I have missed!!! I finished "Outlander" and have to say it's one of my favorite books ever. It was amazing. I'm within 15 pages of finishing "Dragonfly in Amber" and must admit that one wasn't as great-just okay. Book 3 will be here on Monday from Amazon and I've heard it's better.
With what Mizindependent wrote I'm very impressed with this author's education and background and can see now how her extraordinary writing abilities have come about. She is one of the best writers I've come across in my 49 years of reading. I love her writing style!
I cannot wait for the series to begin. The actress playing "Claire" doesn't look wrong to me because that's how I saw her before I even began reading the first book-I saw the preview for the series. Jamie looks perfect though. Absolutely perfect! I'm so excited!

Nice! I read today that they will have 8 shows in the fall and 8 in the spring instead of doing them all at once. Oh, great....I recently subscribed to Starz w/ the intention of canceling after this season was over & renew before each season. Our DirecTV bill is so outrageous that I was hoping to save us $14/mo when Outlander wasn't airing. Guess we're now Starz subscribers until this series is over for good.
