I just saw this on CNN: State Department reopens probe into Clinton emailsThis doesn't seem fair: The State Department will now focus on whether current employees involved in handling or sending and receiving Clinton's emails should get disciplinary action, which could range from a reprimand to losing their security clearance. Former employees found to be mishandling classified information could also have notes put in their file that could also have consequences if they seek future employment with the government and need security clearance

She was the boss, it should fall on her first.

She was the boss, it should fall on her first. I think she should have her security clearance stripped too. Unfortunately, even if she does and she wins the Presidency, that won't matter. Because the President doesn't need security clearance. The people voting that person in gives them the clearance they need. Save

We live in a banana republic. It is maddening to listen to the hearing yesterday and listen to all the violations and lies that were revealed, and she doesn't even get a slap on the wrist. I thought Trey Gowdy was on point during the hearing. This was just a dog and pony show which was highlighted by the "interview" they did with Hillary a few days ago. It was not recorded, no transcripts of the interview and Commey wasn't even present during the interview. When asked if he had spoken to the interviewing FBI agents after the meeting with HRC, he did say that he had only spoken with a couple of them. Huh??? No transcript of the interview and you only cared enough to speak with a couple of the agents after the meeting? I just have no words.
As far as other State employees possibly being disciplined? What a load of crap...if the head honcho doesn't get reprimanded then why in the heck should any of her underlings?

Former employees found to be mishandling classified information could also have notes put in their file that could also have consequences if they seek future employment with the government and need security clearanceI agree that on the face of it it doesn't seem fair. However. One of the things Comey said was that the whole culture of the State Department was one that exhibited a careless attitude about security. It would seem that this new probe may be one of the first steps forward in changing that culture. Also, note your last sentence I bolded. That would mean that Clinton's aids who went along with her instructions to keep her e-mail out of the system may not be able to get security clearances in the future. If she wins the Whitehouse, she will override that, of course, but it may come back to bite them in the future.
If we can see a positive move forward, like changing the culture in Washington (because I imagine this security issue will reverberate throughout Washington) about the data they handle then at least something good will have come from this mess. We may also see some laws change so the next "Clinton" won't get away with this.
Life isn't fair. But I don't think we've seen the last of the fallout from this whole situation.

Ya know - this just hit me - how can one person possibly read/send that many e-mails on their own. Would she have had staff for that?

Given her position, it's easy. Heck, I have no where near the level of email she does and in the course of 4 years, I easily have read and sent over 20-30 thousand e-mails.
