I made one layout today - really happy with it. Pulled papers and photos for the next - have a plan on how to put it all together, reached for my corner rounder...no corner rounder went through my whole scrap area - no corner rounder. Asked everyone at home - no one has seen it Asked the littlest one to look in her desk/art areas since she likes to borrow it - she claims not to have it. Guess I need a new corner rounder - I'm betting as soon as I replace it, it'll show up.

For me one of the most frustrating thing about scrapbooking is my tendency to misplace my supplies. Also my family tends to borrow things and forget to return them.

Doncha hate that! You know where you put it and then it's not there.
I have all my photos, embellishments, papers, memorabilia, etc. from our Hawaii vacation last year in one place. Don't ask me how my son's senior portraits got in that bin. Don't ask me how long I looked for those $200 photos. Don't ask me how many times my pals said "Did you look in the Hawaii bin?" and I wouldn't look because how could they possibly be there? <sigh> It's a running joke now, whenever one of us misplaces something, another one will say "Did you look in the Hawaii bin?"
Back to you. When you do buy a new corner rounder, I'd suggest the Big Bite. Much harder to misplace.
And you do realize as soon as you buy a new one, you will find the old one, right?

Worse is what happened to me earlier this week. In the process of USING a punch, it worked fine the 20 previous punches, but the 21st punch it decides that the top cutting part is too big to fit through the bottom die part and won't complete a punch. HOW did it break itself on PAPER?! Needless to say, the store is over an hour of mountain roads away and I'm not driving my ass down there to get another punch. ((sigh))

Sooo frustrating. It'll be hiding somewhere. I've had a few things vanish and turn up later in a weird place or stuck to something random. Did I put them there - no way

Thanks for the empathy tiffanytwisted - I'm not sure I want something that big - I have a small scrap space and I really like my little EK Success paper shaper corner rounder I have a Big Bite hole puncher and love it but it's a pain to store. AerynK - what a pain

That really stinks. My DH tends to take my Tim Holtz red handled scissors and not replace them... little bugger.

Day is saved! DS picked up a corner rounder for me on his way out of work (he works for a big box store) and I finished layout [HASH]2 just now!

How nice your son was able to get you another punch! I am constantly losing things while using them. I'm too messy.

I lose things on my desk all the time. My husband also likes to walk off with my Cutter Bee scissors.

I'm so happy to know this happens to other people too! I lost my Cutterbee scissors last month. Really, really bugged me. Opened up my sewing machine and voila! There they were! What in the world was I thinking when I have a perfectly good pair of metal Fiskars sewing scissors! Sheesh!

I think what irritates me the most is that I'm not a messy scrapper and my desk is clean and organised - I'm the sort that cleans up between layouts

I have two corner rounders for that exact same reason.

I'm going to go out on a limb, here & say that you ladies need to put the fear of God into you families. NO ONE TOUCHES ANYTHING ON THE SCRAPPING TABLE WITHOUT EXPRESSED PERMISSION!!

tiffanytwisted - I've done that and for the most part, it's worked well with everyone except the little one -she just loves to be 'just like mummy' whether I'm scrapping or sewing and she's always creating something. She's good about asking first with consumables but she tends to just 'borrow' the tools without asking. I'm hopeful my corner rounder will show up during her room cleaning but at least I have a new one for now. Good news is that my final count for today is 4 layouts - 3 1-page and 1 2-page! yay!

I lose things on my desk all the time. My husband also likes to walk off with my Cutter Bee scissors. This. I actually bought a second pair as mine just disappeared one day, cleaned my desk and ripped apart the room and nothing. Turns out they found an new home in the garage. I loose stuff under all the piles quite frequently but I will admit that sometimes I loose things and they are literally right under my nose.

More than anything, this is the one who should not be allowed to just take things from your scrap area. There are too many things for a little one to get into that could hurt her. Plus, by the time she's 10, you will never, ever find anything again in the rat warren that her room will become. Each tiny piece of paper, trash, clothing tag, drawing, etc will become more precious than gold.

I'm pretty good about keeping my regularly used tools organized and accessible, but this happens All. The. TIME! with my supplies and other stuff that I don't use very often. I had some friends over to scrap several months ago because I had some cute portraits of DD that I wanted to scrap. I was able to find the paper I was looking for pretty quickly, but tore my studio apart and wasted close to two hours looking for an alphabet stamp set I wanted for that layout that I just KNEW I had around somewhere. A more rational person would have probably just set that page aside to work on something else, but me? NOOOO. I finally found the stamps a few weeks later in with my December Daily stuff (which I knew, but couldn't find that particular bin of stuff), but the page is still sitting in an unfinished heap months later. Things like that get me totally flustered, I lose all of my momentum and just get stuck. I hate that!

You know - I'd love to ask DH to pick up a corner rounder and see what he comes home with! He thinks because I work near a Home Depot/Lowes that I know what he is talking about when he asks me to go on my lunch hour to pick up this or that. He would probably bring me home one of every kind because he wouldn't know which would be the best (just like he does with his tools)

He would probably bring me home one of every kind because he wouldn't know which would be the best (just like he does with his tools) That would be my DH too - he wouldn't know what a corner rounder was and if he asked and was told, I would end up with one of each because he would want to make sure I had the right one. DS, on the other hand, is excellent at picking out craft supplies. I was home with a sick child (Annabelle) the day my LSS had a paper sale and he knew I was disappointed at not getting to go so he stopped and picked out paper for me - and did a good job choosing ones I like.

Now that is an amazing skill! Lucky girl! Linda, while I know it's hard to say no to them when they're little (they're so damn cute!), I gotta side w/Basket1Lady on this one. You'll be sorry later! Congrats on your layout count, btw!

basket1lady and tiffanytwisted - she's usually pretty good - it's just my scissors and corner rounder (and my sewing thread) she tends to 'borrow' (and she knows better than to touch my fabric scissors). The room is already a rat warren - she's tasked with cleaning it up today.

I know what you mean about losing something. My favorite 7 inch ruler went 'missing' for a week. Found it in a stack of mail on the kitchen table!!! I was so excited to find it, my DH thought I was looney. Now, my smallest CM circle cutter has disappeared. I don't think I'm going to find that in the mail.

basket1lady - probably. She did mention this morning that she 'liked the old corner rounder better' - yeah, so did I so if it turns up, she's not getting that one

even more frustrating is when you go looking for something and it's in your hand...at least that's what I've heard!

I recently "lost" my favorite metal ruler...hunted everywhere but no ruler. I was cleaning and organizing this weekend and found the ruler in the bottom of my Alaska project bag. Yeah me!
