Since so many of us have ordered an October Afternoon Warehouse Box I thought it might be fun to have an October Afternoon project share thread to help inspire each other as well as just look at all the pretties! Any October Afternoon projects are welcome in this thread, but I think bonus points to any collections heavily provided in the box would be especially wonderful to see. So please share any (and all) October Afternoon prettiness here! ETA: I would especially love to see anything made with Saturday Mornings as I have heaps of it and haven't used much...I have a page planned but never get around to it! I will start with this page I made with Treasure Map : Save

How I wished I lived near an ocean! I live near reservoirs and lakes. I would love to see ideas on how to use Treasure map that is *not* beach related. I was kind of sad I got a lot of that line. I WAS happy I got 22 alphabets! I was thinking of using the anchors on cards. Something about friends being an anchor? Ha! I'm not creative!
I already have my son's Halloween costume picked out (skeleton), so I am using some of those embellishments.
I made a PL style page and decorated a 4x6 card with items from the Library line. It was a 2 page layout of books I had read for that year. I'll have to take a photo tomorrow.

We don't live right at the beach, but we do go down every summer to the beach house and/or for a few day trips. I do feel lucky to live nearby. My eldest daughter was just in the US visiting relatives and she went to Disneyland so I tried to remind her to get some pictures of her favourite ride: Pirates of the Caribbean! So maybe I could use some for that as well...I think some of Treasure map could be used for explorer type pages if you have kids who like to explore. The B-sides of TM are very neutral. I think there are 3 sheets of paper and none of them are the super beachy themed ones...2 have some sort of blue triangles on the B side, the other has a red and white print...there are the ship flags, a map and plaid on the A-sides. You never know...maybe next year he will want to be a pirate for Hallowe'en or have a pirate themed party! Save

You never know...maybe next year he will want to be a pirate for Hallowe'en or have a pirate themed party! There are advantages to having a son with special needs. His costume is whatever I pick! As long as there are no masks, hats, bulky costumes (because it gets cold), or make up. Hence the skeleton pajamas doubling as his costume. I bought a minion jacket on clearance so, that's the next one. I could probably make him look like a pirate if I got the right pants, shirt, and vest. ETA: I just have some of the library line and the warehouse box that I recently received.

I am actually working on a page using "Saturday Morning" right now. I will post it when I'm done.
As for using "Treasure map... I think a lot of it is pretty usable foe swimming or beach type photos. DD was pirate for Halloween one year so I will use the more Pirate-y stuff for that and then use some of the rest for swimming, beach etc. We are in WI so not ocean but lots of lakes.

Pirate is a pretty easy costume to come up with, and i think you could do it within parameters that work for your son which is great. My son loves the minions too! I also agree with dulcemama TM does not have to be used just for ocean/beach pictures...I think anything with water would work for plenty of it. SaveSave

I'm working on my Yellowstone album so I won't be using it for a while, but I did use one of the alphas this morning. I think I'm going to have difficulty using it also but will have fun trying.

I used to get such a thrill catching glimpses of them when I lived in Reno. Your layout looks wonderful, that woodgrain paper looks perfect for your photo as does the OA alpha, obviously! Save

Forgive the poor quality, this was taken at 6:30 at night in my living room with the lights on. The top right left pocket is from the OA Library Line. I know you are all secretly laughing at my book choices!

Sorry for the big sizes, I rarely use photobucket. Close up of the library 4x6 card. My grandma was a school teacher from the 1930's-1960's, so I hope to use much more of this line.

I love seeing others book choices! Gives me ideas for what to read next. I have a love hate relationship with books. I love to read and when I find a good book it takes over my life and I just want to sit and read until its finished but of course I can't do that.....with work and family demands. I've stayed up until 3 am to finish a book and then the next day I am exhausted. Sigh. I wish I could be more disciplined .
Thanks for sharing your layout!

I didn't order any of the OA boxes, but I am loving the inspiration in this thread.
Great to see all the different pages and designs. Also ideas for pages: haven't done a "favorite books" for awhile.

I'll play! I haven't made much of a dent in my OA stash (I mostly just like to look at it I think!) so this is a great thread to encourage me to get some of it onto LOs. This page is a mix of Boarding Pass and Road Map: Seattle Skyline by Jenny, on Flickr and this is one of several using Hometown - possibly the collection that I've used the most so far! This is my favourite, but there are a couple more in the gallery: Favourite Spot by Jenny, on Flickr

jennyap Yay, thank you so much for sharing, I love both of your layouts. The photo looks great on that map print, and I really like your banners in the first one. Your kitty is adorable! I love how you have used the bright colours with the black and white it is is really stunning!

Love all the awesome layouts you all have made with October Afternoon!
I participated in my LSS's yard sale today. I sold (hopefully that went well) and had so much fun buying! I now understand why everyone makes such a big deal about Rocket Age!!! I scored four sheets in bags that were 15 sheets for $2. Plenty of other October Afternoon papers, Sassafrass, etc. But the four sheets of Rocket Age had to be my favorite. I feel like I MUST get those used first. I'm trying to brainstorm the perfect pictures. You're Going Places comes to mind for a title page for our MLB stadiums album.
Thanks for all your inspiration!!!

I need to use it! Save

I finally got around to taking pictures of this 2-page layout using Treasure Map. (Photos removed) This is for DS's album of his toddler years (he just graduated from college!) I started scrapbooking when he was 3 and started my albums from that point. A few years ago, I finally put together his baby album, and now I've been working on this one. The style continuity from album to album is going to be interesting. This is from 1995 with 2015 paper, but the next album will be 1997 with 1997 paper, Mrs Grossman's stickers, decorative edge scissors and oval photos. Lovely!

I made this little gift card holder for Easter, for my grandson. Pancakes are his favorite food. He is obsessed with McD's all day breakfast, so we gave him a McD's gift card. This paper was in the OA warehouse box, so I was thrilled. pancakes by Mikk lynn, on Flickr

I was sure I would never have an occasion to need Pirate Life that came in my warehouse box, but my grandchildren were in a musical last night called "lifesaving station" with a nautical theme and one of them played a pirate!
