Pieces of scrap paper. Like minuscule sizes. I can use a small punch on those! This is me exactly. I finally had to make myself just punch them and get rid of the scraps. The punched shapes go into a container that I dig through when making cards or layouts. I treat them just like the die-cuts I buy.

Photos! I don't know what my problem is, I can't toss photos, even though they aren't "scrapworthy"! Case in point: I just finished an album of our Christmas Cabo trip. By the end, I probably had 20 photos that were good ones, but they were either pretty much duplicates of others that I scrapped.... or they were boring (love the ocean but who needs more than a couple pics?).... or (and I'm embarrassed to admit this!), the photo of me wasn't very good (swim suits, pool hair, need I say more?). Soooo, I took my little stack of Cabo photos and put them in the box with other less-than-loved photos and put it back on the shelf. Why? I don't know!! I can't remember whose you tube I watched, but they used a square punch and punched out something in every photo that didn't make it into an album and filed those into boxes with each person's name of them. For example, if there are 20 pics of my granddaughter at the park one day, and I only need 3 photos on my layout, use the square punch on all the other photos and throw them into the box with my granddaughter's name on it for a future collage, etc. SaveSaveI don't know if you saw Stacy Julian or not on youtube, but this is something that she advocates. She talks about square punch drawers and has one for each member of her family. SaveSaveSaveSave

I just mentioned to my friend that I didn't have anymore storage room for scrappy stuff yet I keep shopping and she suggested I purge some stuff.... and my heart about dropped at the thought of it!! I mentally went thru stuff and I literally couldn't think of one thing I could be okay getting rid of!!

I don't know why. Wrap a little baker's twine around with the ribbon and tie in a cute metal tag (or charm) and it looks more current. I have a huge basket of ribbon.

My Sizzix sidekick. I know I haven't used it in at least 5 years, probably closer to 10 years. For some reason I can't get rid of it.

Oooh, good question!
I am a borderline hoarder w/so many things. The phrase, "I might use this someday" just loops in my mind. It's awful.
The things that I have a hard time purging are patterned paper, alphabet stickers, ribbon & washi tape. Not matter how infrequently I use them (washi & ribbon) or how unlikely the pattern or color will work w/any photos I will ever take (paper & stickers), I'm always thinking "Maybe someday . . . "

Everything!! Seriously, 2 weeks ago I decided it was time to go through my stuff and get rid of stuff I don't use. I've got so much stuff and I always seem to have a package arriving ... I thought I'd have no trouble at especially since I needed to find some space ... Turns out all I can part with doesn't even fill a large zip lock baggie! And even then there is a Christman stamp in the bag that I'm struggling to part with... AND it's a stamp I know I will never use again because I used it to make my 2014 Christmas cards! My goal is to try again this weekend, but I think success will simply mean actually not keeping that Christmas stamp and possibly getting the zip lock babgie filled-or at least ¾ filled... This sounds like me. I did a really larger purge in winter of 2011 preparing for a move in 2012. I regretted most of what I parted with. I like having the choices. And you never know when you'll need it or when you can use it for teaching classes or kids homework. Now I just tell my hubs, I stocking up for the zombie apocalypse when supplies won't be around. ha.

I haven't traditionally scrapped in many years now. Instead I've been pocket scrapping by using quick, slide in journaling cards. So recently I decided I would purge and started going through my stuff determined to minimize it.
Instead, I ended up "re-discovering" all the great scrappy things I'd forgotten I even had, and found I just couldn't get rid of anything even though I'm not using it. Crazy!

I don't think I've actually ever purged anything. I went though my paper stash one day and weeded out a bunch of cheap patterned papers I had started out with. I think a bunch came from a Costco kit. I couldn't bring myself to trash them though. I put them all in an Iris box and stashed them up in the closet. You just never know!!!
