One can hope it does not come to that. In all likelihood, his defects will destroy him before he reaches the White House. He will bring himself down, and he will bring the Republican Party and its leaders down with him. This would be a tragedy were it not that the party and its leaders, who chose him as their nominee and who now cover and shill for this troubled man, so richly deserve their fate. They had no other choice, it's what the voters wanted. I wouldn't be surprised if they were pulling a Debbie Wasserman Shultz behind the scenes, the problem is they failed badly. That's what I keep thinking, the republicans were screwed either way. They let the public vote as they should or they don't accept the public's vote. Either way with Trump in the mix, they were screwed.

I'm curious if anyone has identified the vet who gave him his Purple Heart?

I'm curious if anyone has identified the vet who gave him his Purple Heart? It was retired Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman, but now according to Politico he's saying it was a replica.

I'm curious...surely there have been presidents in the past that did not display good decision making skills during their time in office either to due to stress, or mental illness, dementia (we all know that most presidential candidates that are in the prime age range for dementia issues) or whatever. Is there some way that they can be lightly isolated from a lot of the meetings with foreign dignitaries and/or situations where they would make dangerous decisions? This is more or less a serious question even though it sounds like I am suggesting anarchy and coups.

Just like a presidential staff these days couldn't pull off hiding President Roosevelt's disability, I think it would be really hard to hide any efforts to keep Mr. Trump under wraps. (Of course, the noted historian Bill O'Reilly claimed - in his book about President Reagan - that the president stayed in his bedroom all day watching soap operas while his chief of staff ran the country.)

I think they managed Reagan a lot. I pissed a lot of people off during his second term as I was constantly saying the lights are on but nobody's home. I was chastised regularly but it was true and it scared me.
