Swim suit
I don't think I've ever heard anyone say "bathing suit" IRL.

I use both terms interchangeably but I probably say swim suit most often.

I don't wear either one. And the world is thankful for it.

Swimming costume or swimming cozzy.
Always swimming, never swim. (A bit like maths vs math - the latter just seems so wrong)

Lots of variations in Australia, depending on the state where you are from. Cossies, togs, bathers, swimmers - don't think I have ever heard anyone say bathing suit or swimming suit.

Wow - I love all these responses. Thanks, ladies! It was just a thought that crossed my mind, so I thought I would ask you all. I have never heard of a swim costume, cozzie, togs, swimmers or bathers. And thank you for that very helpful video, @polz, explaining the difference between togs and undies. Oh, was I suppose to listen to something?

Oddly enough, I've always said bathing suit, but with my 5 year old DS, I say swimming suit, because he always says, "but we're not bathing!"

Bathing suits are what people wear here. Or at least what they say that they wear.
