One more thing, more of a general life pointer: Do not be impressed just because someone has 100,000 or even millions of followers on social media. Or, yeah, be impressed: of their amazing social media skills, haha. But remember that they are ordinary people just like you and me. Do not blindly follow 'authorities'. Be one, yourself. See, I'm full of wisdom today! Like a Yoda boss or something. I'll be quiet now. Happy Friday! Yep, Tracie keeps saying she has 10k listeners yet she has 1k followers on IG. Kinda pathetic for an "expert". Maybe for a self appointed expert. Also she baits WRMK with her following to get a free typewriter and then bashes said typewriter--NOT constructively criticizing. She pretty much says it's junk. So yeah, an expert would know how to play that out better. I mean, I know, maybe I'm an expert?

Well I received an interesting message, via facebook from Tracie. I've been a member of her group for almost a year (?) or at a minimal a very long time.
Anyway, all the sudden she as looking at members names and curious as to where she knew me.
I call BS. She didn't give 2 cents about who I was, or that I was a member of her group before this incident. And now she's curious?
No thanks. I will learn from this lesson and only belong to groups who genuinely are nice, and care that I am there vs. just someone to boost their numbers. And I immediately deleted her from my podcast list and my Facebook groups.

That's the thing very few people these days seem to understand. Yep, she absolutely had the right to post in her private FB group, make the private videos that I never heard about until here, defend herself in this post, just like everyone else has the right to do the same thing. But nowhere in the First Amendment does it say that freedom of speech is also freedom of consequences. You go right ahead and say what you want, but there will be consequences.
Here's the thing. I listened to one Scrap Girls podcast and didn't care for it. I also listened to the Paperclipping Roundtable episode she was on and really didn't care for her on it, either. Both of those were long before this thread. Until reading what she posted about "those type of people" (quoting her directly), I have never shared that opinion. However, when people ask for podcast recommendations now, this will stick in my head and I may share my entitled opinion about how I didn't care for hers. I won't be mean, I won't say anything unfounded, I will just state that I didn't care for it, where before I wouldn't have said anything. Word of mouth is powerful, especially on message boards.

So back to pocket pages just for a minute. My last LSS had WRMK pocket pages in a variety of configurations. Was this before Project Life or at about the same time? I feel like Simple Stories pages somehow fit some of these WRMK configurations. I know I bought some and did an album fr my DH, but I am going to redo it because I don't like the way it looks - it's too chopped up.

I wonder if manufacturers really do read the boards. If they did, I think someone else might make a fortune making 9x12 pp w/3 ring holes.

That ranks right up there with asking wedding guests to fund your honeymoon.

IMO BH's contribution that helped the format gain traction was the simplicity of 4x6 & 3x4 pocket configurations.

I don't get the purpose of the private, critical video. Why give a review and keep it secret? It makes no sense to me at all. Considering I left her group because of the unicorns and rainbows and no negativity, I'm actually kind of shocked that she's doing that stuff on the down low. Or maybe not, but I'm trying to be kind.

I would be really interested to know what happened with Kelly Purkey if anyone ever wanted to grace my inbox with that info... It is in one of the posts that came from the old 2peas board. I read through it. Basically, KP designed a special limited edition stamp for a shop in San Diego (Paper Tales, I believe). Someone asked to order several for her and some friends. After she received the stamps, 2 of her friends backed out of the purchase. She offered them for sale on 2peas with an estimated price (that actually lowered once she figured out fees and such, all so she could break even). It was $15 or something like that for a 2x6 stamp from the shop, plus the shipping she paid. She had posted that she was selling for $25, or less if she could still break even and to PM her with interest. KP saw the post, commented that she was very disappointed that someone would turn around and attempt to make a profit on that exclusive stamp set after being sold multiples on good faith that they were going to friends. Then the business came around to the thread and bashed this person, on the thread, on social media (blog, FB page), etc and basically called her a liar repeatedly, even after peas who were interested in buying the stamp came to her defense and stated that initial asking price posted was actually decreased when she calculated everything in paypal (I believe the initial asking price to cover costs was somewhere around $25 with the note that the price would go down if fees indicated she could make that happen and still get her money back). It was very nasty and uncalled for. On that thread, KP never formally apologized for igniting the flame. But when I posted something asking for feedback on her kit club because I was considering joining (still haven't made room in the budget for it, although it's been very tempting), this incident was brought up and I went to read about it. Word made it's way back to KP and she posted that she had followed up with the woman in that thread and that she was actually a current customer. She apologized and stated that she had learned a big lesson about the whole thing. I took her apology as quite sincere, others didn't, which they were completely free to do. You are more than welcome to read both of the threads about it, one is pinned somewhere and another is a thread I started, but for the life of me, I can't remember the name of it. If you can click my name and see what threads I've started, maybe it will be there? I've never done that, so I have no clue how that works, haha.

I've even asked on several different company's social media. All pretty much said they weren't in the plans. It broke my heart. My biggest issue is that I have a variety pack and several single style packs from 7paper and a couple of albums...most of them are 3x4 pockets with maybe 1 or 2 4x6's. I'd really love a page protector design that has 3 4x6 and 3 3x4 (either all lined up or staggered). I wanted to use my 9x12 albums for a special project and realized my husband took almost exclusive horizontal photos when we went to Disney and because of the page protector configurations available, it won't work. I was very disappointed to discover that.

If Becky comes out with Christmas wrapping paper I am SO gonna buy it and use it on my cards in the Pea Card Exchange!!! 😂 I rolled my eyes...while my husband said 'yeah, people do that all the time'...when she posted yesterday about framing pieces of the wrapping paper. Now, I didn't roll my eyes because of the idea. I rolled my eyes based on the thought of buying a full roll of wrapping paper for EIGHT BUCKS and then cutting an 8x8 or something piece of it out, matting it and putting it in a frame. I can understand that being a PINTEREST idea on how to use things you already own, but to try and use that as a marketing tactic to sell wrapping paper was just silly. It isn't a terrible idea (I've mentioned before liking the idea of 'wrapping' picture frames in holiday wrap as decor because I've enjoyed seeing it in restaurants), but rather than having it's own post, it would have made much more sense to put that as a thought in her launch video...it wasn't useful enough to get it's own shout out to me. If anything, I'd rather her sell thick cardstock prints (especially of ones with specialty finishes) of some of PL kits card designs blown up to be framed. To me, THAT would be a great idea for a home product. I can't tell you how many times I've loved a paper and it's hurt to cut into it all the while thinking to myself how I wish it was a pattern on something I could display in my house!!

This makes me wonder about when I see people saying how mean YT thumbs down is. I happily admit to using the thumbs down. Now I wonder about who is hiding theirs!

So Tracie posted to Victoria Marie's facebook page and not her own? VM seemed pissed from her post about it. I wonder what VM thinks about Tracie bringing the drama to VM FB board and not her own.

Did you inspire an apology over at VM FB Group? Not long after you added this, the below showed up on VM FB Group....... _________ Tracie Claiborne I just want to publicly apologize to all of you for starting the post here that started the drama there. It was late, I saw a lot of critical comments about Becky Higgins there, it hurt my heart and I vented here, thinking I was among friends. In hindsight, not a good decision. I was just making conversation, I honestly did not realize so many would be so offended and take it personally. My comments obviously struck a nerve there but I realize it was my fault for being naive enough to think I could vent in any online forum, even a closed group. This was not the place to do that. I have apologized to Victoria and now do so to you. I keep my own group drama free and would certainly never want this one be any different because of me. It was just an error in judgement on my part since I am human and very imperfect. I do stand by what I said in my post and I believe their comments have perfectly proved my point but this was the wrong place to make it. Going forward, I'll keep my opinions to my shows which is the proper place for them. Again, my apologies. I adore Victoria and so many of you here. ________ How can someone put so much syrup over there and so much vinegar over here?
