I love all of your looks..especially the blonde pics. Seriously, I wish I had the confidence to have my hair that length, it is adorable. The curls and the wavy looks are both flattering.

As a fellow curly-girl, I like the curly styles the best I have found that shorter hair is easier to care for, but I feel more feminine with longer hair. Have you tried the no shampoo method? Since I have started that, my curls are easier to handle and less frizzy. I use the co-wash method, described in this article: www.naturallycurly.com/curlreading/no-poo/how-to-wash-your-hair-without-shampoo/I think you are being too hard on yourself. Your hair, your face, AND your photos look terrific!

I LOVE your natural hair!! Curls and colour. You are gorgeous! Why do all you girls who have naturally curly hair not like it? I would still get a perm, for crying out loud, if my hairdresser would let me LOL! All of my girls have naturally curly hair. Only one of them straightens it completely. DD#3 wears it super short and scrunches her curls. She then just has a side sweep of straightened bangs. It might look cute on you too. It's SUPER easy for her to do!

another vote for shorter blown out... I too have the curly hair drama... I just tend to keep it short so it's easier to blow out flat. I too have super, duper thick hair. I usually blow it out and wear straight for a few day then go to bigger soft curls. I had it all one length, but last cut I had it angled towards face and had the back cut into layers.. I'm loving it. Here's how I usually wear it curled straight

I think you look great with both the blow out and the curly, but your eyebrows are like mine - not much hair and the hair that is there is light. I also have the thicker white ones popping out in them. I've got to do two things to mine to look better. I dye them, which darkens them just a tad, and is really mainly done to dye the white ones back to blonde again. Then I use both a pencil and a brow brush/powder to fill them in. I look so different with normal eyebrows that I do that every day, whether I wear makeup or not. My hair is wavy if I don't blow it straight. I like the ability to do it either way, depending on my mood. I have to use product in it no matter which way I go though. For straight hair, I use a heat shield cream that seems to thicken the hair and keep it nicely smooth, but still with body. I blow dry with a roller brush to keep some body and movement in the hair. (I just picked up some of those roller brush curlers that were talked about in a post here recently. Haven't tried them yet. I hope it is faster than individually roller brush drying each curl) When I go curly, I still have to use something to keep my hair from looking frizzy. My hair is weird. Some is wavy and some is curly. I use a product for curly hair and then let it dry on its own. I hang upside down and give it a scrunch after applying the curly serum. It helps to combat the frizz, holds the hair into more of a "piecy" look rather than brushed frizz. I can only finger comb when it is curly or I'm a mess. I do blow dry my bangs to the side, but I do that first, with a heat shield straight serum. I pin the rest of the wet hair out of the way to blow the bangs, then put the curly "sauce" (as my son calls it,) on the rest of the hair to let dry naturally. I think IPeaFreely is right, you need someone who knows how to cut curly hair, and I would ask them if they can do a style that you can do curly on occasion too. Have them show you how to do both looks, recommend product, and maybe even size of roller brush. Do that and get an eyebrow kit and I think you'll be very happy. And my final comment - your face is NOT fat. I don't know what you think you see, but it isn't fat!

I like the style of the shorter/red cut, but I think I like it better blond. It looks cute curly too, they way you have it in the picture with your son.
Teri - I love your hair! And your dress!
I was just talking with a friend of mine today about needing to find a way to make my stupid, inconsistent waves work for my hair because it doesn't stay straight or curly when I fix it. So frustrating.

Thank you ladies! I did do the Deva cut once and it was okay.. cut wise. I just didn't like the whole DevaCurl process with the hard gel. It was way too much. The picture with my giant son.. I agree, very helmet like. I was growing that out from a bad cut so it's not like that anymore. I definitely plan to hit the Benefit brow bar. I just turned 44 last weekend, so I'm trying to look like a mature, pulled together adult most of the time now.

Brandy - that's one of my sisters. Not psoriasis, but genetics. Her hair is super thin and same thing, she can't do a ponytail either.

Love the red and short style! I have naturally curly/wavy hair - the PITA type of naturally wavy not the always looks good kind, and Aveda's Be Curly lotion is my go-to... A bit of that in my hair when it's wet and even if I do nothing else to my hair the fuzzy/shapeless problem is fixed... It's not like a mousse - no hold, it just seems to make all the hair get along and line up... And it doesn't create curl so it doesn't matter if you're going curly or straight... Hard to explain - it just makes everyone get along...lol But the short cut looks great - I like how it's cut up at an angle at the back, and the length of the bangs... Very pretty

If you still live in the Charlotte area, I recommend scheduling a consultation at a Carmen/Carmen salon with an experienced stylist. In my experience, the stylists/colorists work together to create a flattering look for you, considering your face shape, skin tone, preferences, etc. Best wishes!

I like your hair curly the best too. I think you need two things-a great curly cut and then the right hair products to keep it looking great. I also got a Deva cut once and like you hated the deva products. I have found a great stylist since then who knows how to cut my wavy/curly hair and the best product line-you can find it at www.frizzoff.com The products are called "Curly Hair Solutions" I have NO affiliation with them-I've just tried a million curly hair products and these are different and work great. They aren't sticky or oily. Go to the site, read all about it and you'll see what I mean. Whoever invented this stuff knows what they are doing. You can buy a sample kit or sample sizes of some of their products. Yeah, it's a pain because it's only available right now by mail order and it's not super cheap, but to me it's worth it. It's not any more expensive than any of the other high end shampoos. Right now my favourite products are their Silk Shampoo (I have very dry hair because I have hypothyroid), Pure Silk Conditioner and for styling I use Silk Leave in Conditioner and Curl Keeper. I just comb it through and the waves form by themselves like magic. And no frizz! Absolutely none. I also let it air dry, but this is up to you-I have the time because I work from home. Also don't worry about having to hide your brows. Those are super easy to fix. I only have half brows due to being recently diagnosed with Adrenal Fatigue. Apparently that's one of the signs. Go to Ulta or Sephora. I went to Ulta and they helped me so much. The lady there showed me (actually took me by the hand) how to use the product from Anastasia's line called Brow Powder Duo. Have one of them choose the color for you because I would have chosen one 2 shades two dark for me! Ask them to show you how to apply it. Buy the tool called the Duo Brow/Eye Liner angled spooley brush. The right tools make a huge difference and you need this one. Here's how you do it-You use the spooley part to brush up what hairs you have on your brows toward the ceiling while looking in the mirror. Then you flip the tool around and using the brush part very lightly dip once in the light color and once in the dark color. Fill in where you need to-go VERY lightly at first. You'll get the hang of it soon. When you are done use brush down the hairs of your brows and brush them all in place. Done. It's super easy. I'm a make up klutz and I picked it up right away! It lasts and lasts all day and you don't need anything else. Debbie in MD.
