No local peaches in N. Ohio this year because of the wicked winter. They are usually wonderful. They are importing them from some southern state and they are pretty good.

It's so sad...we usually go pick peaches every year but there was a freeze so there aren't any peaches to pick this year. I'm not a huge fruit eater but fresh peaches are amazing!

Shiver, I can't stand peach fuzz. I'll only eat if someone else peels. Lol

Where I live, there's a very small window for peaches and I enjoy it so much - outside of that window the peaches may look beautiful, but they are mealy and tasteless. So disappointing. But there is nothing so delicious as a truly ripe, perfect peach!

I'm amazed how growing seasons differ so much. Our peach season is almost over. We go to a local orchard to get peaches throughout summer. They close for the season on August 15.

I think good fresh peaches are my favorite. Although I've really been enjoying the cherries this season. I'll keep on enjoying them as long as they are 1.99/lb too.

We still have peaches in the freezer from last season but we'll be hitting our local orachard soon. I love to make fresh peach cobbler! I hope our harsh winter hasn't done them in here.

Love a peach, but hate the fuzz. They have to be peeled before I can eat them.
I love to bake with peaches, too.

Down here in Houston, we've had local peaches for quite some time. Our growing seasons are much earlier than the rest of the country. I love peaches!

Most of our peaches are imported of course, and a lot of the ones I tried last season were a fail - more cotton woolly texture than juicy and sweet! Peaches have now started appearing in our local store and I love them (except for the skins!!) so will buy some on Friday to try and hope to get sweet and juicy!

I like white peaches. We used to get really big ones in Japan at this time of year. I will settle for the ones we get here though.

I love fresh peaches! In fact I love them so much that when they first started getting them in around here from Georgia I bought a whole crate of them! I live alone, I can't use a whole crate plus I was leaving town for 5 days. Thankfully my DD and one grandson love peaches too so I sent them over to her house.

I was looking at places to pick peaches (never picked our own before) and ran into the same thing! I'm wondering if you're from Ohio too. I read that there are NO peaches in Ohio this year due to the freeze. We can still get them shipped in from elsewhere of course, but I was really looking forward to picking some local fruit.

Mmmm, we've had better peaches and nectarines this year than I remember having for several years. It seems like some years they all go rotten before they get ripe. This year we've had some really good ones. I'm pretty sure the Texas peach season is past now but we're enjoying the imports from the north.
