Dear Department Chair,
You have scheduled a faculty meeting every Friday at 1pm. I also have a meeting scheduled every Friday morning from 10am-12pm with my colleagues to work on the NSF grant that we are submitting later this month. This week we have a meeting scheduled with some powerful, successful grant awardees for mentoring. Please, stop changing the faculty meeting to 11am, trying to take away my scheduled working time, and then trying to make me try to feel bad when I can't meet at your new time!
Thank you, Trying to get a $300,000 grant that will benefit our department immensely!

Not surprising but STBXH is probably going to come out of the divorce smelling like a rose with what is essentially my family's money. Ugh!

I work in a very small department, so when one person is out it can be very difficult to keep up with the work load. My coworker's wife just had a baby and is on leave so I didn't go on our annual summer camping and hiking trip with my husband and our friends. Well, work has slowed down so much because of a change in our inventory system so really, I could have gone. I never got a chance to go camping this summer and my husband won't have any PTO after this trip so I'm pretty much SOL.
But I did put in and get approved for a week off at Christmas and I'm not going to give those days up to anybody!

Work: hire more people. We are run into the ground the way things are now. It's been a bad week... All I remember from today is getting to work this morning, and then leaving this afternoon. That can't be good....

If you don't want people to see your personal stuff, don't print it at work. Dear Co-worker - I'm sorry I touched your personal print out, I was not reading it, my confidential HIPAA protected document printed in the middle of your personal crap, so YES it was necessary for me to go through your crap to find it.

We have 3 people in our department. How hard is it to inform all of us of a day off or a half day? I was not aware of one of them taking Friday afternoon off until yesterday and that came from someone else in a different department!! For crips sake, a simple email does the trick! And I did vent that to my boss, too.

Dear coworkers, your childcare is not our employer's problem. Childcare for YOUR child is YOUR problem. Put on your big girl pants and freaking figure it out.

If your daughter really wants to see a show, and you are not bothered if you see it or not, and someone offers to buy you each a ticket.
Be a grown up and say THANK YOU.
Don't say, "oh I'm not really bothered if I see that"
and don't then send your daughter to say... Do you want to know what my Mom wants to see.
No, not really, I am not bothered if I get your selfish mother a gift she really wants or not!!!

Dear coworker, stop pouting because I said I would not do your job for you. I told you my position is to teach you how to do it, not do it for you.
Seriously, he's a 28 year old guy!

The length and breadth of the vent thread that I need would make one's eyes boggle and your mind wither up and run from the room screaming 'anxious, shut the ever loving hell up!' I will sum it all up with the following: Yes, I know that I decided to stay home with my children. No, when I made that decision I didn't realize that it would make my ability to get a job later on a living hell. Yes, thank you parents for helping me out. No, please stop treating me like a 12 year old who spent all her allowance on ice cream and candy. Yes, money is a huge problem right now. HUGE. There. Vent in a nutshell.

When you drink water from a water bottle, do you really have to crinkle it and make noise? Seriously! We are in yoga, trying to be calm and relax our minds {crinkle, crinkle, crinkle) - UGH!!

Same thing happened with us and wisdoms teeth. They gave us ten days. Monday when my DH brought in DS, he just said, sorry here is $600. They were on them to let him make payments. But the day of consultation they were adamant we had to pay that day. As well as the letter they sent before condtation. We still owe $500. And our microwave crashed during the ten days.

The same people are taking Thanksgiving & Christmas weeks off bumping us lower senior people to no chance of getting even a random day off during those times. Well, next year I regain my seniority from prior service time & shoot to the top. They are not aware of that yet.

M I am sick of this mood you get into every time we walk out of the house. It's like your brain stops working and nothing gets in there . Do not care what time it is or when it is. This mood has to stop.
