UPDATE: A PICTURE OF THE BIRTHDAY GIRL.  I am so blessed to have this vibrant woman in my life for so many years. Here's a picture of the two of us. I hope I look half as good as she does when I'm 80. This is how she looks now.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MRS. HOOD.* * a family tradition since we were little, we all sing a song from the Our Gang shows to a family member on their birthday. Spanky and Alfalfa sing to Darla's father "Happy Birthday, Mr. Hood, Happy Birthday to ya. To make your birthday come out good, I sent these wishes to ya. Over 50 years now of doing this little song. |

You are a very pretty woman, Lauren, who will indeed be lucky to look as vibrant as your mother does at 80.
My mom just turned 80 as well. She is doing great and looks very good and sprightly. When my husband saw a picture of her recently, he said, "I love seeing your mother in you. You are a lucky girl." Best compliment ever.
