One that bugs me is when people say "You've got another thing coming." It's THINK. As in, "If you think that, you've got another think coming!"

My husband has several but the one that comes to mind immediately is "high pollutin'" instead of hifalutin. It cracks me up every time.

I worked with a lady who said De Vu Ja instead of Déjà Vu. We tried to correct her but she just couldn't get it. She also said Nova Scova instead of Nova Scotia. She was so cute.

Let me ask you all: Is it "acts of love and kindness" or "acts of loving kindness" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ While you ponder that, I'll admit that I intentionally altered the lyrics to "My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean" because one of my DDs heard it as "my bunny" the first time I sang it. And she loved her bunny and could thoroughly appreciate the pleading lyric "bring back my bunny to me."

No, no, no I always say "you've got another thing coming" I agree. I believe "you've got another think coming" is relatively new and is more of a play on words.

I can't think of any that haven't been mentioned but these are so funny.

25 yr old just told us he thought it was "dont upset the apricot". Tee hee. Instead of apple cart. Around these here parts people say "why i was at the store" instead of WHILE. WHILE i was at the store. Why does not replace WHILE and WHILE is not so long of a word it needs shortening.

My son thought the hymn said, "He socked me & He bopped me with His redeeming blood." (Sought me & bought me.)

I have a friend who recently referred to a downpour as a "frog swoggler." I've always heard it "frog strangler," and that phrase is in the urban dictionary. Wondering if frog swoggler is a regional variation. Has anyone ever heard it? My friend is from the northeast US. I'm from New England, and have never heard of either of those!

I think your friend inadvertently joined "frog strangler" with "hornswoggler." A frog that can con you out of your money?

For years I said mute point instead of moot point. I was really cranky at dh for pointing it out (in a not so kind way). I didn't believe him at first. I was really embarrassed!
