Is this a regional thing but do men normally jog without a shirt on? I am assuming here as I don't jog but if I did people would like me to wear a bra and tshirt. Why do said men exercise with no shirt on? My front street is NOT the beach or swimming pool or any such other place. Even a wife beater would be better than nothing. If a guy is driving a car without a shirt on my question would be why? Is this cool? Maybe it's a regional thing or something. I just find it kind of weird that's all.

Lots of men do it here. Never thought anything of it/in the scope of things, it's not a big deal to me.

The guys I know that don't wear shirts do it simply because they are hot. Lucky bastards. I wish I could go topless when I'm hot but we live in a stupid society that decided boobs were to be sexualized and completely taboo. Pisses me off.
To be honest, I don't really notice when guys don't wear a shirt. It just is.

Pretty common here, and yes, while it doesn't *bother* me, I always wonder how so many women get through the summer wearing a bra AND a shirt, when apparently it's so hard for so many men to do.

I see both shirtless and shirt wearing guys. I always envy the shirtless guys their freedom. My general sense over the last few days of threads is that Americans have a lot of issues with skin.

Yes it's very hot here and plenty of attractive men with 6-packs run without shirts on, I enjoy the view.

Because it's hot? I see plenty of women jogging in just a sports bra.
Not all men jog shirtless. I think it mostly depends on the temperature. The men I see out when I am jogging are wearing shirts. It's 6:00 AM. The men I see out running in the hottest part of the day often do not have shirts on.

Oh I have seen a couple girls running with just a sports bra, probably working on her tan line. And one woman had her shirt tucked into her pants, so I figured she was going back to the office and needed a shirt to walk in the building. I often run during my lunch break.

The thing is that if you run a lot, the shirt chafes your nipples. So most men runners that I know will take their shirt off when then can to avoid this.

It is really hot here. REALLY hot. The less clothing the better sometimes. We have a central location where there are tons of runners. What I can say is that more often than not, it is all I can do to keep my eyes on the road. I am, apparently, a dirty old lady who can't stop ogling the fine specimens of manhood. Holy cow. Just the other the college ROTC boys were running and every single one of them was in fine, fine shape. It was all I could do to keep my eyes on the road.

They bitch and complain about how f***ing annoying wearing a bra and shirt is and how f***ing lucky men are that they don't have to deal with the bullshit that women have to deal with in the summer. I hate Ontario summers and the f***ing intense heat and gross humidity that makes anything other than being naked entirely too much clothing. It's disgusting that I am in a full sweat the second I leave the house because I have to be f***ing modest because my body has been sexualized by society so that I cannot be comfortable in the way that a man can. (Can you tell this was a recent conversation for me and an incredibly sore point for me? )

Why? What is so offensive about a man running without a shirt? Regardless of the fact that society requires me to wear a shirt, it wouldn't be practical for me NOT to run covered...at least by a sports bra. If I didn't, that run would be painful to much more than my shins.
I'm a runner and if I could, I'd run with as few articles of clothing as possible. It's just more comfortable and I don't fault a guy for doing it.

I see men with and without shirts and never thought anything about it. It is hot. I also see girls in only sports bras but probably not as often as I see men with no shirt.

I quite like like seeing men without their shirts on, so long as their breasts are considerably smaller than mine.

I am being too judgmental I guess. I am sure Ontario summers are too hot for anything so I will give you that. Here you can't ride a bus without a shirt on. Can you do that where you are?

Very common here to see men with no shirts when it's hot. Interesting thought ...seems like men are much more comfortable with their bodies. I have seen men who are far from a six pack with no shirts on and they don't seem to think a thing about it. I rarely see a woman in just a sports bra unless she is well-toned.

I saw it here though where two young men (cute too!) wanted to get on a bus after they had been boarding at the local beach. Their tshirts were wet and they didn't want to wear them. The bus driver made them put on their shirts. I don't know if that was the right or wrong thing to do. Their t-shirts were soaking wet.

I have no idea if you can or not. I can tell you tomorrow when I get on the bus to cross the city to Taste of Danforth. But honestly, runners are not likely to be catching the bus... they are on a set route that will take them back to their house/gym. I'm not sure I understand what there is to be judgmental about. They have the right to be topless. There is nothing wrong with them being topless so why not take advantage of that? I sure as hell would. Thank goodness it's been cooler than normal. Typical Ontario summers leave me very angry and very sick. I get punchy and stabby when I'm not down for the count with migraines.

Back in the 80's or 90's it became lawful for women to go topless. I don't know of any that have done it and it will not be me doing it but you could always check it out. And I am speaking of Ontario.

Running without a shirt is completely different from walking around town, going in stores, restaurants, driving or riding a bus. In these situations, if it is hot enough to consider taking off your shirt then common courtesy says you need to have clothing on to absorb your own sweat. I can't imagine sitting on a bus seat after a shirtless guy has coated the back of the seat with sweat. Even our gym requires you to wear a shirt and wipe down equipment after use. With the improvements in moisture wicking workout clothes, I think chafing is the main reason for running shirtless. Women wearing a snug jogging bra do not deal with the chafing men experience.
