Loyalty ProgramThis will just solidify me purchasing most everything on Amazon. I think this is going to hurt them, not help them.

Agreed! I don't think their prices are competitive enough without those coupons. In fact, I will only shop there when I have one. I hate that they started doing the 10% when they "expire".

I agree...their pricing is going to have to be more competitive if they do away with the coupons. The store closest to me is dingy and worn looking and I really don't care for all the HBA or whatever stuff they added so I generally choose Macy's over BB&B lately.

I disliked when they changed the coupons to 20% then 10% after a very short time. I don't shop there often, and that made me shop there less. I am certainly not going to pay $30/year to receive 20% off. The amount I would have to spend to recoup that fee is more than I would typically spend there in a year.

I only shop there with a coupon. There is no way I'll pay $29.00 to participate in a loyalty program.

I think I go in there twice a year if that. I did some price comparisons and found that the only time shopping there was worth it was when I had a 20% coupon.
Amazon continues to get a good chunk of my shopping.

I've often found them to be overpriced even with the coupon, so I rarely go there. Maybe 1x per year, when it's a weird thing that I don't know where else to find.

I keep their coupons in my vehicle all the time so I do use the coupons. There is something I need from them right now that I probably wouldn't shop online for. Some things you just want to see and feel in person. However there are many other things I can buy online and save the drive particularly if I'm not going to get the 20% off.

Nope, won't be shopping there if that's they way they are going. Their prices are not competitive. Everything is at or above regular retail. Having the coupon is the only thing that made it worth shopping there.

I had no idea the coupons went to 10% after awhile. When stores constantly offer coupons, it makes me not want to buy anything there without a coupon. This place, Kohls, JcPenney, and JoAnn Fabrics. I think their prices are higher to reflect the "savings" from the coupons.

I don't shop there often, but if I can't use a coupon, it will be almost never.

I only get a certain set of sheets there and I use a coupon for those. I will not be paying for a loyalty program. Hmmmm, guess I need to find other sheets now.

The only time I shop there is for my soda stream refills & only with a coupon. I'll find some other place to trade in the co2 canisters & get new ones.

I'm another who doesn't shop there enough to warrant paying $39/year for a loyalty card.
No, BB&B, your coupons are not why your earnings are down. The fact that your quality and selection has declined, your prices are high and your stores have become a cluttered mess are all factors in why I rarely shop your store today. They remind me of how Linens & Things became in the years previous to going out of business.

At the end of the article, it says BB&B will continue with the coupons:
For people who shop there a lot, the loyalty program may be preferable. You automatically get 20% off your entire purchase so you don't have to bother with having multiple coupons. Those who only shop there occasionally will still be able to use a paper coupon.
As for expired coupons being reduced to 10%, that's not happened at my BB&B (yet). I have been told in the past that each store's manager can set their own coupon policy, so that may explain why mine hasn't moved to reducing coupon value.

Nope. I don't shop there enough to make that worth it. We don't have one in our town. I have to drive an hour to get to their store. Last year I only shopped there 2x.
When we lived in a city that had one, we shopped there often. If we still lived there, then I can see where I might consider it.

I didn't know they reduced oldere coupons to 10% either. We go there all the time for CO2 refills for the soda stream because it's less expensive there than anywhere else with the coupons. We go through a lot so it adds up.

All of my BBB's still accept the 20% off even on expired coupons. It may be more regional than store by store. I have 4 near me.

They are just SO overpriced. Even with a 20% off coupon their stuff is more than I would pay. I don't think I've ever actually purchased anything there. That chain is in trouble.

The only time I shop there is when there's a wedding registry and even then I can just send a check. Thanks but no thanks bb&b.

I go so seldomly and find that their prices are not competitive and I too am bothered by how "full" or cluttered the place has become. It makes me feel a little claustrophobic a bit and I don't feel that at any other store.
Oh - and I'm not fragrance sensitive, but I swear that place exudes strong fragrance that even gets my head pounding.
I always think I need to go there when I get a coupon in the mail - but end up not doing it.
Their loyalty program is not going to work for me to encourage more visits. I too will stick with Amazon.

I probably go there a couple of times a month. Ours still accepts the full 20% off.
I have a pile of coupons, also a few 20% off the entire purchase when I am buying a lot a stuff--like a bunch of towels, groups of items when I don't want to use up a lot of coupons--as long as it's a large enough purchase.

We buy our K-cups there and some items that are cheaper than ULTA especially with the coupon. Ours are always 20% off. I really like the $5 off a $15 purchase.

The only thing I've bought there in the last 2 years is a set of sheets, bought with a coupon of course. I find that store to be overpriced and just not very visually appealing in any way. That's why they're in trouble, not the coupon usage. Duh.

This is interesting. I have two stores, so convenient, one I pass almost daily. I hardly ever stop though, their store is crammed and awkward. If text or email coupon has expired I feel like I need to wait until I have the paper one. But it must be my problem- how many forms do they need to send me discounts?
I'm not enticed to shop there!

Ours will take the time to figure out what coupons work better (20% vs $5 off $15) even when I have several coupons. They will take 2-3 of the smaller items for $5 off $15 then do 20% off other ones. Luckily it has been at times where there weren't people behind me. Can't imagine that happening at Christmas and having people fuming behind me for holding up the line!

I bought an electric blanket last week and with the coupon I saved about $55 with it. That's the only way I will shop there. I love my blanket, but really? $55 is a LOT of money to save!

I am convinced that they only stay in business because of the wedding registry. In fact, that's the only thing I've purchased there in the last year.
A little over a year ago, I purchased something (can't remember what) via mail, and when I opened it, I saw that it was broken. I returned it to the store, but they refused to refund my shipping costs as well.
I am almost exclusively purchasing from Amazon now.

I don't go often but I have a WHOLE stack of coupons...that's how much I go...last time I went they took as many coupons as items I had..3 coupons for 3 items...not sure if they are supposed to do that but worked for me. But hell no I am not paying to shop there.
