Loved Jessica's face as the votes were read. I don't really blame her for not trusting Ken, she hasn't gotten to know him well enough to know what a sweet honest guy he is. This isn't really a spoiler, but a comment about the previews. I don't know if everyone watches them, so don't want to give anything away. But poor David! He made that huge move that cost him his idol to get off the bottom of his tribe, and they're going to switch tribes next week.

I loved this episode.
What a terrific move David made. He is so wishy washy that I would never had suspected him to make that bold of a play. I am almost sad that he loses the idol for when he may need it!
I will say with a smile on my face that THANK GOODNESS Ken is still here. I do like Ken 😍

That was an awesome episode!
The guys came back from the Gen Xers last week tribal council all pissed (understandably). It was funny though when Chris said he didn't want to talk about it when the ladies tried to explain, but then got pissed when people started talking about it without him.
It was unfortunate to see how quickly Lucy through Jessica under the bus though and Sunday went right alone with it. I don't blame Ken for getting irritated with Lucy. I mean come on! It was bad enough that she told him who they were going to vote for without trying to discuss or get their input (or even pretend), but then going so far as telling them they are not allowed to TALK to anyone else and she'll be mad if she sees them doing that! Lucy, have you ever watched Survivor?? And please don't make this a sexist thing--she's blunt and most men appreciate it but Ken is like a woman, all emotional. That right there put you on my poo-poo list. Nobody wants to be bossed and ordered around without any respect for their ideas or opinions. If anyone is telling you they do like that, they're lying. I thought Ken came across very strong, standing up for himself. Unfortunately, Jessica is a dumbass.
Okay, the challenges...They were both pretty great. I was so impressed with the Gen Xers on the reward challenge, especially Chris. Those Millenial guys were just like rag dolls against him. I gotta give credit to the Millenial ladies though, especially Michaela. She was a warrior. When she kept going with her top taken off it reminded me of that time Sugar got her top ripped off in that one challenge. I loved it.
I think it was awesome that one kid on the Millenials (can't remember his name) found the HII. When he said "This is for you mom!" and then explained what she is going through, my heart broke for him. So now both the skinny outsider guys have HIIs. Perfect! What a big mouth Hannah was though, yelling over to him "Hey, are you having any luck finding that idol?" Can someone put a muzzle on her?
The immunity challenge was so disappointing. They did so awesome getting all of those puzzle pieces down. They're choice of putting Chris up there shocked me at first, but it seemed to work out. Then the lighter guys, Ken and David, kept up a good pace too. I really thought the Gen Xers process for solving the puzzle was better. That's what I would have done. I do better when I get those letter tiles up there and start physically moving around. I was really disappointed Ken, and especially David, didn't do better. David needs to start earning his keep a little better in these challenges.
So much crazy discussion back at the Gen Xers camp. Jessica foolishly spilled Ken's beans to Lucy, who was infuriated. Wasn't he paying attention when she told him not to talk to anyone else except her?! Then everything started going haywire! I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I started worrying about Ken but thought surely they won't get rid of one of their strongest players. One of my favorite moments at TC was when Jessica asked Ken "what, am I just supposed to believe what you say 100%?" and Ken looked in her eyes and said "Yes" and just kept holding her gaze--cracked me up. Then David shocked the crap out of me when he played his HII to save her! The look on Jessica's face when he did that, and the look that STAYED on her face as she watched her name show up over and over, was hilarious. Her eyes were like saucers the entire time. At least she had the good sense to say "thank you" to David at the end.
The sad part is, David saved her so that he could keep the numbers on his tribe and now the tribes are switching things up next week. What a bummer for David.
I'm interested to see how things pan out. And of course I'm worried about my favorite Gen Xers.

exactly what Jackie said!!
I'm so glad they got rid of Lucy, she really did not play that well at all (although does anyone else find it weird that all the asian players were the first ones to go? Plus Paul). It was like she had never watched survivor before, don't play so hard & don't be a bully! Her social game stinks
I loved David giving Jessica the idol to save her, that says a lot about him & his character & who he is as a person. But I do worry for him next week. I can't wait to hear the after-tribal discussion back at camp
and I loved Ken telling Jessica to believe him at tribal too!

Watched it. That puzzle took forever I found that shocking.
The water reward staging area was gorgeous. I want to be there.
Why did Jessica's alliance throw her under the bus ... Paul issue?

Omg Tanya, I didn't even think about the Asian thing. In fact when I read it, I thought, who's the other Asian. Then I remembered poor Mari--she didn't deserve that.
I agree about the water location shyone. I was thinking the same thing--I want to go there!
As far as Jessica's alliance turning on her. I think they started having some remorse the next morning. The guys were all mad at them and they started feeling like they made a mistake. To get back in the guys' good graces they decided to blame it all on Jess since I think she was the one who first voiced the idea. That was pretty harsh though.

I missed the first twenty minutes but I loved Tribal. Didn't like Lucy from the beginning. I really like David more each week I have to wait until Friday to catch the first half on On Demand. Next week should be interesting.

the woman who was voted out in the first week was asian too - so that's all 3 asian players gone right at the beginning
most likely just coincidence - but very odd

Jessica owes Ken a big fat apology. He was trying to save her arse. The stupid Lucy is doing the same thing she accused Jessica of doing when Jessica lobbied to vote Paul out. Only Lucy basically dictated it. I hope Figgy and her boyfriend get separated! Our new nickname for Michaela (whom we have in the the pool) is ta-tas. Great tribal! BTW for those who don't know, the young kid who found the idol whose mom had cancer, she passed away 2 weeks after filming completed so she never got to see him on the show.

I think the contestants are sworn to secrecy with a confidentiality agreement but I hope the producers gave permission for him to share everything with her. Or that he did it anyway.

Oh man! I turned to my dh and said "I hope she stuck around long enough to be able to watch her son on Survivor", especially since she's a super fan. What a lovely tribute to her. At least she did get to know that he was on it and she got to see him when he came home. And who knows, maybe the Survivor folks even let her watch some of it if they had anything put together. That would have been lovely. I'm not sure what kind of shape she would have been in those final two weeks, but she may have been able to watch if they allowed that. Also, wanted to add Dalton's recap for those who are interested.

Just finished watching it omg that was an awesome tribal council!
Sucks that he gave up his idol and thought he'd have the numbers but now the tribes are being reshuffled but he really had no choice since if the teams remained the same next week.
I could give a crap if the love interests stay together but I really hope Cece, Dave, and Ken stay together.
I just heart Ken and I love that he doesn't panic and the way he said Yes to Jessica when she asked if she was supposed to trust him omg he said so much with just that one word!
I am glad Lucy is gone she got on my last nerve with her bossy attitude.
Adam's story about his mom was so heart wrenching.
I wasn't surprised it took a long time to figure out that puzzle however players should know it's usually a well known phrase or a play on a well known phrase.
I am loving this season so far!

I'm interested to see how things pan out. And of course I'm worried about my favorite Gen Xers. Jackie you said everything I was thinking but wrote it so much better than I ever would have. I agree with everything you said above. Lucy got on my every last nerve. To have the gall to think she could order the other Survivors around like she does her children because she is a "Tigermom" at home, and believe they would all fall into rank and file behind her and obey is ludicrous. Well, some weak ones might. Maybe one or two-like Hannah? But my favorite Survivor Ken was having not one bit of it-I cheered when he rebelled as soon as he got out of her sight and started plotting her demise with David. I have to say David is really growing on me too, and at the end of the show when they showed the review for next week and we saw that it's tribe mix up time, I was sad that David, Ken, Cece and now Jessica won't get a chance to use their alliance of 4 to get ahead. Still, David using his immunity idol got Lucy out and saved Jessica-I would hope that would mean he now has her as a very trusted alliance member. I hope David and Ken get to stay together on the new tribes. I was really loving the Millennials vs. Gen X game so I'm actually sad to see a mix up already. Jessica seems to me to be a bit slow as far as the game goes. Why wouldn't she believe Ken when he told her her name was being written down, take that information for what it was, be grateful for it and follow the plan to vote Lucy out? I sure wouldn't go running to Lucy to verify it-what good would that do? Hasn't she ever watched Survivor? Who would you trust-Ken or Lucy? Obviously for me it would be Ken, but maybe since Ken was at the bottom and Lucy was in her core alliance she thought Lucy was the one to trust. Still, I don't know, given how mad those two men in the tribe-the big guy (is his name Chris, sorry I can't remember) the two who got blindsided on the vote to vote out Paul, after that vote, if I was Jessica and knew how mad those two guys were that night coming back from tribal, and Ken came up and told me my name was on the chopping block for this upcoming tribal it would make sense to me. What I'm saying, in a very round about way with run on sentences is I would have believed Ken. I'm not liking Jessica much at this point. The challenges were great. Isn't that water incredible and doesn't the beach look gorgeous? I don't know if you all remember but when we first started discussing this season I said something about not knowing where this season was taking place and when I started watching the first episode and they said "Fiji" I got super excited, because I have always wanted to go there. It's in my list of islands to visit. Hopefully by sailing there one day, and if not by plane if I must. I love being in the water and snorkeling-it's one of my very favorite things to do. I'm sure Fiji would be amazing for that. Anyway, that challenge was great-it was amazing to see how strong Michaela was, she was all business and concentration. Such determination! Ken was great too, and I was saying to DS that even though he is on the bottom (well was, who know what happens now) I hope they realize how much he contributes to the group challenges. And then that swell almost knocking Probst off his feet! Yeah, such a tender moment when Adam (I think that's his name, could be wrong) found the immunity idol and then talked about his Mom having stage 4 lung cancer. I had tears in my eyes. Hannah (ugg!) I hope she didn't see him with it. I've really been enjoying this season right from the start and usually it takes me a few episodes to get into it. Can't wait until next week. Oh, and I hope Figgy and what's his name get on separate teams!

OK, is it just me and my shallow, judgmental observation, but did LUCY drive you crazy because her forehead didn't move and therefore I kept thinking that she had botox right before she got there? lol! Anyone else notice that? Yep, I guess I'm being snarky today.

I agree Debbie. It's interesting to read Dalton's recap because he sort of broke down the thought process Jess *should* have went through in determining whether to believe Ken or not. I think it's spot on.
I can understand why he didn't at that point. Jess had proven to be untrustworthy. She immediately ran and told information that he shared with her privately. Even when confronted with the truth at TC and with Ken's long stare, she still didn't seem to believe. I might have cut her loose at that point too. What's funny is, I thought that Lucy practically admitted at TC that she told Ken to vote for Jess. It seemed like Jess was just not listening. Her mind was so closed to the possibility that she couldn't see what was right in front of her face.

I am really enjoying this season - both the cast and the AMAZING location. I loved tribal, especially Ken's unwavering response to Jess that she should trust him. She really didn't understand how the others in her alliance perceived her after she orchestrated Paul's departure (with encouraging from Ken, David & CeCe of course). It's like it never occured to her they would see it as a betrayal. I think she saw herself still strong with Lucy, Sunday, Chris & Bret against Ken, David & Cece. That she went immediately to Lucy when hearing her name was being put up just wasn't smart. I'd have gone to Sunday and indirectly tried to see what I could find out. David took a massive risk using his idol for Jessica, but if he didn't and they ended up back a tribal next week, his own alliance was going to be eroded. The real question is will Jessica wake up and realize who has her back in the game? I do think that move put both David and Ken in good positions to get the Legacy Advantage if she is out before them. With the shuffle next week, I hope the idol is back out there and David finds it again. I think Figgy and her boyfriend are more vulnerable on separate tribes if the others at risk are smart enough to use the information to target them. I think whoever ends up on the same team as Michelle will go furthest. So glad Adam found the other idol and Hannah has confirmed herself as an idiot in my mind.
