Dailykos makes the argument to cancel the last presidential debate. Agree? Disagree?

Cancelled--not because of the sex crap.
There has been nothing of substance--the moderators ask stupid questions!!!

I would be fine if it was cancelled. Seems that things just keep going downhill and I don't see that changing. Particularly since Trump is now "unshackled".

I want to see a moderator with a backbone of steel. Mr Trump, STFU and answer the question. Give the moderators a kill switch, if they don't answer the question, go over the time, go off on a ranting tangent to BFEgypt, or just plain liar, liar, pants on fire, the moderator can just kill the mic. Now that would be worth watching!!

Don't care. I won't be bothering with the last one. My personal POV is that they've become nothing but reality TV draped in red, white, and blue bunting.

Didn't click the link yet. I'm concerned about a complete and utter meltdown on Trump's part on national TV. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if he physically attacked her. Effin' loon.

no, why should it be? because Trump is on a scorch-the-earth tirade? because it will more of the same thing? no. let it play out and then we will be done with it.

I almost want it cancelled, it's just so hard to watch. I can't imagine we are going to learn anything of substance. Just more of the same train wreck going down the rails.

No because I think Chris Wallace is one of the very few people that can control a debate between those two.

A cartoonish National Pride overtakes the citizens (inhabitants?) of the USA? We ask the debate to be cancelled in order to avoid further airing of our public shame. i think we should vote next week and finish it.

I want to watch the circus. At the last one DH and I were discussing whether or not he would take a swing at her, the way he kept glaring and following her around. Wonder what happens at that point? Does the secret service just wade in and break it up like a bar fight? He's physically scary, appears to be emotionally unhinged and people still want to vote for him. It's crazy.

Other than further temper tantrums and name calling I feel it would be more of the same. I'd rather go to the polls and be done with it. Put America out of their misery.

As little as I feel like having another debate where I have to shoo my younger kids out of the room, I don't think it would set a good precedent to cancel a debate because one of the candidates has gone bat-doo-doo.
I am going to channel Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth, and say "Then let him sign it, and let it all be done."

To be fair, it wasn't like he set out to do that. Someone else tweeted out something supposedly alleging that she has ties to the Clinton Foundation and Lou Dobbs retweeted it. He apologized for that mistake.

I had a whole big post typed up, and if disappeared. No, they should not cancel the debate. I'm not reposting everything I said, but the short is that people deserve to see these two debate the topics they are presented with.

Yes, I think it should be canceled. I don't think Hilary should lower her self to appear with him. However, she must because if she doesn't she will look week.

The show must go on.
The last thing I want is the fringe elements to have ammunition for their BS "rigged election" conspiracy theory claims.

This would be a good start, but I would like the moderator to have a "Pants on FIRE!!!" graphic with flickering flames that they could put up across the bottom of the screen.

I don't think Chris Wallace is going to be able to control Trump anymore than the other moderators.
Trump is not going to want to talk about the details of his positions or plans to "Make America Great Again" because he doesn't have any. His entire agenda is nothing but sound bites. Besides he wants to blame Bill Clinton for everything. Nah At this point I would rather watch my regularly scheduled programs.
A little sidetrack from the topic at hand. But I read somewhere the reason Paul Ryan marginally supported Trump because if elected he felt he could palm off his (Ryan's) platform on Trump and Trump would support it. Then I read Eric Trump had told some potential VP candidate they were looking for a strong VP because this VP would be setting the domestic and foreign agenda because Trump would be off somewhere making America Great Again. From what I have read neither Pence or Ryan's agenda would be acceptable to Trump's core supporters. Because it's the same old same old they are rebelling against.

Not cancelled but it should be moderated such that they stick to the topic at hand and don't defray from that. No bringing up anything about Bill Clinton or the emails or the Billy Bush situation, we want to know the other stuff about what they plan to do on other things, plans - actual plans, not just "I want to do xyz" with no substantial detail or at least a little more detail as to how they plan on going about it.
I don't want any drama, hissy fit, name calling crap. Just question asked, answered because this is getting way out of hand. Can you imagine conducting a job interview like that? I compare it to that because this is a job and it's just insane how it's gotten derailed over other stuff. Not that I dont care about that other stuff, but I think at this point we need to hear about the nitty gritty stuff.

No. I would love to see Trump lambasted one last time bf the election. My favorite parts of the debate are when Hillary is trying not to laugh while Trump is on some tangent that has absolutely nothing to do with the question asked or he's spouting absolute lies. I don't know how she keeps it together.

As little as I feel like having another debate where I have to shoo my younger kids out of the room, I don't think it would set a good precedent to cancel a debate because one of the candidates has gone bat-doo-doo. I absolutely agree. That said, during the last debate I literally felt shaken. The sideshow of seating those women in the audience...the special prosecutor/prison threat...the simmering rage...the petulance...the looming. But mostly the threats. God, the threats. Made me want to throw up. And then to learn so many others thought those were brilliant moves instead of the moves of a dangerous, out-of-control brute hell-bent on subverting any collective sense of decency in order to feed his own ego and indulge his own revenge fantasies. So yes, the show must go on. I just really, really don't want to watch it. It scares me too much. WE scare me too much.

I think several of you have brought up what has worried me - the fact that I couldn't sit and watch with my youngest because of, not only the subject matter, but his behaviour being so menacing and inappropriate .
