My husband and I are looking to find a hobby that we can do together that we will both enjoy. Right now it seems like we both do our own thing and neither like what the other does. I am into photography, sewing and running. He is into watching tv and playing computer games. We did country western dancing some last year before I fractured my ankle and enjoyed that.

I have friends who like to follow professional bike races. They have been to the Tour de France a couple of times and they follow all the big names in that. That is kind of an interesting hobby to share. They also curl all winter long. They also have season tickets to a professional football team and go to some hockey games together.
My husband liked it when I drank with him every night. That went on for about 8 months until I got pregnant and then had to stop and never went back to it. Not a good hobby to have.
My cousin and her husband like to cook gourmet food every night. They aren't happy unless they are in the kitchen cooking something amazing. They spend a LOT of time together cooking like that. They live to eat where as I eat to live. It could be something you and your DH could take up.

We go to Bootcamp and my husband is just starting to take up running. Next year we are doing the 11km at Waitomo Trail Run, running the Ekiden as part of a relay team and doing 16km at the Tarawera Trail Run.

We like trying new restaurants together. In the summer months, we go on Garden Conservancy garden tours together. I feel your pain because our likes are generally so different. He would love a wife who likes fishing and camping.

I suggest two activities, each related to one of your individual interests:
- Take a walk/stroll around the neighborhood every night or weekend mornings/afternoons
- Have a weekly movie night &/or sports game day

Camping, hiking, walking or jogging, watching certain shows (we also have shows the other can't stand, so I'm excited when I find something we can both enjoy), some board games, sometimes cooking, puzzles on a stormy day, motorcycle rides on a nice weekend day, exploring local parks/nature preserves, drinking beer on a hot summer day , I don't know...I'm always looking for new things for us to try. We did some geocaching for a while but I sort of fell out of love with that. He's a really good sport about pokemon go while we're out exploring on the weekends, too. He was annoyed by it at first but now he'll ask me what I caught, do I have that one, what does it evolve into, etc. LOL He likes to look at old things in thrift stores with me, and he really likes to help me look for found objects when we're exploring that I can turn into art projects later.

My husband and I are quite different in most activities. We do enjoy going up the mountain pass to a little gambling town and we also go for a walk around the lake every night. We take the kids out for dinner once a week too. We do go outdoors together quite a bit.

We like to do projects together like rebuild an engine, build some furniture, remodel a bathroom etc. and we work in the garden. My backyard is like a tropical jungle and it takes some work to keep it beautiful so we love gardening. Then sometimes we smoke a bowl and sit under the orange tree in our rocking chairs and just talk and talk and talk. We just like hanging out together. We make each other laugh.

We hike together. We also try new restaurants and go to plays. We also watch our kids sporting events and watch the debates together.
The best thing we ever did together though was train for half marathons.

College football, ATVing, camping, wine and/or beer tasting, hiking, and planning our next vacation travels. We love our separate time, but really enjoy planning our "our time" together.

We Crossfit together! We also run races (mostly 5Ks but we are heading to Disney for a half marathon in January) and go on a lot of date nights. If there is good food and alcohol, we are there! We don't really like much of the same TV but there are a few things we will DVR and binge-watch together once a week or whatnot. ETA: I thought of another! We don't do this often but it might be an idea anyway. I usually have a puzzle table set-up and I was surprised the first few times I would find my husband sitting there, working on the puzzle. So I guess we sometimes "puzzle" together too. SaveSave

I almost asked the exact question the other day. For the last 10 years my husband has had conference calls 5 nights a week. He just changed positions and now has calls only one night a week. Plus we are now empty nesters.
I am limited in what physical activities I can do because of my medical issues and my husband isn't a huge tv person. Following this thread for ideas.

We go for walks (sometimes only short ones). We drive out into the countryside with a flask of tea and watch the sunset. We go bird watching. We visit local tourist attractions. We play boardgames with friends. We cook each other meals. We take little roadtrips off the island we live on and go to ' the mainland' for the day. We both have different hobbies but our desks are facing each other so we do our own thing, together. We are currently working through lots of TV series on Amazon, one episode a night. We watched all of Red Dwarf and we are currently on season 8 of the X files.
Writing that all out I am surprised we have time for anything else, really!

Before kids, DH & I used to actually love to spend time together doing our own activities side by side. In other words, I'd set up my scrapbooking in the room where he was playing Playstation.
Or I'd curl up on the sofa with a puzzle book while he watched TV. Or if I was upstairs crafting, he'd come use the computer in the same room.
Now, we often put together little day trips or even just a few hours out that involve things we each like. A cemetery for me, a gourmet cooking shop for him, a playground for the kids, etc.
DH & I together like to find new restaurants to try, to check out local museums, art galleries, cultural or historical sites, etc. We like taking walks, so we look for new neighborhoods, trails, etc. to walk. Sometimes we both just settle ourselves on the deck with a cup of tea and talk.

One of our favorite things to do together is explore a new or old-favorite restaurant. We are very adventurous with foods and often order something complex or different. We dissect the dish as we eat so we can try to recreate it at home. We like to grocery shop together and both LOVE to cook. We spend a lot of time planning our imaginary restaurant that we want to own. Lol.
Other things we enjoy are evenings with friends, estate auctions, travel, and home-improvement projects. We also do experiences like dance lessons, cooking classes, wine tastings, bourbon tastings, and Broadway shows.

This sounds pretty lame, but we like to watch sports together (especially college football), and we have two TV shows that we regularly watch together (Outlander and Poldark). I have gotten into a lot more fitness activities in the past year, and I am currently trying to get him interested and maybe walk/run a 5k with me, but so far he's resisting. We work different hours and it's hard for us to just take walks together once fall comes, as it's cold and dark when he gets home. We also go to concerts and shows together sometimes, but I don't really consider that a hobby or activity since it's more of an occasional thing.
