She just pet sat for me while I was on vacation, so I kind of owe her! I like it though, especially binding.

I'll join. I just started getting back into sewing after a very, very long time. I have recently discovered that I enjoy quilting as well. I made my first rag quilt last year and it was a success. I am thinking about a jelly roll quilt next, after burp rags for a shower present.

I made a couple more projects. First a case for my sunglasses: Plus a " bionic gear bag" to use for a travel bag (I used zippers from my stash-that's why one of the inner ones is a different color. Also everything I used was from my stash. The only thing I bought was the pattern).

Can a cross-stitcher join here? I might be missing the weekly cross stitch thread but I didn't see if for a few weeks. I have maybe an hour of stitching left on this project that I started in 2011. I've worked on it off and on and I'm so excited to almost be done. The chart is called One Nation and it has been a love/hate relationship. I love the way it looks. I've hated almost every minute of working on it. It's been one of my least favorite projects to stitch. I will have it ready just in time for our local county fair in two weeks.

That cross stitching looks awesome! I used to do counted cross stitch but between my terrible eyesight and carpal tunnel syndrome I haven't done it in ages.
@**GypsyGirl** that table cover sounds great-I love the look of pleats. I have so many projects planned it's overwhelming. We leave tomorrow for 2 weeks so I have 2 weeks of worrying about other things. lol

Wow, what an inspiring thread! I am so happy to find others that talk the 'same language' regarding sewing quilting & crafting. I have not been doing enough of these things lately. I could feel that something was missing and once I started getting back to doing what I love, I could feel the difference that it made. This month has included a lot of little projects that had been left undone. One by one I am finishing things. There is a long way to go and with someone to 'talk' to, it will be a lot more fun!

I love seeing all the pictures of the projects. this may have been asked -- how can I include a picture of my quilts. I use my iPhone to take the photos. Any info would be appreciated. I would like to share the quilts I have completed. Thanks

I found some fabric I know my mom will love in my attempt to make handmade Christmas gifts I started a quilt for her - the quilt top is pretty much done and I really like how it turned out..it is only my second quilt so I was not sure if it would ;-)

Gale, I'm loving your bags! I've been needed a new wallet and those patterns are cute. I might go check them out.
I've finished the wedding dress. All that's left for that is the corset and that's DD's project. Two skirts are done and three blouses for the bridesmaids. I have two blouses cut out and started. Still waiting on dd to draft the patterns for the other two skirts. I was desperately hoping to have all the sewing done by July 31 and I'm not sure I'm going to make that deadline. everything is turning out pretty well though. The sheer blouses are a lot harder to deal with they I hoped, but I'm managing. I researched how to deal with the fabric and found some great tips that are really helping.

I've been trying to clean up lingering sewing and craft projects and actually got a few finished last month.
The projects I'd like to complete in the next few weeks are:
1. Finish sewing an apron for a friend's birthday gift; 2. Mend clothing that needs it - fix buttons, hem pants, tailor a few skirts, etc.; 3. Repurpose an old dresser into a kitchen for my toddler.
I'd also like to get my first quilt started but would like to finish these lingering things before I delve into an entirely new project.

I do a lousy job on those. If you ever want to sell one of your sunglass cases, let me know! I'd be happy to buy one

Thanks GypsyGirl! I will have to have my teenager help me get this done, so I can share some pictures of the 2 baby quilts I just finished.
