I'm trading out our king size bed for our old full size mattress. I'm going to replace the furniture as well. I wanted bedding with yellow and gray but didn't find anything I liked. I found this today, dd and I both like it. In case the color doesn't show properly, the background isn't white, it's like a cream or off white, light wheat color. I think I'd still like to use yellow as an accent color. I picked up a few wall hangings from Hobby Lobby along the way that would go well with that color scheme. What color wall paint do you think would be good? Curtains? Anything else I should be thinking of? Keeping in mind that dd just painted her room gray and I also picked up gray for the bathroom. I didn't have much choice there, all the fixtures are mauve and I wanted to get away from pastels. What wood do you think would look good with this set? I have always liked the idea of a sleigh bed, do you think that would look ok? I am a ways away from actually making it happen. First I need to get the wallpaper removed. Before that, dd needs to get her stuff out of my room that's been in here since we had her room painted!

I would go with a wheat colored wall, or cream colored. You could accent the bed with yellow pillows and yellow throw. It sounds cute!!

A soft yellow would work well with the grey in your bedding & will blend into the other rooms.

Here are my wall hangings. Don't mind the mess.

I do like that bedding set. I think a soft yellow would look nice for the walls and help your cream colors not blend together. Lighter than what's in the Scripture print, though. You could still accent with yellow. And there's something warm and wonderful about waking up in a yellow room.

LOL cyndijane you reminded me of something. My parents painted my brothers' room that bright mustard yellow! Or harvest gold? Not exactly calming.

I like everything but the drapes. I'm not even certain how you could accent or accessorize those to make them look better. They just hang wrong like an ill-fitting dress.
How do you want your room to feel? I find yellow to be too energizing for my bedroom, even a very light one. What about a griege? A gray/beige like have become so popular. The right one might pull in your bedding background and yet not clash with the other gray in your house.
As for the bed, are you used to a footboard? I've known several people (all taller than myself mind you) who LOVED the idea of a sleigh bed but couldn't actually live with one. I think it also depends on how high the footboard is. You don't want it to block your view.
Be sure to post pics once it's finished! I would love to see it.

I love the items you already picked out, and I think they would work well with either a light creamy wall color or a very pale grey (like dove grey). Add accents in your favorite shade of yellow. I don't love the valence on the drapes - it looks too busy, maybe you could find something with a more subdued pattern, like the laurels and vines in the Faith-Hope-Love trio. (Or just no pattern at all).
Yes, please post pictures when you're done - it'll look great!

Check out Sherwin Williams Ivoire. This is a nice creamy color. Almost like butter. Soft ivory with a strong yellow hint to it.
Of course lighting in your room might make it show different.

I really like the bedding and think yellow pillows and a yellow blanket or throw would look beautiful. For paint, I think I'd go with a very pale cream or maybe a very soft, buttery yellow. A very light greige might work, too. I'd probably paint some samples on the wall and check them out in daylight, lamplight/overhead light, etc. Not a fan of the matching curtains. I'd probably hit Pinterest and search yellow and grey bedrooms. I've seen some beautiful examples there. Please do post photos when you're done. It sounds like it will be lovely eta: I forgot to say that if going from a King to a Double will free up a good amount of space, you might want to think about a pretty and comfy chair that you can read/lounge in.

Love the bedding, think the curtains would be "too much." I love your wall decor and think teal or deep blue accents would also look great and would complement the bit of yellow in the one print. Have fun!

I love the bedding, but hate the matching curtain. Actually, I really only hate the valance part. The long, gray curtain is fine . A soft wheat color would be calming on the walls. I've always picked yellows from the palest option on orange color swatches. I know it sounds odd, but I found even the palest yellow on a yellow swatch was too bright or had a green undertone. ETA The wood color on your faith/hope/love framed pieces is what I'd go for with the furniture. SaveSave

I want to take that valance and cut it up and use it to trim out the very edge of the gray curtain. And then I bet I still have enough to make a throw pillow with the rest of valance fabric.

That's very pretty bedding! I like urge idea of a hint of yellow, but not much more. I'm sure you will make it fabulous!

Love the bedding but not probably the matching curtains. In terms of wall colour I'd go for something very neutral rather than yellow, but agree you need to paint up some boards with different colours to actually see how they look in the room both with natural light and at night.

We have a color from Behr paint called "Kansas Grain" on our walls in most of the rooms. It is def. more yellow than it looks in the sample but not crazy bright. It gives a nice contrast w/white trim.

I would stay away from gray since you already have a couple rooms... and im not a fan of yellow.. it doesn't calm me... so i would go with a creamy color.. I also really love jeremysgirl idea of adding some trim of the valance to either the side edges or bottom of the gray panels... project time!!! Lol.. its a very pretty print... I hope it brings you peace and comfort... Positive thoughts and prayers for ur family during the holidays..

Yellow is a very tricky color for walls - I'd definitely lean more toward a cream/wheat.
For wood, I think anything that's not too red/cherry would work. Brown, grey, black or even cream tones (see nightstand in curtain photo) would work.
Sounds like a fun project - hope it stays that way during the wallpaper removal process!

The bedding set is pretty! The curtains are not. (Plus, I'm not a fan of matchie-matchie.) Sleigh beds are very cool. However, if you don't already have a footboard, think about if you ever sit on the end of your bed. Personally, that's my special pull-on-my-socks place.

I like the bedding too and the pictures. To me the curtains are a heavy looking and the valance? or top curtain just weighs it down more.

I had Sherwin Williams Compatible Cream on my bedroom walls for years. I loved it, but it didn't go with my new bedding.
It would look great in your room. It's more of a light gold than a cream.

I also would go with the wheat or cream color.
We painted my daughter's room yellow once and it was the hardest painting we've ever done. The guy at Sherwin Williams told us that yellow paint is thinner. Requires more coats. And it streaks.

Have fun! That does look pretty but I'm tired of the blue family. And dd has light real bedding with her grey walls. I don't want to look too matchy matchy.

Most of my house is painted pale gray, so you know where I'm at on this choice. I love the bedding but not wild about the curtains. I'd prefer wooden blinds and sheers.
