And let us not forget Yubon's latest stunt. You just put a Yubon Coffee into the White House. Good fucking job. Next time you want to hand-slap me for ANYTHING I say, you can just shut your fucking pie hole, you ignorant hypocritical cunts. The peas on her awful thread are laughing, encouraging her, giving her high fives for always telling it like it is. Funny how DOnald Trump "tells it like it is" and those very same peas lose their absolute minds. May I point out the difference. Trump is president elect of the US Yukon is not. What Yubon says here or off this board doesn't really matter in the big scheme of this. But when the president elect of the United States acts in public like a thin skin vengeful school yard bully who lies then it does matter and it matters a lot. You're right, Trump's behavior and words are worse because of their reach and precedent and his position of leadership and responsibility. HOWEVER, Yubon's post is rude, demeaning, tacky, and just fucking obnoxious. It is beyond inappropriate. She doesn't get any kind of pass because she's not the president-elect. As far as I'm concerned, she completely broke the rules of engagement for this board.

You just put a Yubon Coffee into the White House. The personal attacks that are bothering me the most is the broad brush, ALL WHO VOTED FOR HIM ARE ____________________ and that thread where people said that they truly felt like that. That's what I found so discouraging. Not saying that the individual personal attacks were fine...but that's not really where my mind was when I posted about not being personal attacks. I hear you. And would also like you to hear those who are saying that liberals are very, very often painted with that same broad brush. More human nature-it doesn't seem as egregious when the broad brush is being used on those you disagree with. WRT Yubon, I have often agreed with some of her bluntness. But the day she treated alyca the way she did, I just couldn't overlook that. There's a line of human decency that she crossed with that post. And yes, it's surprising she didn't get banned. I don't know if her posts in that thread were reported or not. I do know that I considered it, and then didn't because I figured admin was getting bombarded with reports on it. I am willing to give admin the benefit of the doubt. though. She puts up with so much immaturity and stupid, whiny complaining when she's been so generous with her time and gone to so much effort to accommodate our requests for things on board setup, etc. FOR FREE. And then people whine and bitch at her and hairflip and deliberately start multiple threads about the exodus to stir up the drama. Beyond rude and childish. The assholes who ran twopeas did it because they were making big profits off all the hits that the notorious-ness of the always brutal and comtroversia NSBR brought to their site. And then they had secret boards personally bashing their customers. So yeah, I've had an assful of the whining about Admin's latest decisions.

I WISH I could figure out how to quote after there are a ton of other posts after the one I'm trying to respond to. I always end up with every post on the thread. So I have to do a copy and paste thing. QUOTING -Make sure you're on the page where the quote you want is. -Choose REPLY at the very top of the page. -Scroll down to the post where the quote you want is the bottom quote. -Hit QUOTE in that post's corner. Only the bottom quote in that post should appear in your new post. (With this process, you often have to go to BBCode to smush the quoted words more together so they appear in a box instead of just as a glob of text. This usually involves reducing/deleting the white space between the end of the quote and the [ /quote] symbol - and sometimes the white space at he beginning of the quote. Then hit PREVIEW to see how your post will look.)

She was specifically looking for a way to isolate the middle quote.

Wow. I remember the smackdown Wildcat Mom gave me on the old board over a teaching disagreement. I was pretty new there. It was HARSH and oddly personal--although she didn't know me. I didn't leave the board (which would have been silly). But it forever colored my perception of her.

The "Do you really feel this way?" thread is one that I will remember forever. As will many members here, I suspect. For the community, that thread was very very bad timing. I'm sure the OP had no idea, as she was thinking about the question from her own personal perspective, but looking on (I lurked for three days, wouldn't even sign in), I honestly couldn't imagine that thread proceeding any other way than it did - in almost any online community with a range of political ideologies. So in that context, it was a colossally bad idea. I find it almost impossible to construct this next sentence so it won't be provocative, but I'll try: ANY presidential nominee, either party, who was as unprecedented in his public behavior (civility, statements, tweets, exhortations, name calling, threats, basic decorum) as Mr. Trump would undoubtedly cause his opponents, either party, to question how much his supporters supported that behavior, and how much it reflected their own values. Especially if asked. (Heh. Extra sentence alert.) That thread was a train wreck before the passengers even boarded the train, let alone left the station. The fact that the station had been so recently burned out made the journey even more perilous.

I always just backspace on the stuff I want to get rid of like I just did here. Thanks. Yes, that's also an option. Depends on how much text there is. When Admin alerted us to the process I described before, I started using it instead of having to delete whole quotes or two quotes. Snowsilver cuts and pastes (but she said it was annoying her). Different strokes for all our virtual toolboxes, eh?

There are plenty of people attacking democrats as well. I think we just tend to see and feel the comments that are relevant to us more personally. I think things will die down--there are already more on-political posts. I know that I personally and feeling much less emotional, angry, stressed. Not because I am reassured that Trump will be a good president but because I am using coping skills and they are being more effective. . I am limiting my time on Facebook because I still see tons of posts that are negative towards democrats, and the fact that people can't seem to move past themselves and try to understand why someone else is hurting, scared, or worried. Scrolling past those posts, not watching news all the time are helpful. I think there will probably be political threads for awhile as things keep coming up but hopefully Trump won't give us as much to talk about as he did in the campaign. I hate to see anyone leave so hope you stay. Just don't on the political threads for awhile.

Not saying any political party in particular because it could have been either, but last year people threw such a huge fit about coffee cups not being Christmassy enough. It was all over the internet for weeks. At times it seemed like some people had lost their minds. I really think people (both sides) get carried away and say or do things they don't intend, or that they really hadn't thought through. The teacher part of me wants to tell people to apologize and if someone is brave enough to do (and mean it) that the other person should try to forgive them. Forgiveness is for the victim. I think in many case it does make you feel better. When you look at Obama welcoming the man who said some pretty rough things about him the last two presidencies, it makes me proud.

I was on the old board too; I think I registered there in 2001. Elections were always rough there. People who supported Obama heard just as much there as Trump supporters have here. It wasn't just criticism of Obama. His supporters were told they didn't love their country and that we only voted for him because of his color among many other insults. I stuck it out and it passed there as it will here. I just read a thread from the day or two before the election between Obama and McCain. Honestly, I didn't remember being here then, but a whole lot of memories are coming back to me now. The right were called terrorists and worse. I remember one poster (I won't name names) who decided all southerners weren't worthy of spit since they were voting Republican, but she wasn't biased because she had marched for Civil Rights. And on it went. Selective memories going on here indeed! But the difference between then and now is that a whole lot of people realized the absurdity in the extremes. We could joke about them, and were able to separate ourselves from them while still having fun and maintaining friendships. Not this go round. The extreme portrayal of the right is considered gospel truth to all but a few liberal voices that are being drowned out. They can't be any happier about this than I am.

I'm sorry Wildcat mom, I'll miss you. I know exactly how you feel because I am in the same boat. I'm <<<this close>>> myself. I think I'll just spend some time on other things these week and then peek in again and see if some ugliness has died down. It's really unfortunate that some people can't see what they are doing here and how intolerant, immature, and mean they are being. It's mind boggling, really. The response posts to a long time member leaving are even so rude it saddens me. Maybe y'all need to pay attention to Melania's anti bullying platform. And my post too will probably be met with more of the same. I've been here 17 years. Sure, I can skip the "bad" stuff but not only is most of it bad right now, there's just an underlying current of ugliness that my "friends" no longer like me and don't care to really know me. yes, it is. They attack Trump for it - for doing just what they do.
maybe Melania will start with the pea board in her anti-bullying project?
she could use it as an example of how not to be... here there are adults doing it, and then they'll post wondering why young people do it. They learn it from the adults around them.
we've had those posts before when it hits the news about a young person being bullied online.

Wildcat mom was the first person to attack me over politics. Because I didn't like Ann Coulter. And so very sweetly suggested that I leave the country if I didn't understand/appreciate the first amendment.
Dish it but can't take it. Republicans chose to put a sexual predator (among other things) in the White House. People are allowed to say what the fuck and draw conclusions from that choice. are you telling the truth here? or lying? or being sarcastic?
that's not an attack. that's giving you an alternative to open politics. and according to your words, 'very sweetly'.
that's the left... Trump gave to them what the left regularly gives to the right... the left sure doesn't like it when it comes TO them.

She told people their child were wienies for seeking help from a counselor if they were upset over the election. I agree with the ban. I will never condone wishing ill on a child or condemning them for seeking help. She has a long history (the first one goes years back). You think she's turned around after starting a coloring thread or posting pictures of her family and then berates parents for seeking help for their children. I saw that and was very disappointed in her. Furthermore, I don't recall any conservatives here speaking up about that. I skipped a whole bunch of threads and only randomly meandered through others this week. I didn't even see it. I have addressed Lauren when I thought she was out of bounds before, but on the whole, I found it was better for my blood pressure to leave the most outrageous posts from any side to all of the others who take them to task. I'm one of the few conservative voices left, yet I am neither a forum moderator nor a party whip tasked with keeping people in line. I refuse to be guilted into feeling like I let down the board by not doing a job I don't have.

So, getting 'like' back doesn't set well with those on the left. Yet those on the left are here giving the same thing they don't like in Trump to those on the right. still. again.

Look, Lauren knows she goes a bit too far sometimes. But have you ever noticed the things that are said TO Lauren? Usually without her even deserving them. She usually couldn't even post an innocuous thread about how lovely the sunshine was today without some Pea saying something lousy to her. She wasn't good at shrugging things off, but she definitely was NOT deserving of banning. I'm sorry cookies I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't remember if you were part of Peas back when Lauren was really bad. If you were, surely you can agree with me that she has made unbelievable strides in becoming a better person. I can tell you this--there are a number of liberal Peas who know Lauren personally and like her a lot. She has a kind heart and is more than willing to be helpful when she can to most anyone. But she can be a bit thin-skinned (again, I'll bet she'd say this herself) and she's not real good at taking snottiness when it's handed to her. She IS pretty good at apologizing when she goes too far which is more than can be said about some of the ones who seem to live to try to get under her skin. And I don't think your post was snarky in the least . Lucyg is good people and one of my favorite liberals. Yes, I've been on 2peas since 2001 ( I think-could have been 2000) I most certainly do remember things that were said TO Lauren. I also remember many of the unbelievably hurtful and viscous things SHE has said to others. And not just the really infamous incident. Has she made unbelievable progress since those days? Absolutely. Did she take a hellacious amount of flack for things she hurled at peas over the years? Absolutely. I'm not going to excuse away wrongs on either side. She's just as wrong as anyone who hounds her and anyone who hounds her is just as wrong as she is when she's being mean and nasty. I've come a long way in my opinion of Lauren, and I have tried to engage her respectfully for quite a while now. I do think she probably is a good person. You are defending her behavior from the other night on t this thread* and saying she didn't deserve to be banned, while scolding others for far, far less. That bothers me. And the thing is, I do think Lauren probably is a very nice person who *is* very thin-skinned. I don't know for sure because I haven't met her in person and I haven't seen how she treats and interacts with people in real life. From the way you defend her even when she behaves indefensibly behind her keyboard, I'm guessing you do know her in person. That's great. But it seems very mean-spirited of you to claim that Lauren's ugly behavior can be excused as thin-skinned while peas who have been taunted by Lauren in very cruel, personal and vulgar ways are very often treated condescendingly by you then they themselves get "thin-skinned" and lash back. You'll defend Lauren's lashing back but no one else's? You're ok with her cursing and "vulgarity" when she's "pushed" but not from others when she's doing the pushing? That seems either very hypocritical or very mean/cliqueish to me. And I've seen you behave that selectively before, but was unable to come up with any other names right now than Lauren's. I definitely don't want this to turn into a Lauren bash, because my issue right now is your selective defense of people that you deem worthy of your defense while deriding others for acting the same way as the few you defend. That's kind of the crux of so many issues on the board. It's always been this way, and it's always so much worse during election season. I'm not trying to attack you, just feeling frustrated with your seemingly selective scolding. And I do want to thank you for answering honestly. *there are many more examples on this board where Lauren absolutely is the instigator in the jabs, barbs, and attacks. I haven't read that much on here since the election - a page or 2 of a thread here and 1 there... and I've posted on them. I've read a few of Lauren's posts and even replied. What I saw were liberals attacking her. Her reply posts weren't 'ban' worthy. and very mild. and I agreed with her... so if something she posted was 'ban' worthy, I missed it. OTOH, I do know that over the yrs liberals peas will pop up on a very generic nice post/thread by Lauren and rake up things from many, many yrs back. Shame on them. The libs just don't let up - they've carried it from many yrs ago to present.
If she came back at you with like manner, why be so upset? you dished it out. (that doesn't include anything about anyone's race)
The left doesn't like being pushed against, crossed, told they're wrong etc. And they are very nasty if someone does that. You can read it on online comments, listen to it on the liberal media (about anything 'named' with letters). you even hear it on Fox when they 'balance' their panels with a dem. They had an adult female dem on earlier (Cookie?) who was crying and said she was hung over... That is what people around the world are seeing and hearing. that's what our youth hear also.
Trump just gives it right back to them. It's like the libs are having to hear themselves when he talks, and they don't like it.
It seems like soon, the liberals on 2ps can probably just sing to their own choir. If someone dares to post who isn't a lib, you can all just beat'm up with nasty names and go back to singing again.
I post on other forums mostly. 1 I've been on for 6 yrs or so. After the election, 1 person posted a not nice 1 line about Trump. The forum went silent for about 24hrs and then 1 or 2 (me included) posted back a few lines that made it clear we didn't agree. And then the forum went silent again for a few days. We don't post about politics there. Someone did. Others let it be known not to do that. No one responded with a bad word or name calling.
