That's so cool. Tommy Tippee should make that cup for the general population. People would buy it because of this story.

Update Tommee Tippee searched all their factories and found the mould for the cup, so they are going to do a production run of 500 cups so Ben's family never have to worry about trying to find the cup ever again. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-devon-38141319That is so absolutely wonderful. I just kept thinking of the panic that father felt for his son. Could you imagine just needing this one thing for your child to be well, and trying to find it, and it being no where available? The Tommee Tippee company has done a wonderful thing.

I hope the new production works. I had read the dad's Twitter and the son was refusing the replacement cups, because he preferred the only cup he owned for so many years. I hope they can resolve this.

I hope they can resolve this. Yes, it seems to have worked for Ben as there is nothing on his Dad's twitter account saying that the new replacements are being rejected. They've taken delivery of the first batch of replacement cups which are exactly the same as his old one. It was other types of cups that Ben was refusing to use not the replacement cups that the company has now made for him.

that is an amazing story! I hope that the school will keep one there for him to use. I can't stand the thought of him not drinking anywhere but at home.

Thank you for posting this. What a wonderful story. I love that the company got into it and will help the family out.
My youngest kids are teenagers, but I'm sure there's a local charity that could use some new Tommee Tippee cups/products. Off to check Amazon.

People are so good sometimes. Way, way back when my youngest was a little thing, he attached himself to a Gymboree blanket as his lovie. Of course, by that time, it was too late to buy an identical one (you know how Gymboree changes patterns and styles quickly.) He was going back and forth to his dad's (we were divorced) and on more than one occasion the blankie got left and we had more than a few tearful nights waiting for the fedex truck to show up with the love of his life. After one such night, I called the company to ask if the could tell me where there might be a place they sell their old stock and I was almost in tears myself (lots of other crazy stuff happening in my world and it was a big old sob story.) Somehow, I ended up with someone in their corporate office who for whatever reason took on finding a replacement blankie with missionary zeal. She and I must have talked three or four times and before I knew it, their sample showed up on my front door step with a lovely note. From that time on, there was a daddy blankie that lived at daddy's house and a mommy blankie that lived at mommy's house. No more did blankie have to travel. Mommy blankie is currently folded up and in my box of little boy treasures. Sometimes corporations really do care.
