I discovered at my last crop, after going through nine years of photos, that I don't have enough pictures from my active duty Air Force days to fill up the snazzy AF 12x12 album I had set aside for this purpose. Apparently, no one bothered to take more of me in uniform or at work or during any number of other opportunities for a photo...*sigh* So I had to downsize to an 8x8. DH will get the 12x12 album, along with all the others I have for his career. Granted, he was in for 28 years versus my nine, so of course he has a gazillion pictures. I just thought I'd have more than what I found of my service. Yes, I'm disappointed and feeling sorry for myself. Boo hoo.

Can you pull photos of places online to add to your stories? Thank you both for your service. I think you deserve a big fancy album, too.

You know, those are great suggestions that honestly didn't enter my mind. I'll have to find and go through whatever memorabilia I have from past assignments. That may draw out some stories I could journal. I usually use photos and old calendars to jog memories of past events. But since I have so few pictures, and didn't start saving calendars until after I separated, I wasn't thinking my AF stint was going to be worthy of a larger album. Maybe it will after all. I'll see what I can do with what I've collected. I really want to do this for my kids, as they were all so little (or not born yet) when I was in uniform. And selfishly, the benefit to me is having a tangible record of something I was really proud of doing back in the day (mommy wore combat boots too, lol). Thank you for giving me some ideas to work with!

So frustrating now but at the time I was uncomfortable being pregnant. The whole people touching my belly and peeing my pants every time I coughed, I didn't like pregnancy. But I regret it now.

Aw, I'm sorry, I can sympathize with this too! I have none of those artsy PG shots that are so sweet and prevalent now. Just a few random pictures of whatever event is going on and I happen to be in them while pregnant. (My pregnancy regret is never opening my eyes to see my kids being born. At that point in time, my eyes were squeezed shut and I was way done with the PG thing. I just wanted them out!)

I just thought of something...and it would probably be good to have it. I don't have a good inventory system! Not only is this important for insurance purposes in the case of a disaster, but it's really helpful in terms of knowing what I have and where I can find it.

(My pregnancy regret is never opening my eyes to see my kids being born. At that point in time, my eyes were squeezed shut and I was way done with the PG thing. I just wanted them out!) I hated being pregnant. Pregnancy is psychological torture for me and I still haven't recovered from my second child's pregnancy and my third child will be 2 in 2 1/2 months. I let my husband take a few pictures of me, but I'm not anxious to look at them or anything. My 2nd pregnancy was the worst physically and it started the downhill roll of my mental health, but my daughter's was the worst on me mentally. There are a few pictures of me that my husband took, but the only one that I feel good about is the one I took with my cell phone (indoors, not really the best quality) of my belly from above. It is literally the only picture that made me feel pregnant and not like I was just super fat. Depending on how old your kids are, photos might not have been as important. Even during my oldest son's pregnancy (he just turned 6), social media was still up and coming and the cell phone technology that we have now was nothing back then (I think 1.3mp was the camera quality...that is front facing camera quality now, maybe even worse). I think my regret is that I don't find money in the budget for studio photos. Even department store ones. We did one set for my oldest's first Christmas and they are still some of my favorite photos. I have several from this year that I absolutely love, but because I'm behind the camera, they aren't family photos. Our family photos are simply in front of our tree with the camera on the tri-pod. We used to luck out and get them quickly because the boys loved taking pictures when we weren't the ones behind the camera (seriously...no smiles for us, but they smiled for every family member who asked to take a picture), but last year, not a single one of them was cooperative. I am really hoping they'll cooperate more this year. Since we have new pretty floors, I even want to try for some artsy ones of them sitting in front of the tree...but I have low expectations, so I don't end up disappointed, lol.

I don't have anything to score my cardstock for cards. I see on You Tube people using some kind of scoring board or they use some bone thing for scoring. I am out of the loop on that!

Night Owl, are you thinking about a scoring board? I am a card maker and do not really do much scrapbooking. I make a few mini albums. I use my scoring board and bone folder a lot. They make full size scoring boards and smaller sized ones. I have several of them and use whichever one is handy.
Here are a few ideas. I don't know if these are the least expensive prices. Between looking at Walmart and Youtube, you can get an idea of what is available and how to use them.
Martha Stewart Scoring Board This does look like a really good price unless the shipping is high or something. I didn't check out the shipping cost.
Martha Stewart Crafts Mini Score Board, 9-3/4" x 7-1/2"
Scor-Pal Scor-Buddy Mini Scoring Board
Scor Pal Scoring Board My Scor Pal is an older one and is I think marked off in 1/4s, not the 1/8ths. Buying a new one, I would purchase the scoring board marked off in 1/8ths.
I find the Scoring Boards a necessity for card making.

I don't have anything to score my cardstock for cards. I see on You Tube people using some kind of scoring board or they use some bone thing for scoring. I am out of the loop on that! The SU trimmer has a scoring blade that comes with it. So does the new straight blade trimmer from Fiskars (it's supposed to be similar to the one with the wire...it takes blade K and they sell 2 packs of refills that include either 2 blades or a blade and a scoring attachment). Many people just get a bone folder or use something similar to a pokey tool, but it comes with a two different sized ball pointed ends...the one I have is from SU that pairs with the simply scored board, but I only have the tool. Then, if you have a straight blade trimmer (since the cutting guide has a gusset instead of the solid one a rotary trimmer would have) you can just use that gusset to do your scoring. If you are going to go for a bone folder...I suggest looking up reviews. From what I gather, you won't ever regret going with a Teflon bone folder over something cheaper!

I don't have any enamel dots. I never have and don't plan to buy any. I think they're expensive for such a tiny detail. I'm fine with brads. After seeing this, I need to pull my brads back out to substitute for my enamel dots sometimes. Good idea!

I don't have enough room or enough time.
For physical supplies I don't have enough albums or an electric cutter that cuts thin wood. I really want a silver bullet or a klic-n-kut.

Well I thought I had bought everything I needed for a while, but NO since now I need to get some juicier ink pads to use with the embossing folders I just bought! This is a crafter's circle of life.
