I would like some suggestions on what would be a good gift (not a gift card) for a couple who are going to spend 2 weeks in Ireland. Someone else already purchased the Rick Steve's Ireland Book and backpack, so those are out. Any other suggestions? My budget is 100.00, and I will be giving spending money as well.
Thank you!

How about a waist belt/bum bag (not sure what you call them) for their passports, money etc while out and about?
Or nice leather accessories like washbags, document wallet, luggage tags...even if they don't use all of them this trip.

Do you have a travel store nearby? They'd have a lot of options.

Raincoats, umbrellas, Ireland is wet! I do agree with just giving the money, no need to give them more stuff to pack and carry.

It isn't necessarily that I want to give them stuff to carry, I would like to give them things they can use on the trip. They have money themselves and they are being gifted a nice sum, I really want to give them something tangible they can use on the trip. We live in rain country, so rain coats are already owned.
Thank you for the suggestion of leather passport holders, that might just be the ticket!

Leather passport covers would be nice. I have a lovely leather passport cover, but I got fed up of having to remove it every time I used my passport (they're not machine-readable in a cover). I passed it on to someone else who didn't care about that!

When DD and I traveled to London this spring, I used this Baggallini RFID Passport wallet. It is awesome. You can reverse the wristlet handle on it, threading the cloth part through the ring on the wallet, so that you have the little clip end free to clip the wallet inside your larger carry on bag to make it super secure. I sewed a couple of metal keyrings inside my backpack and my carryon bag to have a place to attach the wallet to make it pickpocket proof. I could unzip my bag, retrieve my money and the wallet always attached to my bag. It has enough room to put a credit card or two and some cash. Baggallini Passport Case

What about some sort of carryon for the plane to bring back all of their treasures? I also have a version of eBags for my suitcase that I love when I am traveling abroad. You can keep dirty clothes, jammies, and whatever apart from the other clothes. It also makes going through customs (if you get checked) a little easier. No one is grabbing your dirty drawers.

Are they the 'journaling' type?
What about a leather journal, but have it embossed with their names, Ireland and the dates of their trip?
Whenever we travel somewhere big, I'm always wanting to write stuff down, add tickets, put schedules, postcards, notes, etc.

Rain boots. My niece had to buy them when she got there. Other than that, very compact umbrella and/or gloves

Leather passport covers would be nice. I've never used them and never saw the point. I would just give them cash and tell them to enjoy a nice dinner on you:

I like the idea of a travel journal. Something with pockets.

Where are they going? The has to be a pea who can recommend sites, restaurants, places to stay. You could put a list together from pea reviews.
Sometimes I am not fond of rick steves. And would check other resources if he gives a place a thumb down.

I got the BEST travel gift from Container Store. It was an organizer pouch that you could hang on the tray table latch on the plane. It was great because it had a place for phone, tickets, passport, charger, and area that was waterproof for lotion, etc. I didn't have to go under the seat to get stuff I need out. Really, it was fantastic!
Also, wool compression socks. I got a super cute pair from REI. I couldn't believe the difference it made having them on. My brother uses them for long distance travel and raved about them.
It's such a long flight and those two items really made a positive difference in starting my trip off right!

I agree with ebags... we use them everytime we travel... they do wonders for keeping things orderly in a suitcase...

How about a voucher to get their photos printed up in a nice book when they return? or extra memory cards for their camera?

The travel journal is a good idea. So are the packing cubes. I own the Rick Steves convertible carry on backpack/suitcase and use packing cubes with it, it really makes life easier when traveling. I love the idea of that back of the seat organizer. Off to find it.

An electricity adapter? Although I'm not sure where you are based so maybe the outlets are the same.

I love the packing cubes I have. But a wattage converter is a must if they don't have one. We have one with an usb in it and it worked great.

RFID Passport covers, Jackery charger, hanging toiletry bags ( eBags Pack it Flat - I didn't like at first, but now can't travel without), anti-theft bag

You guy are great, thank you. I really appreciate all the out-of-the-box ideas. Things that they would not have thought of themselves, that is what I was looking, for you guys are the best!!!
