It isn't fair that pets don't live longer !!! We had to say good-bye to our precious, 12/13-year-old guy that we'd only adopted 10 months ago; but we loved him SO much, we felt like he'd been with us forever. (we say 12/13 since there weren't any papers on him when his Dad or whoever it was hastily surrendered him to rescue ---we go by our vet's estimate.) We knew when he came to us, that 12/13 is considered EXTREMELY elderly for a bulldog. This was hubb's and my first time experiencing that horrible moment when the vet tells you all the facts, gives you alternatives, then asks you to take time to discuss it. Thankfully, there were no doubts in our mind that it was time to let him go. We're obviously so very sad, BUT---also thankful he's at peace now! So happy he met Santa Paws, too , and that our 2 doggies got along very well with him (unlike some other fosters we've had...lol ) He's the cutie on the far right

So sorry to hear this and kudos to you for taking care of him when he was so old to begin with. That is an awesome photo, love it. I too think it is not fair that our precious pets don't last as long as we do.

I'm so sorry that you had to say good bye to that sweet baby. He was a lucky guy to be so loved the last days of his life. It isn't fair that thy leave us too soon. Thank you for opening your heart and home to this old man. Every dog deserves to spend his final days basking in love and warmth. Dread sends sloppy kisses. ❤️❤️❤️

Oh, I'm sorry! We only got 8 months with our last dog, and I felt so ripped off. Loving senior dogs is a hard road, but so worthwhile. Thank you for loving him until the end!

Thank you, everybully!! He was our second senior to adopt, and we love them so much, I'm sure we'll foster and/or adopt another one soon. Sadly, our rescue group always has LOTS of seniors who need homes. Many people WANT to take them in; but they're so fearful of the sadness of losing them, which we totally understand. And even though it IS painful, DH and I will do it again. Kymberlee---I felt that HUG from your adora-bull Dread---tell him I said thank you, and he's so pawsome and sweet !!! lesley----I hope your sweet Turiff is doing better!

Aww, I'm sorry, and I agree-it is so hard that these wonderful little creatures have such short lives. It sounds like your boy had a wonderful life.

I'm so sorry..... Bulldogs are truly amazing dogs. My cousin has had them for as long as I can remember and they are so special. Its so hard that they don't live longer.... but I do want to thank you for understanding how special it is to adopt a senior dog. They are the best... They truly appreciate the love we give them so much, even if its for a short time.
Big Hugs!

I am so sorry. Thank you though for taking in a senior, knowing his time may be short. The fact that he felt nothing but love during his last months is so wonderful.
