I totally see this side of this. However, it is HER life. He is benefiting from every ounce of the success of HER life. So does he "owe" it to her, I don't know. I'm jaded though and would have an issue feeling like I'm not contributing, so maybe that's why I see the other side of it. I loved their playfulness and chemistry in the new episodes though. Maybe I'm overly sensitive to it because I've lived the life where I made no decisions due to being overpowered. Yes, he is living in her house with her (and one of his) kids. I highly doubt he is contributing nothing. He did have enough money to buy a bar. But, they are married. BECAUSE he is there, in her house (doesn't he still have a house? Isn't that where Scarlet technically lives), Rayna has been able to run off at a seconds notice and play a crap gig in California, and then decide to go on a vision quest, all while he stayed home with the kids. Doesn't he still have money coming in from residuals? What's the difference between their relationship and a man with a powerful job and a stay at home mom? Would it be okay for the husband to bulldoze the wife? It may be HER life, as you said, but he is a person, too. Just going on what I remember from the story line, he should have just as much money coming in as she does. They both write, but he did more and for other people too. She was the bigger performer but my understanding is that the money keeps coming in from song-writing, not as much for singing.

Thanks for the reminder. I watched it on Hulu last night. Spoilers, kinda sorta... I'm so over Connie Britton's head shaking. I think she does it even more now than last year. Drives me nuts. Ok, I get this is tv. It is fantasy. Not real. But the cutesy lovey-dovey chatting between Rayna and Deacon is nuts. I'm here for you babe. Whatever you do, you'll be great at it babe. Ok, not direct quotes, but seriously, this is a couple that have been together for 20 years (?). Not 16 year olds that just started dating. I don't remember that happening that much last season. Maybe. And Deacon - whew, man up already. I used to like him. Now he's a victim. Good for him speaking up. But then as soon as Rayna pouts, he caves. Plus, Rayna's not being a very good wife or businesswoman with the album idea. There are more dark times than good times in their past. A concept album will bring out some bad feelings. She openly stated that she didn't care if it made any money and her business is dying. Write the damn songs you want to write on your own if you need some kind of self-growth. Maddie is still a brat. Poor Avery. Poor Juliette. Loved seeing how her situation didn't impact her relationship with Cadence. If Juliette snapped, it was at Avery. And he's taking it well. Will needs to man up too. He needs to figure out who he is and stop being so easily influenced by everyone. I have to remember to watch for the head shaking. I haven't noticed. Juliette could be nicer to Avery. He has become a saint.

I'm definitely not arguing that he should have an opinion, but I see both sides. I think he keeps his house as a safety net or escape, because he knows how they could implode at any second. I don't think I could be a stay at home wife, because I have some weird notion that I need to be an equal. I think for a man that would be hard. Maybe he does get royalties though.

Finally had a chance to watch.
DH watched with me. He doesn't like Juliette, Scarlett or Deacon. I find myself sympathetic to each of their characters. LOL!
Plus many of the songs by Scarlett and Gunnar are my faves!
Love Juliette and I'm so glad it looks like she's getting a chance to thank the lady that saved her life.
Love Avery so much more in the past few seasons. I remember I hated him the first season!
I was very proud of Will for NOT giving in to the clothing designer that was wooing him! BUT, he didn't look too sure of himself when he asked Kevin to move in with him.
Wondering what Maddie does that will disappoint her father so much next week...
